"Chase… this time, let me protect you."
After so many years, Mira had once again awakened the soul of Satan.
But something had changed.
The power that now flowed through her veins dark, wild, and overwhelming began to twist her presence. Her once gentle spirit shimmered beneath a cold and merciless shell. Her expression, once warm, was now sharpened with fury. Brutality lurked behind every breath.
And yet
As she looked down at the man in her arms, battered and bloodied, something human flickered within her.
Her eyes softened.
She took a deep breath and did everything she could to suppress the savage instincts rising inside her.Her voice dropped low, tender.
"…You're safe now."
Chase, nestled in her arms like a fragile prince being carried by a demon queen, flushed bright red.
He craned his neck awkwardly, trying to peer past the curve of her arm until he could meet her eyes just a few inches away, glowing faintly with restrained fury.
"I've never doubted you," he said with a smile.
His voice was steady.
Calm.
And filled with complete trust.
Mira didn't answer. She simply gave a small nod and lowered him gently to the ground.
Then, slowly, she turned back toward the towering figure in the distance the Drum of Emptiness, now brimming with demonic energy.
Whatever softness remained in her gaze vanished completely.
What replaced it was pure, concentrated rage.
"I'll kill you," she said coldly.
Marshall narrowed his eyes, surprised for a moment. Her arrogance made his lip curl.
He wasn't amused anymore.
He was enraged.
After all, he now possessed the body of one of the Eighteen Fighting Gods of Evil a being that stood at the pinnacle of the world. A god in all but name.
How dare this woman this previously helpless girl who once lacked even the strength to lift a sword look at him like that?
That disrespectful gaze.
"Ignorant, arrogant woman die for me!!"
Marshall roared, his body trembling with power.
Suddenly, behind him, the air split open.
Dozens of dark green vortexes spiraled into existence, warping the surrounding space like reality was being torn apart.
From each one, beams of compressed spatial magic burst forth like divine lances, all aimed at the white-haired demoness.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Each beam carried devastating energy power capable of pulverizing mountains.
But Mira didn't move.
She simply tilted her head with cold disdain, white hair whipping around her like silver fire in the wind.
The hurricane raged.
And Mira raised her demon arm with calm precision fingers spread wide.
CRACK!!
Black lightning exploded from her fingertips, dancing wildly with chaotic life.
The battle was about to begin in full.
In the blink of an eye, a massive dark purple magic circle flared into existence beneath Mira etched with unholy sigils and brimming with the power of Satan's soul.
From its swirling center, countless black hands burst forth long, clawed, and dripping with demonic energy.
They stretched skyward, snarling like beasts, and reached out to meet the incoming storm of spatial beams.
"Dark Flow!!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The sky lit up as the two forces collided, unleashing a chain of detonations that lit the heavens in violet and emerald flame.
The shockwaves swept down the coast like a roaring tsunami, carving trenches through the sand and sea.
And then
FLASH!!
A streak of black lightning tore through the smoke.
Before Marshall could even blink, Mira was there standing on the massive chest of the Drum of the Sky.
Her hands clasped together, she summoned crackling arcs of thunder between her palms.
"Super Flash!!"
A blinding surge of lightning erupted at point-blank range, piercing straight through the thick flesh of the demon's vessel and digging deep into the bones beneath.
Marshall howled, his face twisting in agony.
The electric current wracked his massive form. He stomped hard, slamming his colossal foot into the ground to stabilize himself, sending cracks spiderwebbing across the island floor.
With a furious roar, he released a pulse of wild magic, blowing Mira backward with raw force.
But she wasn't done.
Her demon wings spread wide, catching the air like a predator in flight.
She flipped midair, her body steadying against the recoil. Then with eyes locked on her enemy she drew back her fists.
Fwoosh!
From each hand, a sphere of pitch-black magic surged to life crackling, pulsing, dense with concentrated destruction.
She wasn't giving him a moment to breathe. Marshall's rage boiled over.
"You filthy woman… Don't get so full of yourself!!"
Fury overtook him as he swung his massive fist.
The space around it twisted unnaturally, distorted by the spinning vortex that wrapped around his knuckles.
He brought it down in a monstrous arc.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Their fists collided midair black magic and spatial force clashing in rapid succession, sparks flying with every brutal impact.
Their fists howled through the air like roaring cannons, shockwaves blasting outward as they collided again and again.
In just a few heartbeats, hundreds of blows were exchanged each one condensed with magic so dense it shimmered with distortion.
The ground cracked. The sky split.
It was brutal.
And as the clash went on… Marshall began to falter.
Each of Mira's strikes landed with terrifying weight. Her assault was relentless, fierce, precise.
Despite his massive size, Marshall found himself slowly pushed back.He couldn't even find an opening to counterattack.
"How… is this happening?!"
In raw physical strength alone, this woman this weakling who once couldn't even lift a sword was now overwhelming him?
Stronger than Chase?
Impossible!
Rage flared in his chest.
He abruptly gave up on brute force and changed tactics.
Raising one massive hand, he summoned a space vortex wrapped in sickly green light.
Buzz…
The swirling magic twisted violently, catching Mira mid-swing and dragging her into a pocket dimension. Her movements staggered for just a moment.
Seizing the chance, Marshall's mouth stretched open unnaturally wide.
