I nodded. The sooner we got this over with, the better.
"So, where is my opponent?" I asked.
"Oh, I saw him outside. He was bragging that he's only fighting a kid tonight."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, I don't blame him. You don't stand a chance." She sighed and sat down beside me on the bench. "I have the ambulance on speed dial in case anything happens. Consider it my thanks."
"You really think I'll lose, don't you?"
"I don't think you understand the severity of your situation. The crowd out there will go wild watching a 300-pound behemoth beat a high schooler senseless. They made you the first match so they can get the crowd riled up. Don't let your guard down." She paused for a second, as if thinking of something. "Not long ago, during a match, Fat Bitch fell. I heard that he has been having problems with his left knee ever since. I don't know how helpful that is, but whatever… use it."
I smiled at her.
