I find myself in the U.S. Customs building out of handcuffs and sitting across from FBI Agent Bilkins, "O'Connor good to see you again, I have to ask why'd you run?"
"Ehh, with everything that went down I just figured it'd be safer than coming in." I admit with a shrug and Bilkins nods.
"The thing is O'Connor…you were never at risk of being arrested not for real anyways, especially not after multiple witness testimonies of what went down in the desert, Mia Toretto and Letty Ortiz have been cleared of any suspicion as well Johnny Tran's sister stepped forward and told them that the whole operation was her brother's, the bad blood between Toretto and Tran was her sleeping with Dominic Toretto."
"Okay so why am I here?" I ask the agent and the guy whose life I saved comes stomping into the room face beat red with a snarl on his lips.
"You, you resisted arrest, and attacked two federal agents! And threw us out of a helicopter!"
"I didn't attack nobody-"
"That's enough Agent Markham." I freeze at the sound of that voice and look to the doorway, it's none other than Mr Nobody, my muscles tense as he enters the room, behind him is little Miss Nobody, she waves to me with a snotty expression on her face, that screams I'm Daddy's little Princess.
"What are you doing here?!" I ask Mr Nobody.
"I'm here because you didn't listen to me when I told you to lay low, now you've gotten yourself involved in a real shit storm Brian." Mr Nobody says and he sounds like a disappointed father and that infuriates me.
"You don't get to fucking do that!" I snarl at him standing up from my chair so fast it falls over behind me.
"You don't get to sound like a disappointed father when you fucking abandoned me when I was fucking three years old!" I shout at him and do feel a slight embarrassment at my outburst but don't let it show.
"Brian this is not the time or the place to have this out…" Mr.Nobody says calmly and his daughter is staring at me with a deer in headlights expression.
'Must be her image of a hero daddy was just shattered.'
"I thought there was something familiar about you O'Connor…Smith it's nice seeing you again." Bilkins says and I can hear the reverence Bilkins has for Mr Nobody.
"It's nice to see you as well Clarence." Mr Nobody nods to him and motions for everyone to follow him Markham looks ready to implode but bites his tongue and follows Mr Nobody, and Bilkins out of the room leaving me with little Miss Nobody.
"I'm Tess…" She says to me awkwardly, and it's easy to see that she's trying to roll with the bomb that just got dropped on her but she's struggling.
"Brian…but I guess you know that already." I say and walk over to Tess, extending my right hand to her…she looks at it for half a second then proceeds to hug me.
"I'm sorry…I never knew." Tess murmurs softly before pulling away and schooling her expression, "Are you coming?" She asks in a very professional manner while motioning to the door.
"Uhh sure…"
"This was supposed to be my first solo op…infiltrating Carter Verone's organization, but "Mr Nobody" decided that since you've already been picked out by his talent scout that I'll be joining you and your team." The emphasis she puts on Mr Nobody screams Daddy issues galore.
"Why would you guys want to infiltrate a mid range Drug Lord's organization?"
Tess sighs softly, "Mr Nobody is briefing the others now so it won't hurt anything for me to tell you but, Carter is smuggling in both highly regulated and monitored ingredients and scientists, not to mention there's chatter of him helping known terrorists into the country. The current embedded Custom's Agent isn't up to the task to uncover the depth of Carter Verone's organization or it's current practices, that's where I come in."
"You're a honey trap…" I say to Tess and slowly run my eyes up and down her, Tess makes an expression that's indecipherable and then she starts to say something but stops.
'Hold up you're not gonna tell me you're my half sibling, like what the fuck?!'
'Though, if I were a bear and she was the only honey in the forest…I'd ravenously lick her till there's nothing left…' I monologue idly like some kinda cartoon villain in my head.
"That was pretty awesome." Tess suddenly murmurs and turns her head to look at me giving me an appreciative once over, but there's a hidden reluctance in her eyes as she does so.
"What was?" I ask unsure of what she could be referring to, she looks at me hard for a bit and then laughs.
"Uhh, let's see the way you dislodged that vehicle killer, caught it out of the air and launched it into the underbelly of a helicopter, then saved two guys and prevented an out of control helicopter from taking out a building or exploding…" Tess says to me her eyes sparkling even as she tries to fight to keep a professional mask on her face.
"Oh, that…that's just a regular Tuesday in the life of Brian O'Connor…stick around for a bit blondie and I'll rock your world." I joke back and maybe put a bit too much insinuation into my voice wanting to see how far to push before Tess breaks spy code and tells me she's my half sister.
"I just might, Brian…" Tess's voice carries a hint of promise to it that seems a bit concerning.
We enter an auditorium-like room after passing through two security doors, and getting scanned for any devices.
"Ahh nice of you two kids to join us." I bristle at Me Nobody's tone, part of me wants to just go over there and smash his head through a wall, Tess tenses beside me.
