Chapter 21 - Chapter 20: Mother Slime's Fall

In the Grand Hall

"They're all deployed in various Forbidden Woods across the Kingdom, Headmistress," announced Master Genesis with a small, satisfied smile.

"I've made sure to send them only to areas where the creatures are less aggressive. Their safety is my top priority." his voice was calm but proud.

Headmistress Ophelia sat tall at the head of a long stage table on the stage.

She gave a slow, approving nod.

"Excellent work, Master Genesis," she said with warmth in her voice. "Your Divine Magic is really useful."

Then, turning her sharp yet kind gaze to another person sitting quietly at the far side of the table, the Headmistress spoke again.

"And Master Felicia, have you done the enchantment you always do for every ceremony like this?"

Master Felicia, the teacher in charge of the Psychic students at the Divine Academy, stood up. She was known not only for her wisdom but also for her extraordinary psychic ability, Cognitive Reading ability, which allowed her to know everything.

"Yes, Headmistress Ophelia," she answered respectfully. "As always, I've placed an incantation on each student's class badge with a special connection ward. This magical link connects them to my ability, allowing me to sense their presence and check on their well-being."

The Headmistress's eyes sparkled with approval. "Very good. Now, Felicia… show us. Let your magic reveal what our brave students are doing out there."

Master Felicia took a deep breath and stepped into the center of the hall. Her presence became calm and commanding. With both hands gently holding her crystal ball, she began to chant.

"O wisdom of Archangel Raziel, Show me what I need to see. Reveal the scene, so clear, so keen— Unveil the truths that lie between."

"Raziel's Eyes!"

Suddenly, a brilliant violet light burst forth from the crystal ball. The glow quickly spread across the room. Everyone at the table watched in silent awe.

The light began to swirl and take shape in the air, forming glowing images like windows into other parts of the Kingdom.

As Master Felicia gently moved her hands over her crystal ball on the stage table,

In a sudden flash of brilliant light, a huge, glowing holographic images appeared above the stage. It shimmered like a floating screen made of magic.

The scene it showed was breathtaking—it was a moving picture of the Forbidden Woods, one of the most dangerous places in the entire kingdom.

All across the vision, the young student adventurers could be seen. Some were carefully walking along narrow forest paths, their eyes alert for danger. Others were working together to build small campfires or set up magical and sacred barriers. In some parts of the image, groups of students were facing off against terrifying monsters—using spells, weapons, and teamwork to fight back.

Her ability, Cognitive Reading, was more than just an ability. She could know everything by just touching her crystal ball.

"Wow! They're having a wild time, Headmistress!" said Master Felicia.

The Headmistress scanned the scene, her gaze searching for a specific group.

---

I quickly opened my Tome of Abilities, flipping through the magical pages as fast as I could. Each one shimmered with glowing words and symbols. I was desperate to find something—anything—that could help us in this chaotic moment.

"Oh, Almighty Creator, please help us!" I silently prayed, clutching the book a little tighter.

"We have to help them!" shouted the priestess. Her voice was filled with panic. She ran straight into the middle of the battlefield, toward Raven.

The priestess, determined to do something, spotted a small stone on the ground and snatched it up. She ran straight toward Raven and the towering Mother Slime.

I turned to the Wind Mage beside me. His face was tense, eyes scanning the battle. "You need to find an offensive Wind spell in your Tome," I said quickly.

"I'm on it," he muttered, already flipping through the pages of his Tome. The rustling paper sounded louder than usual—like time was running out.

"I've found something in mine," I called out, holding up my Tome with trembling hands.

"Me too," he replied, his voice steadier now. He looked up at me, and for a moment, our eyes met.

Then I saw it.

The Mother Slime, unaffected, began to slither toward the wounded priestess, who was now crawling and sobbing on the ground, unable to escape.

But before it could get any closer, the Wind Mage and I rushed forward, standing between the monster and the priestess.

The Wind Mage and I gave a single nod to each other. It was a silent agreement—we'd cast our magics together.

"Now!" I shouted.

The Wind Mage raised his wand, and we gripped our tomes tightly. Our voices rose above the chaos as we began chanting our incantations—words filled with sacred power, ready to strike down the monster before it reached our priestess. I began glowing, with purple circling around me.

"By the weave of thought, the currents of mind, a tide of mental energy, release!"

I read from my Tome, then braced myself as my amulet pulsed with purple light.

"Mind Blast!"

I shouted, and purple magic surged into my hands, forming a visible force that blasted the Mother Slime.

"The storm's teeth awaken! By the fury of the gale, wind blades fly! Tear and rend!"

The Wind Mage chanted his incantation.

Aiming his wand at the Mother Slime, a white magic flared at the wand's tip, unleashing a gust of wind-blades that struck the creature.

"Wind Magic: Razor Winds!"

A combined purple energy force and gust of wind-blades struck the Mother Slime, sending it flying. Our combined power proved overwhelmingly effective.

Our attention turned to our bleeding companion. We rushed to her side as the priestess moaned in pain on the ground, her legs badly swollen and burned by the Mother Slime's acid. Raven also rushed toward the priestess.

The other three were still fighting the slimes produced by the Mother Slime.

I saw the Mother Slime groaning in pain from afar. It had become slower—probably because of the Wind Mage's spell. It was now moving away, crawling like a snail toward the edge of the open space.

But before it could get away, I noticed Raven looking for something in her Tome on the ground. After she found what she needed, her eyes lit up with satisfaction.

She dip her wooden arrow into the slimy goo of the Mother Slime.

I wonder what she's doing.

She aimed her Heart Bow at the Mother Slime, which was now slowly crawling back into the woods.

Her wooden arrow glowed red, transformed into an enchanted arrow, ready to strike the Mother Slime.

She began chanting.

"Let this arrow seek and find. Pierce the core, with fate entwined— Fly, enchanted arrow, and strike the heart!"

"Heart Strike!"

The red-glowing arrow of Raven flew straight and true, its magic humming with power. It struck the slimy core of the massive Mother Slime with a brilliant flash, and in an instant the creature trembled and burst apart in a shower of sparkling goo.

Then, suddenly, everything went blurry. I felt dizzy and collapsed to the ground. The last thing I heard was Hebrew calling my name.

However, to cast Heart Strike successfully, the archer must first extract a piece of the target's body—such as blood, tissue, scale, or hair—and infuse it into the arrow. This small essence acts as a homing beacon. The arrow is then attracted to the target, drawing the magic directly to the target's most vital point, often its heart or core. It can be interrupted if destroyed.)
