Rumble—!
The deafening roar shook the entire island.
A colossal beast and towering giants clashed, their collision like a natural disaster threatening to tear the island apart.
Within the blazing inferno, Rodan dragged fire and smoke with every turn of his body and beat of his wings. The scorching gales and heat waves swept savagely across the island.
"What a terrifying creature."
"A battle worth remembering."
"..."
The three giants, godlike in stature, were already covered in burns, some patches of their flesh charred black.
Yet not a trace of pain showed on their faces. Instead, their eyes blazed with bloodthirsty fighting spirit.
The clash had raged on for a long time. The surrounding sea and shore were unrecognizable, scarred by firestorms and sword-gouged ravines.
"Remembering?"
"Then I'll give you something even more memorable."
Rodan's eyes, burning like molten fire, fixed on the three giants. With a roar like a primordial beast, the ground fissures around him erupted, spewing scarlet magma skyward.
The lava exploded, fire pillars shooting up as a wave of violent energy swept outward.
Magma, wrapped in gale-force winds, shot like shells toward the three giants.
Bang, bang, bang…
The giants blocked the incoming magma projectiles one after another, then swung their weapons in counterattack.
Rodan showed no sign of yielding. He leapt skyward, wings aflame, and hurled himself at them.
The savage brawl reignited—raw and primal, like the wars of an ancient age.
They fought by instinct, like beasts. Fist against claw. Strike against wing.
Blood sprayed, only to be seared into steam before it touched the ground.
The giants were scarred and bleeding. Rodan's own body was torn with cracks and gashes.
"Kill!"
The thunderous roar of the giants shook the air as they lifted their weapons once more, hurling themselves at the burning monster.
Rodan, undaunted, stomped the scorched ground, unleashing waves of blistering heat that swept across the battlefield.
The searing gusts incinerated all—but against the giants, they had little effect.
"Persistent fools!"
Rodan snarled, then slammed the earth beneath him, kicking up another firestorm as he charged.
Rumble!
The impact thundered like a meteor strike, shaking the island to its core.
Rodan, wreathed in flame, pressed forward against the weapons of the three giants, forcing them backward.
The towering giants were driven step by step, their massive feet gouging deep trenches in the sand as Rodan pushed them.
"ROAR!"
"BOOM!"
With a furious cry, Rodan spewed forth another torrent of fire, the blaze engulfing one of the giants.
The temperature surged into thousands of degrees, black smoke billowing as the stench of burning flesh filled the air.
"Bastard!"
The two remaining giants bellowed in rage, lashing out with their fists at the beast before them.
Rodan did not evade. Instead, his flames burned hotter, redoubled.
The suffocating heat roasted their flesh until cracks split open and smoke rose from their bodies. Skin blistered and peeled away.
The two giants, realizing the danger, tried to retreat.
But it was too late.
Rodan, battered by their blows, pressed forward instead of falling back. With wings like burning mountains, he whipped up a scorching gale and hurled himself at them.
The giants were driven into bloodlust. But so was he.
For centuries, he had never endured such an assault. The fury and violence long buried in his blood now blazed awake.
His eyes flared with fire. He loosed a sky-shaking roar.
Facing the two giants, Rodan opened his maw and unleashed a torrent of crimson flame. The inferno lit the heavens like a burning sunset.
Unlike Ghidorah, who absorbed lightning to recharge his strength, Rodan lived on flame and magma. Every burst of power diminished his reserves.
So, most of the time, he avoided such reckless expenditure.
But not now.
Now he cared nothing for cost. His only thought was to annihilate the two before him.
The giants' faces twisted in fear. They raised their weapons, desperately trying to withstand the torrent.
But the relentless flames seeped through every gap. Even if they dispersed the wave before them, the next would already be upon them.
In an instant, the beach was drowned in crimson fire, the blaze rising dozens of meters into the sky.
The two giants, their lower bodies entirely consumed, collapsed with a crash.
Already their flesh had been burned away.
"No—"
"No—!"
As they toppled, they stared into the raging inferno, their voices shrieking with terror.
It was not their bodies that quailed, but their very souls.
A thousand years ago, they were worshipped as gods. Now, they faced a death beyond imagining.
In the face of death, no one could remain indifferent. Not even them.
But Rodan's gaze was merciless. His blazing eyes regarded the falling giants without pity as they were swallowed by the fire.
Only when the two were utterly consumed did his strength finally fail. With a crash, he collapsed onto the scorched ground, lifting his head with effort and growling:
"Cowards… afraid to die."
"Heh. There isn't a soul in this world who isn't."
A cold voice came from above. Rodan instinctively lifted his head at the words.
"Have you ever feared death?"
Boom!
Ghidorah descended beside him, three heads surveying the incinerated beach before turning toward Rodan.
"I don't fear death. I long for it… yet cannot die. That's almost the same."
Hearing this, Rodan felt an urge to lash out at him.
What kind of nonsense was that supposed to be?
But he knew full well he wasn't Ghidorah's match. So with a dismissive snort, he looked away—only for his eyes to freeze at the sight.
Not far off, the warships of the giants had begun to stir.
One by one, the hulking vessels shifted into formation, linking together into a massive steel colossus.
"What is…?"
Rodan's composure cracked at last.
"Is that… the Pluton Frame?"
He stared in disbelief at the steel monster rising in the distance.
"Yes… and no," Ghidorah answered.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, they are Pluton Frames—but someone has tampered with them. Before I arrived, I already encountered one."
Ghidorah briefly described his earlier encounter, then said grimly:
"They've likely planned for this from the start. They were waiting for me."
"Cheh. Even if they planned it, so what? Do they think they can repeat what happened centuries ago with that thing—"
Before Rodan could finish, the distant sea began to bulge upward, as though something monstrous were about to break free from beneath the waves…
