Chapter 99 - Chapter 099: The Green-Haired Ability User, “Kraem”

Though the other's face was hidden beneath a gray-hooded cloak, Ghidorah recognized that ability at a single glance.

That power — the power to control all plant life in the world!

"Heh… didn't expect you'd recognize me so quickly!"

As the voice fell, the two gray-robed figures slowly removed their hoods.

The one who had spoken revealed long hair the color of fresh grass — a vivid, lush green. His hair was so thick and unruly that it puffed up wildly, almost like a bird's nest.

Standing to his right was a man with silver-gray hair, strange tattooed markings etched across his face — somewhat reminiscent of Dragon's, though not the same.

The moment Ghidorah saw him, his eyes flashed in shock.

"Doraine! (OC)"

Immediately, his lips curled into a feral grin as he sneered:

"Never thought I'd see the day… two of the Twenty Kings showing up together. That must mean all of you have been revived!"

"And what's more surprising is just how fast you've moved!"

"No helping it," said the gray-haired man called Doraine as he stepped forward, his voice low and commanding as he addressed the soldiers behind him.

"This brat dared to cross someone like you — of course we had to act."

"Take Steel-Bone Kong back to the ship. Everyone else, withdraw from the island."

As his words fell, a violent storm whipped up. Within the raging gale, countless nearly invisible wind blades howled straight toward Ghidorah.

"You never learn, do you!"

Ghidorah snarled, unfazed by the rain of slashing wind blades. "Wind blades? I can do that too!"

He spread his massive wings wide and gave them a savage beat. A howling hurricane surged forth, colliding head-on with Doraine's tempest.

Hurricane clashed against hurricane, producing a strange, grating "zzz-zzz" sound. The opposing winds ground against one another, shattering and canceling out, leaving twisted black cracks in the air like fractured mirrors.

Then came a thunderous detonation. The sound barrier, torn apart by the two forces, exploded outward.

From the warped space, an even more violent energy burst forth — not mere wind, but the chaotic turbulence of rending space itself.

That terrifying spatial maelstrom swallowed both titanic forces whole. And then, in the next instant, the twisted space calmed once more.

But at the center of the explosion, everything had been obliterated, leaving behind a massive crater nearly a hundred meters wide.

"This…"

Fujitora and Green Bull, who had lingered nearby, were both utterly stunned.

Especially Green Bull — he could feel in his very bones the weight of what had just unfolded before his eyes.

Staring at the crater, a chill of dread coursed through him.

Could this truly be the power of the World Government, the power I've never been able to comprehend?

And yet, Ghidorah can meet it head-on — even overwhelm it with ease. Just how powerful is he?

Could it really be as Bika-senpai wrote… that this is a creature akin to a god?

If it were possible, he thought, he would give anything to witness the world a thousand years ago… to stand amidst that eternal war.

"There's no need for us here any longer," Fujitora suddenly said.

"Yeah."

Green Bull sighed. "But damn, I really wanted to watch their fight."

Then he added, his tone firm, "But I won't drag you into reckless trouble just for my own whims."

Turning away decisively, he strode back toward the warship.

Of course he yearned to witness the battle — but he knew too well what would happen if he acted on that desire. Neither the Navy, nor the friend at his side, could forgive such recklessness.

He would not drag anyone else into the abyss, even if he himself longed for it.

Fujitora, hearing this, tilted his head toward the battlefield. Though blind, his senses painted for him the grand, terrifying scene of the monsters clashing.

He had known Green Bull since their early days in the North Blue, long before they were Admirals. He understood his friend's yearning all too well — and precisely because he understood, he stopped him.

The time simply had not yet come.

The two Kings noticed the Admirals' departure, yet showed not a trace of displeasure.

"Heh… with those nuisances gone, I can finally cut loose!"

The speaker was the green-haired man, Kraem (OC). From within his gray cloak, he pulled out a small pouch.

Reaching in, he scattered a handful of seeds at his feet, chuckling as he said:

"To be honest, I don't like barren islands like this — not a single blade of grass. But no matter. I brought my own."

Rumble… rumble…

The moment his words fell, the entire island began to quake violently. The ground heaved and bulged as if something beneath were awakening.

"Tch. What an irritating ability!"

Watching the display, Ghidorah couldn't help but recall the time he had used this very power, through machines, to build islands.

It had been such a constructive gift — yet here Kraem was twisting it into a weapon of destruction.

He loathed it… but deep down, he knew he himself was the true cause.

Even as that thought passed, the earth split and fresh grass erupted forth, growing at a shocking rate.

In the blink of an eye, half the island was carpeted in green. Trees sprouted skyward, lush and towering, until the barren wasteland had transformed into a dense forest.

And at its heart, Ghidorah was immediately ensnared by the trees and vines that lashed around his body.

"Heh heh heh…"

Standing within what looked like a nightmare version of Tree World Birth, Kraem showed not a shred of fear — only a cold smile.

In the monstrous forest, Ghidorah's wings unfurled.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

One after another, vines and trunks snapped apart.

Then, with a thunderous flap of his massive wings, a gale roared outward. Soil and grass tore free, mighty trees ripped up by the roots and hurled skyward.

"To tell the truth, this almost makes me nostalgic for the old days. I really don't want to destroy it all…"

Breaking free of the bindings, Ghidorah launched himself into the air. As long as he reached the skies, no matter how twisted Kraem's power was, it couldn't touch him.

But just as he began to rise —

Kraem crouched and slammed both hands into the earth.

"To face a monster like you… you think I'd let my guard down?"

The island quaked once more.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Four colossal vines erupted from the ground, lashing out like serpents. In an instant, they coiled around Ghidorah's limbs, climbing higher and higher.

In moments, the mighty beast was bound fast, his muscles bulging and straining, flesh protruding between the crushing coils.

Rumble!

Dragged down by the immense vines, Ghidorah was slammed back into the earth, flattening swathes of forest and hurling clouds of dust into the sky.

"This isn't over! This move was prepared just for you — I hope you'll enjoy it!"

Kraem showed no joy, only grim focus. With a sharp shout, he poured his will into the earth.

The island shuddered once again.

Around the place where Ghidorah had fallen, colossal leaves began to rise — each one hundreds of meters tall, forming the maw of a monstrous carnivorous plant.

From their surfaces oozed thick, viscous fluid, dripping down onto the surrounding foliage with a hiss. Wherever it fell, it corroded plants into nothingness.

It was a highly potent acid.

And slowly, inexorably, the four titanic leaves began to fold inward around Ghidorah.

If he were trapped within… even he might not escape without being flayed to the bone.
