When I was a little girl, I always thought a family was just a mommy and a child.
My mommy Kyra is a gentle, strong, and kind woman. She would stay by my side when I was sick, work hard to raise me, and give me anything I wanted.
My mommy and I were the most inseparable pair in the world.
Until I went to kindergarten, when the other kids said families were made of a woman, a man, and children. They said people without a 'daddy' were abandoned.
I didn't believe them, so I fought with them.
I punched that little boy who was bullying me right in the face.
Mommy got called to the school, and when we got home she asked me why I was bullying others. After I explained, she kept apologizing and held me while she cried. She said she was sorry I didn't have a father.
I didn't understand why mommy was apologizing. I didn't actually care about having a father or not. I had the best mommy in the world.