From deep within his throat, a roar erupted amplified by concentrated space magic.
A beam of warped light tore through the air.
Just as Mira shattered the vortex with brute force and reappeared, the space wave slammed into her midair.
BOOOOM!!
The impact sent her flying like a meteor. She rocketed across the sky before crashing into the ocean far beyond the shoreline.
SPLASH!!
A massive column of water surged ten meters high. The sea thundered.
Then… silence. The surface returned to calm.
Marshall exhaled, finally grinning.
"Haha! You think a mere human can challenge the God of War? Absurd. That's simp "
He didn't even get to finish the sentence.
Because. Rumble…
The ocean began to churn again violently. His pupils shrank. The sea boiled with power. And in the center of the spiraling current
Mira rose. Her arms were outstretched, her white hair soaked and billowing around her like sea foam, her body gleaming with dark magic.
With a roarless fury, she pulled the surrounding seawater into an enormous, high-speed whirlpool channeling her magic into the very ocean itself.
A storm was rising. And Marshall… had miscalculated.
Badly.
Marshall finally understood
The one standing against him wasn't a human.
It was a monster. A living incarnation of Satan's power.
"Violent Impact!!"
With a ferocious cry, Mira thrust her arm forward.
The ocean vortex she had summoned reached its critical mass and she hurled it like a titanic spear straight at Marshall.
The high-speed whirlpool howled like a sea dragon, spinning so violently that it warped the air around it. Its sheer size dwarfed even Marshall's enormous form.
Marshall narrowed his eyes, recognizing the threat.
He quickly twisted his fingers into a complex series of symbols space magic surged forward.
SHOOM!
A shimmering wall of dimensional force appeared before him, blocking the incoming vortex.
BOOOOM!!
The water slammed into the space wall with devastating force, shattering it into fractal shards of light. But in doing so, the vortex lost its momentum exploding into a crashing wave that fell as a heavy downpour, drenching the battlefield.
The rain veiled the air.
Marshall blinked, his vision blurred by the sheets of water.
And then he saw it. A flicker.
A deep, burning black light, glowing at the far edge of the mist.
Something was gathering.
And that's when it hit him.
That last attack… was a feint.
The real danger hadn't even begun.
Up in the sky, Mira floated with wings outstretched, her expression stone-cold, eyes gleaming like twin blades.
She slowly brought both hands to her waist, magic boiling between her palms.
A massive black magic circle unfurled beneath her, its lines pulsing with infernal energy. Then without a sound it collapsed inward, shrinking down and embedding itself into the space between her hands.
There, it formed a hyper-condensed magic sphere, crackling with demonic energy and vibrating with apocalyptic power.
Sizzle.
Black lightning danced violently across her arms. The pressure in the air changed. The wind screamed in protest, swirling into a maelstrom around her.
Her voice echoed through the storm, low and trembling with fury.
"You dared to hurt Chase…"
Her arms tensed, the orb thrumming in her grip.
"…and my companions."
Her voice dropped, deadly quiet.
"People like you… can never be forgiven."
Under Marshall's wide-eyed, terrified stare
Mira raised both arms and roared,
"Soul Exterminator!!"
BOOOOOOOM!!!
The compressed beam of pitch-black energy erupted from her palms like a cannon from the depths of hell. It tore through the air, shattering space itself as it blasted downward.
The beam crashed into Marshall's enormous body engulfing him in darkness.
The force of the impact obliterated everything it touched, carving out a massive black hole in the heart of the island. Craters split the land. Trees, stone, even magic itself disintegrated in the face of the blast.
The explosion shot skyward like a demonic pillar of fire.
Even the passengers aboard the magic evacuation boat, now far offshore, felt it a suffocating pressure that made their hearts race uncontrollably.
A silence followed.
One filled with trembling awe and disbelief.
For nearly a full minute, the sky rumbled, the earth howled, and the heavens themselves seemed to bend under the sheer force of the attack.
Then
Finally
It was over.
When the dust settled and the world returned to stillness, the scene from above was utterly apocalyptic.
The Drum of Emptiness was in shambles. Its body was broken beyond recognition, huge chunks of flesh and armor ripped away, exposing its interior.
There at the center of the devastation stood Marshall.
His eyes were wide, filled with panic.
The skin around him flickered like ash. He looked fragile. Mortal. His godhood had been stripped away.
Purple smoke curled through the air as Mira gently descended from the sky.
Her demonic form faded away, and once again, she returned to the image everyone knew the kind, gentle Mira Jane Strauss of Fairy Tail.
But her body trembled.
Her breathing was ragged.
Her chest rose and fell violently as she stood beside Chase, who lay watching her silently with awe in his eyes.
Her magic power her mana was nearly depleted.
After so many years, to unseal that form again, even for a moment, had placed unbearable strain on both her body and her soul.
This… was her limit.
It was also the reason why she had refused to accept an even stronger demon soul.
Her hand clutched her side as she gazed at the Hollow Drum what remained of it now fading like foam under the tide.
And just when it seemed like she could finally breathe…
SPLOOSH!!
A spray of scarlet blood burst through the air.
So sudden. So violent. Her heart dropped.
And with it a monstrous, suffocating demonic aura surged to life.
Mira's pupils shrank to pinpricks. Her breath caught. Her face went pale.
"W-What…?!"
A new nightmare was beginning.
