Everything happened in a blur. One second, I was in Kayden's arms and the next, he wasn't there.
Kayden charged at the assailant with the speed of lightning with his fist. The impact of his punch echoed like a gunshot, and I stood frozen, eyes widened as my breath hitched.
The man hit the ground hard. Before he could recover, Kayden hauled him by the collar and drove his fist into the man's already broken nose. The sickening crunch of bones breaking, followed by a spray of blood on the ground made me squirm.
But Kayden didn't stop.
He unleashed blow after blow, mercilessly. He was like a violent powerhouse, running without an off-switch button. The man couldn't barely get a hit back. He couldn't even cry out or yell in pain, he just choked and gurgled on his blood.
Desperate to survive, he only successfully landed a blow on Kayden's jaw. But Kayden was unshakable like he was immune to pain.
