The car finally arrived at the Fu mansion, and they both stepped out.
"Zixuan."
Mrs. Fu stood at the doorstep with a warm smile, it had been a long time since she last saw her son.
"Mom." Zixuan smiled as he walked forward, Anran trailing behind him.
"How have you been, son?" Mrs. Fu asked with concern, her eyes instinctively drifting down to his stomach. "Any discomfort?"
"I'm fine. What discomfort could I possibly have?" Zixuan replied, confused by his mother's sudden question. To him, nothing was wrong.
"Alright, alright," Mrs. Fu said, quickly diverting the topic. "Who is your friend?"
"This—" Zixuan pulled Anran forward, "—is Anran."
"Hi." Anran gave a small wave, his voice shy.
An omega. Mrs. Fu would not have agreed if she'd known beforehand, but she chuckled softly. "Such a cutie."
"You noticed too, Mom," Zixuan said with a playful smile.
