Yuma grinned excitedly and quickly scanned his Extra Deck. But after seeing the cards there, he was even more unsettled.
The cards in the Extra Deck were even more absurd! What were these? Utopia had so many strange new Xyz forms?
"Hey! What are you staring at? Make your move!"
"Are you scared, Yuma?" Kite taunted impatiently, watching Yuma's shocked expression. He knew that this Utopia deck was probably also far beyond their current understanding.
Yuma: "What's the rush? First, I activate the Spell Card, Onomatopickup! I'll add from my deck..."
Kite: "I chain the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from my hand! Your card's effect is negated!"

In that moment, the duelists from the six worlds finally understood why so many previous decks had included Ash Blossom. It all made sense now! They had seen Maxx "C" in action during the Stardust vs. Red Dragon Archfiend duel, but this was the first time they had witnessed Ash Blossom being used, and its impact was now clear to everyone.
Yuma frowned slightly. His search was gone, but that wasn't enough to stop him!
Yuma: "I'll keep going! I activate the Spell Card, Onomatopaira! I discard Dodododwarf Gogogoglove! From my deck, I'll add Zubababancho Gagagacoat and Utopic Onomatopoeia to my hand!"
Yuma: "Next, I Normal Summon Utopic Onomatopoeia! I activate its effect to Special Summon Zubababancho Gagagacoat from my hand—"
Before the effect could resolve, the effect of Photon Lord on Kite's field chained to it!
Kite: "It's useless, Yuma! I activate the effect of Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord! By detaching one Xyz Material, Galaxy Wizard, I negate the activation of your Utopic Onomatopoeia's effect and destroy it!"
Kite: "And with that, I activate Photon Lord's third effect! I add Galaxy Expedition from my deck to my hand!"
After the successful negation, Kite shot a smug look at Yuma. That one counter left many of the watching duelists pale. This Photon Lord was absurdly strong! A negate and a search in one!
Now Yuma was out of plays, right? He must be forced to end his turn now... right?
But before anyone could finish that thought, a strange smile appeared on Yuma's face. His previous move was just a bait to draw out Photon Lord's negation!
Now, the real combo begins!
Yuma: "So that's a first-turn negate, huh? Interesting. I activate the Spell Card, Monster Reborn! I revive Utopic Onomatopoeia from my Graveyard!"
Yuma: "Simultaneously, the effect of Dodododwarf Gogogoglove in my Graveyard activates, Special Summoning itself! Then, the effect of Zubababancho Gagagacoat in my hand activates, Special Summoning itself!"
Yuma: "Now I have three Level 4 monsters on my field!"
Yuma: "I build the Overlay Network! I overlay Gogogoglove and Utopic Onomatopoeia!"
Yuma: "Number 39! Xyz Summon!"
Yuma: "Number 39: Utopia Double!!!"
A single Monster Reborn had allowed Yuma to continue his explosive combo! Yuma glanced at his field and immediately activated Utopia Double's effect.
Yuma: "I activate the effect of Utopia Double! I add the Quick-Play Spell Double or Nothing! from my deck to my hand! At the same time, I gain the ability to immediately Xyz Summon a stronger monster by using this one as material!"
Astral: "Yuma! Now is the time! Summon that monster!"
Yuma: "I know! You don't have to tell me!"
Yuma: "I Xyz Summon using Utopia Double!"
Yuma: "Number 39! Bring forth even greater destructive power!"
Yuma: "Number 39: Utopia!!!"
Astral: "????"
What was that? Not that card! Why would you summon the base form of Utopia?! Are you planning to use it with Double or Nothing!?
Seeing Yuma's final summon, Astral was completely bewildered. But after a moment's thought, he understood Yuma's strategy.
If Utopia's ATK was increased, it would become 5000. The effect of Double or Nothing! doubles its current ATK, not its original ATK. This meant that Utopia's attack could soar to 10,000!
And on Kite's field, the only monster in Attack Position was Galaxy Photon Dragon, with 2000 ATK! If this attack went through, the 8000 points of battle damage would instantly wipe out all of Kite's Life Points and win him the duel!
Maybe Yuma's move wasn't wrong after all?!
With this realization, Astral calmed down and refocused on the duel.
Yuma: "Next! I activate the effect of Gagagacoat on my field to revive Utopic Onomatopoeia from my Graveyard!"
Yuma: "I now build the Overlay Network with Gagagacoat and Utopic Onomatopoeia!"
Yuma: "With two Level 4 monsters, I overlay and Xyz Summon! Appear in Defense Position, ZS - Utopic Sage!"
Yuma: "I activate the effect of Utopic Sage! By detaching two materials, I Special Summon ZW - Pegasus Twin Saber from my deck!"
Yuma: "Then, I equip ZW - Pegasus Twin Saber to my Number 39: Utopia! My Utopia's ATK increases to 6000!"
Seeing this, Kite knew exactly which monster Yuma was targeting. Clenching his teeth, he immediately flipped his face-down card.
Kite: "I activate my Trap Card! Galaxy Hundred!"
Kite: "I target my Galaxy Photon Dragon and use it to Xyz Summon a monster that is 4 Ranks higher!"
Kite: "Rank-Up Xyz Change! I summon in Defense Position, Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy!"
After careful consideration, Kite decided to activate it early. Hope Harbinger has 3000 DEF, and even if it couldn't survive an attack, its effect could negate a Spell Card! This would render Double or Nothing! useless!
But Yuma once again revealed that strange smile.
Yuma: "I knew that face-down wasn't so simple! I activate the Spell Card, Hyper-Rank-Up-Magic Utopiforce! I'll use Number 39: Utopia to perform a Rank-Up Xyz Summon!"
Kite: "Not so fast! I chain the effect of Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy! Once per turn, your Spell Card's effect is negated, and I can attach it to my monster as an Xyz Material!"
Yuma: "Oh? Is that so? (Sore wa dō ka na?)"
Yuma: "I'll continue the chain! I activate the effect of my Equip Monster, ZW - Pegasus Twin Saber! Once per turn, when a monster effect is activated on my opponent's field, I can negate that effect!"

