Soft light filled the room, and steam rose from cups of warm tea. The lounge on the warship was exceptionally quiet and cozy. Everyone sat together, the table laden with Dial samples and special snacks they had just bought from the Sky Island. The atmosphere was light and cheerful.
"Those Dials are incredible!" Luffy's eyes shone as he gestured wildly. "They can shoot wind, create shockwaves, and even record sounds! If we installed these on the warship, it would be so much fun!"
Ace leaned back in his chair, chewing on some cloud-sea dried fruit, and nodded with a smile. "And that sky fish was delicious. The meat was so tender and juicy, even better than the fish from the Blue Sea!"
"Skypiea is definitely magical," Zoro said, crossing his arms, but his tone gradually grew serious. "But that girl, Conis... she was clearly terrified when she mentioned 'Enel'."
Kuina also frowned. "And the museum being suddenly closed can't be a coincidence. She was vague, but I get the feeling someone is deliberately covering up Skypiea's history."
Law, who had been silent for a long time, finally spoke, his voice low. "There's something wrong with this Sky Island."
Everyone froze, their eyes turning to him.
Law didn't look at them, but turned to Roy, his gaze sharp. "From Conis's reaction, 'Enel' has far more control over Skypiea than we estimated. The so-called 'entrance fee' from the White Berets wasn't just about money; it was a way to screen outsiders."
"Screening?" Ace frowned.
"Perhaps to identify who might threaten their rule," Law said calmly. "And the fact that we were 'allowed' to pass was probably intentional."
Kuina nodded slightly. "I had a similar feeling. Conis approached us, but her eyes weren't entirely honest... It wasn't a warm welcome, but one tinged with worry."
"Oh?" Roy half-closed his eyes, leaning back in his chair. "And what kind of problem do you think there might be?"
"Captain Roy," Law said, looking directly at him, his tone firm. "You noticed it long ago, didn't you?"
Roy stretched and gave a noncommittal smile. "Don't be so tense. You'll find out soon enough."
"Huh? What are you guys talking about?" Luffy asked, completely lost. Ace just scratched his hair and didn't ask further.
"Hmph. Whatever comes, we'll deal with it. I'll just cut them down," Zoro snorted, laying his sword across his lap and closing his eyes to rest.
As the night deepened, the clouds churned outside the ship. An unusual adventure was quietly beginning...
The Next Day · Entrance to Angel Island
Morning light filtered through the clouds, casting a golden glow on the cloud roads of Angel Island. The group once again set foot on the island. The air was fresh, and the angel statue still stood in the distance.
However, as soon as they reached the entrance, a familiar figure came into view.
Conis stood there, her hands clasped in front of her, a smile on her face that seemed forced, as if she were suppressing some emotion. "Good morning, everyone," she said with a slight bow, her voice soft.
Kuina keenly noticed the panic in her eyes and asked softly, "Miss Conis... were you waiting for us?"
"Yes..." Conis nodded, managing a weak smile. "I wanted to take you to see 'God's Ordeal Grounds.' It's the most spectacular attraction in Skypiea!"
"Ordeal Grounds?" Luffy's eyes lit up. "Sounds exciting!"
But Law and Kuina exchanged a look, a sense of alarm rising in their hearts. Their instincts told them that this was not normal.
Roy, however, still smiled relaxedly. "Then please lead the way, Miss Conis!"
The group followed Conis along the cloud road. She walked in front, but her pace was noticeably slower, the hem of her dress trembling slightly in the wind, her fingers clenched so tightly her knuckles were white.
Kuina couldn't help but walk up to her and ask softly, "Miss Conis... are you alright?"
Conis's steps faltered, and her shoulders trembled slightly. After a long moment, she lowered her head, her voice barely audible. "I'm sorry... I can't take you there..."
Everyone was stunned.
"It's not an attraction. It's the battlefield for 'God's Ordeal'..." she finally looked up, her eyes filled with tears, her voice choked with sobs. "If you go... you will die..."
The air instantly froze.
"I... I didn't mean to lie to you!" Her voice trembled like a leaf in the wind. "But... the Priests ordered me to do this... If I don't, my father will also..." Before she could finish, she burst into tears, nearly collapsing onto the cloud ground.
The moment Conis spoke the truth—
BOOM!!!
The sky roared in anger. A blinding bolt of lightning tore through the clouds, descending with destructive force, aimed directly at Conis!
"Watch out!" Kuina, who was beside her, reacted instinctively, pulling Conis out of the way.
The lightning crashed behind them like a ferocious beast, the air instantly distorting with heat. A massive, charred crater was blasted into the ground, thick smoke billowing out as the cloud surface trembled violently.
Before they could recover from the shock, a low, arrogant voice echoed from high above, reverberating across Angel Island. "Oh? To survive 'God's Judgment'?"
Everyone looked up sharply. High in the sky, a figure floated above the rolling thunderclouds.
Enel was bare-chested, his golden eyes like condensed lightning, his earlobes hanging to his chest. The metal drums on his back looked like divine instruments, and lightning coiled and danced around him like a manifestation of a god. His expression was languid, a playful smile on his lips, as if all life was nothing but dust in his eyes.
"How unexpected... even you have begun to betray God, Conis," Enel said, looking down at her, his voice calm but chilling. "Even a dog knows to obey its master."
Conis's face was deathly pale, her body trembling uncontrollably. "No... no... I just... they aren't bad people—"
"Silence!" Enel's eyes turned cold. He raised his hand, and lightning gathered at his fingertips, flashing violently. "Since you have chosen betrayal, then you shall receive God's judgment along with these ants from the Blue Sea!"
At that moment, four figures appeared in the sky from four directions, surrounding the group.
Ohm held his "Iron Cloud Sword," his eyes as cold as ice. Shura, dressed in heavy cotton clothes out of place in Skypiea, wielded a Heat Spear. Gedatsu, with his spider-leg-like hair, lurked within a viscous "Swamp Cloud." Satori sat cross-legged on a cloud, his body fat as a ball, grinning widely.
The sky pressed down, the thunderclouds roiled, and it felt as if the very air was being bent by the lightning.
Enel spread his arms, and golden lightning erupted behind him like a descending thunder god. The entire sky trembled under his pressure.
"Everything in Skypiea belongs to me, God!" his voice echoed across the sea of clouds, as irresistible as a divine decree.
"Your existence is blasphemy!"
"Your every breath is a sin!"
He slowly raised his hand, his five fingers spread, lightning dancing at his fingertips.
"And I shall personally purify you!"
BOOM!!!
Before he finished speaking, lightning surged like ten thousand dragons, roaring as it tore through the heavens, turning the entire sky into a violent prison of thunder.
At that moment, Roy tilted his head slightly, a mocking smile on his lips. "My, my... don't scare me, 'so-called God'~" He took a step back, his eyes sharp as blades. He waved a hand, his voice unhurried but like the beat of a war drum.
"Alright, kids. The ordeal has begun!"
SWOOSH!!!
Behind him, five figures erupted with power. A storm swept through the clouds, and the curtain rose on the battle in the sky.
