Main Story
Kael's arm throbbed where the branch had snapped against Milo's shoulder. His vision blurred with pain, but he couldn't afford to stop. "Milo, listen to me—don't let it control you!"
The thing in Milo's skin only tilted its head. A grotesque mockery of innocence. "He's listening," it whispered, Milo's lips moving but the voice bending wrong. "He's screaming. He wants you to hear him, Kael. But he's very far down."
