Chapter 3 - Whispers of the Hidden Vein

At that moment, the sun had risen high, glittering like a diamond. A calm stillness covered the small village path, while the warm golden rays bathed the entire road in light.

Along that path, the sound of quiet footsteps spread as two dark silhouettes stretched forward. The two walked together, the gentle breeze rustling through the trees creating a melody that blended with their pace.

"Huang, what did Grand Lu say to you?" Wu Shi asked with a faint smile.

Huang lowered his head in silence, his voice carrying hidden doubt and uncertainty as he replied,"After you left, Grand Lu called me over… he kept watching me. I don't remember many details."

"It's fine, don't worry about it. Let's go ask Grand Lu himself later," Wu Shi said. Their conversation ended there, and the two of them returned to their homes.

"I'm back, Mother," Huang called out as he stepped inside. At that moment, his mother, Du Hai, asked, "Why are you home earlier than usual today?"

"Grand Lu told us to come home early, but I don't know the reason," Huang answered. Du Hai did not question further. She simply said, "Alright then, go have your lunch."

Later, Huang went into his room, recalling the unusual events of the day and pondering deeply over them. Worn out by both the incidents and his endless thoughts about them, he eventually drifted into sleep without realizing it.

The next morning…"Huang, hurry up! We need to leave quickly, time is running out. Let's go!" Wu Shi shouted as he reached Huang's house. Huang rushed outside at once, and the two set off together toward the farmlands.

"Mother, I'm leaving," Huang said.

"You two are here already?" Grand Lu asked as he saw Huang and Wu Shi approaching.

"Yes, Grand Lu. What are we doing today?" Huang asked.

"Good, now both of you stay here for a while. I have something to tell you today," Grand Lu spoke firmly, his tone commanding. Huang and Wu Shi stood face to face with him, their attention fully fixed.

Grand Lu turned to Huang and said, "Yesterday, when you came here, I sensed something unusual within your body. That's why I decided to examine you. At that moment, I felt a faint, weak power inside your mind—do you know what that was?"

Huang had no idea.

Grand Lu continued, "Yesterday, you told me you didn't take your usual route home. You said you went by another path, and while crossing a small slope, you fell down and were badly hurt. You also mentioned that you saw something there, didn't you?"

Huang nodded. "Yes… I saw something there, but I don't know what it was."

Grand Lu's eyes narrowed slightly. "That's the reason I called you both here today. What you carry is the Primordial Heavenly Spirit Vein—an ancient and extremely powerful energy essence of the lower realm, one that no one has ever truly encountered before. Though it belongs to the lower realm, for it to merge with a person's body, certain strict conditions must be met."

Huang's eyes widened in curiosity. "What are those conditions?" he asked.

Grand Lu replied, "For it to fuse into someone's body, two conditions must be fulfilled. First, the person must have suffered a life-threatening injury."

"Then… that means when I fell that day and was fatally wounded, the condition was met. Isn't that right, Grand Lu?" Huang asked nervously.

"Yes, that may be the case," Grand Lu admitted with uncertainty.

Then, in a solemn voice, Grand Lu spoke of the second condition:"Secondly, the person must possess, either innately or later through transformation, at least one of these unique traits. However, some of them cannot be gained later—they must be born with."

"Grand Lu, what are those traits?" Huang asked, his heart burning with deep curiosity.

Grand Lu's voice grew heavy with reverence as he declared,"First — Supreme Being Bones.Second — Heavenly Poison Body.Third — Celestial Dragon Eye.Fourth — Phoenix Bone Blood. At least one of these must exist within you."

"Then… Grand Lu, are you saying that one of these traits is within my body?" Huang asked doubtfully.

"It is possible," Grand Lu replied in a deep voice. "But I cannot say for certain. Without such a trait, there is no way for the essence to enter your body. Therefore… Huang, give me your hand. I will examine you."

Huang hesitated for a moment. But the burning need to find answers to his questions outweighed his doubts, and he extended his hand toward Grand Lu.

Grand Lu placed his hand on Huang's and gently channeled his spiritual energy into the boy's meridians. At first, he found nothing. But as he searched deeper, he sensed a faint signal near Huang's heart—like a small fragment of bone.

Grand Lu's expression stiffened. As he focused on that fragment, an undeniable truth struck his mind."This… this is the Supreme Being Bone!"

But he did not stop there. Probing further, he suddenly saw a crimson glow shining faintly within that very bone. Grand Lu's eyes widened, his heart restless.

"This… this cannot be happening!" he whispered to himself. "This child… how could he possibly harbor both the mighty Supreme Being Bone and the Phoenix Bone Blood within his body all this time?!"
