Chapter 251: Conquering the Takigakure Shinobi
In the Mountain Region, ten miles from the Hidden Mist Village, was the joint Takigakure camp. The atmosphere was oppressive and heavy, with the air thick with smoke and the smell of blood. In the distance, the village stood against the mountain, and at dusk, it looked like a dormant giant beast. Barely visible, a large number of rune fortifications were arranged on the periphery, and behind them, tens of thousands of detonating devices were hidden. It was no wonder that the Takigakure shinobi were impassable and suffered numerous casualties.
The commander, a jonin with a scar on his face named Shibuki, watched the newly arrived Konoha troops with a sullen expression. The jonin next to him were practically exhausted, and the assistant commander had a subtle glint of contempt in his eyes.
"Have the Konoha reinforcements finally arrived?" Shibuki's voice was hoarse, with evident joy. "Umino-jonin, I have long heard your name."
Sasuke, unpretentiously, exchanged polite words and began to understand the details of the battle.
"The Hidden Mist Village is a tough nut to crack. Its explosive talismans and traps are ubiquitous. Our warriors even used the precious Hero Water, but in the end... oh!" Shibuki pointed to the wounded area, where many Taki ninjas lay, their bodies charred.
"I understand the situation," Sasuke nodded, his voice reflecting no emotion. "Since you have not been able to resist, the task of breaking the impasse will fall to Konoha. Please cooperate with us. When our action is successful, we can attack the Hidden Mist Village from within."
"What?! Leave it to you?!" Shibuki exclaimed, stunned. "Umino-jonin, you probably don't understand how powerful their traps are. Stubbornness has a price."
The assistant, already somewhat dissatisfied with Konoha, began to mock. "You're just showing off. Not even the elites who drank the Hero Water could get through. What else can you do?"
Upon hearing this, Shun, Yeshan, and the others were enraged. If Sasuke had not remained calm, they would have already captured this outspoken guy.
"It doesn't matter," Sasuke waved his hand, not taking the traps seriously. They were formidable, but today they had run into their nemesis. Hidden among the rocks, they were difficult to detect with normal senses, but the penetrating power of his sonic wave technique revealed them all.
After a brief consumption of their rations, as night fell, Sasuke, along with Shun, Duy, Yeshan, Hyōzō, and Ye, formed two elite squads and infiltrated the right defensive line of the village.
"The art of the sonic radar!"
Invisible sound waves scanned every inch of the ground. The subtle differences in the structure of the detonators, camouflaged to blend in with the environment, were as clear as fireflies in the dark. Several shadow clones marked the location of each trap.
"Thirty meters to the left, seven centimeters below the tree roots, a chain detonating talisman set."
"Fifteen meters to the right, inside a crack in the rock, a delayed detonation trap."
"Fifty meters straight ahead, two meters underground, a mine-type trap..."
Like the most precise navigator, the clones pointed out the location of each death trap.
"The commander's perception is as powerful as ever!" Shun and the others thought.
The areas were marked one after another, and two shadow clones, with their swords drawn, lunged towards the marked points.
"Blade of the Thunder God!"
The clone directly attacked the marked point. The violent lightning chakra instantly destroyed the circuits of the detonating talisman.
"Seal-Breaker Blade!"
The other clone wielded a rune-shaped dagger, which gently cut the delicate sealing nodes, silently disintegrating them.
The entire process was lightning-fast and incredibly precise. The traps, powerful enough to destroy a jonin, were dismantled one by one.
"Move out!"
Sasuke advanced with great strides, and the squad followed closely, penetrating like a sharp knife into the heart of the Hidden Mist Village.
"How is that possible?!" Shibuki and a group of Takigakure jonin exclaimed, watching the squad move through the deadly zone that had made them bleed profusely, their eyes almost popping out. The Takigakure jonin's face burned with pain, his arrogance completely shattered.
"As expected of a great ninja! They are truly formidable!"
"Is this the true strength of the world's main ninja village?"
"This is just Konoha's frontline mobile support unit, and it possesses formidable power. If it were the main army, how much more powerful would it be?" the Takigakure jonin debated, finally gaining a new appreciation for Konoha's power.