The mental chess match and resource exchange played out in a rapid three-link chain.
Chain Link 3: Pegasus Twin Saber's effect resolves, negating Hope Harbinger's effect.
Chain Link 2: Hope Harbinger's effect is negated, so it cannot stop the spell.
Chain Link 1: Utopiforce's effect resolves successfully!
The 6000 ATK Utopia was used for a Rank-Up!
The duelists of the ZEXAL world were on the edge of their seats. Both players were constantly probing and countering each other. At this rate, it was impossible to say who would win!

Yuma: "Then, I activate the effect of Leo Utopia Ray! By detaching that material, I can Special Summon a second ZW - Pegasus Twin Saber from my deck!"
Yuma: "The effect of the new ZW - Pegasus Twin Saber equips itself to Leo Utopia Ray, increasing its ATK to 3500!"
Yuma: "My field is complete! Let's battle!"
Yuma: "Number 99: Utopia Dragonar, with 3000 ATK, attack and destroy the 3000 DEF Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy!"
Yuma: "Leo Utopia Ray, with 3500 ATK, attack and destroy the 3000 DEF Number 90: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord!"
Yuma: "Now that's what I call 'Feeling the Flow'! Hahaha!"
Yuma: "My turn is over! It's your move!"
At the end of his turn, Yuma had successfully reclaimed the advantage. Beside him, Astral shook his head helplessly. Ever since he had known Yuma, this was his flaw—sometimes he acted carelessly without thinking things through. Now, the tide of the duel was about to turn.
And so it did.
Kite: "I activate the other effect of Galaxy Summoner, which wasn't negated! I change the Level of Galaxy Soldier to 4!"
Kite: "I build the Overlay Network! With two Level 4 monsters, I Xyz Summon Galaxy Photon Dragon!"
Kite: "I activate the effect of Galaxy Photon Dragon! I send my second Photon Emperor from my deck to the Graveyard!"
Kite: "I activate the effect of Photon Emperor, Special Summoning it from the Graveyard in Defense Position!"
Kite: "I have two Level 8 monsters!"
Kite: "I overlay Photon Emperor and Afterglow Dragon!"
Kite: "Xyz Summon! Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"
Kite: "I continue! I overlay it to Xyz Summon! Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon!"
Kite: "I activate the effect of Full Armor, detaching Photon Emperor to destroy your Number 99: Utopia Dragonar!"
Yuma: "I activate the effect of ZS - Utopic Sage! I can destroy it instead to protect my monster!"

Kite: "My turn is over! At the end of the Battle Phase, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon and your Leo Utopia Ray return to the field!"
Kite: "It's your turn now, Yuma Tsukumo!"

With one final explosive combo, Kite had managed to completely reverse the situation using only the resources he had. His thought process was clear, and he cleverly used Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon's effect to banish Leo Utopia Ray, causing its Equip Spell to be sent to the Graveyard.
Without its equip, Leo Utopia Ray was now just a vanilla monster on the field.
