Zixuan sighed, his heart relaxing as he realized it was a silly matter.
"Pa went to work."
"Why does pa have to work? I don't want you to go to work," An sobbed.
Her pa liked going to work every day. Why couldn't he stay with her?
"Don't cry," Zixuan said softly. "You're making me sad. Do you want Pa to be sad?"
"No." An shook her head with a pout. Her dad must always be happy.
"Good, then clean your tears and stop crying."
"Okay." She hiccuped as she wiped her tears. "But I don't want you to go to work," she repeated stubbornly.
Zixuan sighed, but his lips curved into a helpless smile.
How could she be so stubborn and sweet at the same time?
"If I don't go, how can I buy your favorite toys, clothes, and snacks for you?"
"I don't want them," she muttered, still pouting.
"Okay." Zixuan nodded, pretending to agree. "Then I won't go to work again."
"Yeah!" An shouted happily, her mood immediately brightening.
"Stupid," Yu's voice sounded in the background.
