No matter how much I tried, sleep eluded me. I'd shut my eyes and opened them a thousand times that night, whilst tossing and turning on Kayden's bed--I was glad he hadn't offered staying in bed with me, because that would have been awkward as hell.
Each time I was slowly drifting into my slumber, a haunting image of flames engulfing me would invade my mind, followed by the sounds of deafening whispering chants that I couldn't understand.
My eyes opened as I gasped sharply, scanning my surroundings. The room was dark. I couldn't see the three of them, but I could hear their slight breaths as they slept.
So they actually sleep?
Suddenly, my body temperature began to rise. I didn't know if the room had become a hundred more degree hotter or I'd imagined it, but the hot feeling was real.
I stirred in bed, trying not to make noise to wake them up as I fought through the hot sensation overwhelming me.
