Chapter 114: Telescope Technique
"Are you questioning my order!"
Uchiha Setsuna placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. If Sasuke's answer was incorrect, he could be immediately punished. All the Uchiha ninjas gathered around him, awaiting their leader's command to take control. On the other side, Yeshan and Hyōzō stood by Sasuke, ready to support their commander.
Sasuke, however, waved a hand to appease his men. Ignoring Setsuna, he approached the red-hot stone walls and formed hand seals.
"Water Style: Water Jet Technique!"
A small jet of water shot from his mouth and struck the wall. Under the effect of thermal shock, the stone instantly exploded. With a loud crash, a large piece of the rock wall collapsed. Truth speaks louder than words.
Upon seeing this scene, all the ninjas were chilled to the bone. They realized that, had they followed Setsuna's plan, the mountains on both sides would have collapsed, burying them all. They looked at Sasuke with gratitude, remembering his title: "Konoha's Iron Wall."
"Hmph!" Setsuna snorted, extremely arrogant and unable to admit his mistake.
"Let me open this passage," Sasuke said.
He released two shadow clones. While he created a dense mist with the Hiding in Mist Technique, the clones used Great Wind Breakthrough. It wasn't a simple application of ninjutsu; it was thermodynamics. The wind carried the mist, creating a vast contact surface that cooled the rock gradually and in a controlled manner.
Once the temperature dropped, Sasuke took the initiative and led his troops through the pass. He didn't do it to show off, but because he didn't trust Setsuna and wanted to use his own radar to scout.
His plan, however, failed. Just after passing through, Setsuna led his team and overtook him on the right, taking the lead again. Setsuna's behavior was so childishly competitive that it left Sasuke speechless. He could only follow them, activating his infrasonic radar to its maximum range of six kilometers.
Setsuna was heading straight for Sunagakure's logistical base, Castle Flow. It was a high-risk strategy.
"Indeed, there was an ambush!"
Sasuke was stunned. His radar detected a large number of Sunagakure ninjas six kilometers away, positioned to cut off their retreat.
He quickly mounted Shirotaka to warn Setsuna. Setsuna stopped and confirmed the information with his own sensory ninja, a green-haired man who, with his two-kilometer range, saw nothing.
"You know the consequences of delaying my attack," Setsuna threatened him.
"My perception range has reached two kilometers. Not even the Byakugan can compare to me," the sensory ninja added arrogantly.
Sasuke, naturally, wasn't going to reveal his technique. Instead, he offered a test. "Elder Setsuna, do you dare to ride my summoning beast and go up with me to high altitude for reconnaissance?"
Setsuna, skilled and bold, jumped directly onto Shirotaka's back. Sasuke had the hawk, which now had a wingspan of almost ten meters, ascend hundreds of meters.
"Water Style: Telescope Technique."
In an instant, three enormous and perfect water lenses materialized in the air in front of him, curving the light of the setting sun.
