Chapter 69 - Relic Hunt

I dug my heels into the floor, ripping my arm from Talia's as the door swung open, Mira walking in.

"What's going on?"

"Where is it?" I groaned, crouching as I stuck my head under the bed.

"Woah, chill girl," Talia said, muttering something about bigger fish to fry.

I rolled my eyes, stomping back to the bed, "Listen. It's just really really important."

"Have you seen it?"

"Seen what?" They both chorused as Aleah popped her head through the door.

"What's going o–"

"My dad's journal," I said, turning away from them as I ripped the sheets away from my bed.

Mira shook her head, gingerly picking up the sheets I had thrown.

"Talia, what about you–"

"Wolves, make your way to the arena. Final calls."

Talia shook her head, leaning lazily against the door.

Aleah stepped into the room, grabbing me by the shoulders as she turned me around.

"Hey, hey… look at me. Deep breaths, okay?" I focused on the steady rise and fall of her chest, following her rhythm.
