Chapter 159: The Mist Ninjas Are Scared
All their ships moved at full speed, trying to escape as quickly as possible. However, the river in that area was narrow, and the ships could only pass one by one. Now that the upstream water flow had been cut off by the landslide, the speed of the large vessels had slowed. Those at the stern, carrying the cheaper goods, had even run aground. To solve the problem, the Mist ninjas used a jutsu to artificially create a large amount of water.
"Water Style: Great Waterfall Technique!"
A huge waterfall pushed the large ship at the bow, loaded with the most valuable loot, at high speed. Once it left the bay, it could enter the sea and escape.
Sasuke, mounted on Shirotaka, rushed to intercept it.
"White Blood Demon, the Land of Fire and our Land of Water have not declared war. Are you trying to start a war?" Fuguki shouted at him, with barely disguised fear in his eyes. He hoped that, out of a sense of justice and international politics, Sasuke would let them go.
As a high-ranking officer, Fuguki knew Konoha's foreign policy well, especially the Third Hokage's. He knew that Hiruzen, for the sake of peace, might even punish a Konoha hero if he provoked a conflict.
"Diplomatic rhetoric? There are no Mist ninjas here. I just annihilated a group of pirates, wouldn't you agree, Mr. Pirate?" Sasuke replied, feigning not to be fooled.
"Run!" Fuguki shouted to his men. He feared that Sasuke, with his political ignorance and the power of Samehada, would use his forbidden technique again and kill them all. He knew that with Samehada, Sasuke had enough chakra to do it.
'Samehada, you damned traitor,' he muttered to himself, as he planned to abandon the ship and flee into the water if necessary. Jūzō and Raiga, beside him, had the same plan.
'What a shame,' Sasuke thought, observing the main ship. He knew that in the river, the terrain advantage was theirs. His mechas had no diving function. If he didn't kill them now, when he had the chance, would he wait for them to destroy Konoha in the next war? As for Hiruzen's tricks, Danzo could handle them.
"White Blood Demon, I've already sent the information. If you dare to ignore the friendship between our countries..." Fuguki began to threaten, summoning a group of sharks to carry messages.
"Fuguki, I can let you go, but this loot must be left behind," Sasuke said, feigning to yield.
Seeing that Sasuke seemed concerned about politics, Fuguki regained some confidence. "No! This loot is ours, and we must get it all back."
"It seems you are not willing to accept a toast, but prefer a penalty. Samehada, give me chakra."
Sasuke feigned fury. "Water Style: Hard Water Vortex!"
He condensed a huge water javelin and launched it, not against the main ship, but against the second one, sinking it and blocking the retreat of the others.
"White Blood Demon, we can talk about it, don't be impulsive," Fuguki immediately yielded, fearing that the next attack would be for him.
"I don't want to hear your diplomatic rhetoric," Sasuke threatened him. "If I can't stay in Konoha, I wouldn't mind defecting to the Land of Water and reminiscing about old times with you."
After a tense negotiation, Fuguki and the others promised to leave the loot.
"Get out of here," Sasuke ordered them.
"Phew~," Fuguki felt he had survived a disaster. This killer had finally left. He realized that, if not for Hiruzen's peace policy, which suppressed lunatic warriors like Sasuke, the world would be a much more dangerous place. The power of that Dust Style alone was enough to destroy the entire Mist Village.
