Chapter 155: Samehada External Battery
"Could it be...?" Sasuke wondered, shaking his head, unable to confirm his thoughts.
The three swordsmen had already fled. He braced himself and, surrounded by his four mecha puppets just in case, grabbed Samehada's hilt. He carefully transferred a bit of his chakra to it. Samehada instantly became excited; it was clear it liked it.
'Is it because of Tobirama's jutsu, which changed the nature of my water chakra? Or because of the mysterious factors from Wind Breathing?' His assumption began to solidify. If it wasn't quantity, it could only be quality. Then, he realized it. 'No, the biggest difference in my chakra... is the food energy from my Taotie Technique.'
He quickly swallowed some honey energy blocks, activated his digestion technique, and transmitted that pure, pre-digested energy to Samehada.
The sword immediately trembled, extremely excited, and even shed drops of water, as if crying with relief. With each pulse, waves of raw emotions and images flooded Sasuke's mind.
It turned out that Samehada was originally a symbiotic organism of the Three-Tails, Isobu. Its main task was not to absorb chakra, but to clean Isobu's food scraps, digest them to extract chakra, and then feed it back. Its famous ability to absorb chakra was only a secondary function.
When the Mist ninjas captured it and transformed it into a sword, they made a huge mistake. They destroyed its digestive system and focused on its incidental ability. Since then, Samehada had been "starving," considering chakra its only food.
Now, the pure food energy Sasuke transmitted to it was like the first premium delicacy it had tasted in decades. It reminded it of its original purpose, and the joy it felt was indescribable. As Sasuke fed Samehada energy, it returned waves of pure chakra, making Sasuke feel fuller than ever.
"God is truly helping me!" he thought, euphoric. They were the perfect pair. He had an excess of food energy and lacked chakra. Samehada was an energy-to-chakra conversion machine.
"Isn't this equivalent to obtaining a Yin Seal?"
The Yin Seal could store chakra and heal wounds. Samehada could do the same. But the Yin Seal took a long time to charge. Samehada only needed food. This wasn't a Yin Seal. It was a life charger, an infinite external battery powered by fish. As long as he had it, he was an indestructible cockroach with unlimited chakra.
"Even so, I can't waste it," he told himself, calming down. Cell division was limited. He didn't want to die prematurely like Hashirama, whose body, despite his Ōtsutsuki lineage, probably burned out from overuse of regeneration. Cellular regeneration should only be used as a trump card to save lives.
"If you want to live a long time, you still have to consider the arts of the hermits," he reflected, comparing the quick but dangerous success of chakra with the more orthodox path of senjutsu.
"Come, Samehada, try this energy too."
Seeing that Samehada liked his energy, he sent it the energy he extracted from the Wind Breathing Technique, allowing it to taste that as well.
