Chapter 48 - King's Counsel

The boardroom was a masterpiece of modern design, a testament to the sheer scale of Stacy's ambition. I sat in my own office, the co-chairperson's suite, a space as large as a basketball court. A massive desk of dark wood, a premium leather chair, and a panoramic view of Grand Metropolis from the top floor of the tallest building in the city. I sat there, alone in the huge, silent room, and I could feel the intoxicating pleasure of power, of position.

'Congratulations, Host, for achieving a big milestone,' the System's voice echoed in my mind.

I listened, a slow smile spreading across my face.

'The way is still very long,' it continued, 'but you have come a long way. From a boy in a dumpster to a man in this big office with the position of co-founder.'

"It's with your help, System," I said aloud, my voice a low murmur in the quiet room. "I still don't know who you are or what you need from me, but you are literally helping me to improve."

'Don't worry, Host. We will meet soon. And don't thank me. We are just doing our end of the deal. I help you, you help me.'

I savored the feeling of ecstasy for a few more moments before I stood up. It was time to work, to solidify my position with each and every person in my new court.

My first stop was my mom's office. I entered to find her standing on the balcony, her hands gripping the railing as she stared out at the city. She looked powerful in her new role, but I could still feel the struggle within her, a fragile tension in the set of her shoulders.

I walked up and stood beside her. "You were doing amazing out there, Adam," she said without turning, her voice a soft murmur. "A true leader. A proper man. I am so proud of you."

I turned her to face me, my gaze direct and unwavering. "Mom, I know what you're thinking." She got nervous, her eyes darting away, unable to meet mine. "What I did, what I said… I was totally honest about everything. I know you think this is wrong, that it violates some established societal rules." I took a deep breath, the words I had been holding back finally spilling out, raw and unfiltered. "I am not telling you to forget our established relationship, a son and a mother. I will always be the son who protects you. But I want to build a new one. A relationship where we are just Joyce and Adam."

Her eyes teared up, her expression a mask of confusion and a deep, profound conflict. She couldn't come up with anything to say, her mind clearly at war with her heart.

"Don't worry," I said, my voice softening, giving her the space she needed. "I am waiting for your answer. But Joyce, I want to say, please consider my feelings. I love you a lot. I love you so much, and you are so precious to me."

After saying everything, I left her there on the balcony, her entire world tilting on its axis. I went straight to my aunt's office.

I entered to find her looking around her new space, a look of dazed, almost disbelieving wonder on her face. I walked up and wrapped my arms around her from behind, resting my chin on her shoulder. "I promised you," I whispered, "that I would help you fulfill your dream. Now, what do you think, Miss Christine Holmes? My favorite person, my inspiration, my hope, and my bravery."

She turned in my arms, burying her face in my chest, and started sobbing, her elegant composure finally breaking. "Adam, why are you so sweet?" she cried, her voice muffled against my shirt. "I just don't have the words to say. I can finally continue my dream and build something where there is no corruption. I was so hopeless when I left modeling. My life was meaningless." She pulled back, her tear-streaked face looking up at mine. "You are wrong. I am not your hope and inspiration; you are my hope. You are my anchor, you are my motivation. You are my most cherished nephew."

When she said the word 'nephew,' a shadow of sadness crossed her face, a familiar, painful barrier rising between us. "If only we were not related."

I embraced her tighter, my own voice a low, fierce growl. "I don't care about anyone. I don't care about society. You are more important to me than any unknown person. You can get everything you desire, so why are you backing off now? Christine Holmes gets what she wants. You need to believe in yourself, and I am here to support you. Just take one step, Christine."

My words froze her. Her eyes were still filled with tears, flowing silently down her cheeks, but she made no sound. I left her there, her mind a whirlwind of conflict and a dawning, terrifying hope.

Next, I went to meet Isabel. She was ecstatic, spinning in her new office chair, a wide, infectious grin on her face. I grabbed her from behind, my own smile matching hers. "You know what?" I murmured, my lips brushing against her ear. "You look so sexy."

She turned her face towards me, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Looks like someone is excited. Now, I finally know your fetish."

"What fetish?" I asked, playing along.

"You have a cosplay fetish," she said, her voice a playful purr. "Last time, that erotic gamer girl outfit, and now this office outfit. My brother is very naughty."

I picked her up by the ass and put her on the table. "From the moment I saw you this morning, I wanted to do something," she said, her voice dropping to a husky whisper as she wrapped her legs around my waist. "Come on, Adam. Pound your very naughty stepsister."

"Are we roleplaying?" I asked, a grin spreading across my face.

"Just shut up and fuck me," she said, her eyes blazing with a raw, possessive desire. "I want to feel something that I am so proud of. My very own ten-inch dick."

"As you wish, ma'am," I replied, my own voice a low growl. I pulled down my pants, and then I saw it. Her panties were crotchless, a deliberate, tantalizing invitation she had clearly planned.

"Do you love my gift, Chairperson?" she asked, her voice a lewd, playful whisper. "Will I get a promotion?"

"It depends on your performance, Miss Wilson," I said, my own voice thick with lust.

"Then let me show you my performance," she said, widening her legs. "Chairperson, what do you think about my performance?"

I pressed my dick into her, my voice a possessive rumble. "Let me check it out, Miss Wilson."

I started pounding her, fucking her right there on her new desk. I kissed her, a deep, passionate kiss, and she moaned in pleasure, her body moving in perfect sync with mine. We climaxed together, a shared, explosive release that left us both breathless.

"We will continue later," she gasped, her voice a little weak. "This might be enough for now, Chairperson."

I kissed her one last time. "Miss Wilson, my secretary position is vacant. If you want, you can join."

"This is fun," she said, a wicked smile on her face. "The roleplay." She dressed herself, and I did the same. "Now we both know we have a weird, unique fetish: roleplay and cosplay."

She winked. "I'll give you a surprise later."

From Isabel's office, I went to Lily's. I entered, and she greeted me with a warm, amused smile. "Welcome, Chairperson."

"I can't believe one proposal can change so many things," she said, shaking her head in wonder as she poured two glasses of wine. "First, I got my first love. Then a new job, a new life, a partnership. How many more surprises do you have for me, my king?"

I looked at her with a grin, taking the glass she offered. "This is just the start. We have a very long way to travel."

"And how is your arsenal of queens?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with a knowing light. "I can see that every single woman, from your stepmom to Stacy, all have intimate feelings for you. Some have clarity, some are still finding it, and some are oblivious to their own feelings."

"You might be right," I said confidently.

"I'm not going to restrict you," she continued, her voice turning serious, but not jealous. "But you have to work harder. Because if a person can't manage his own home and his empire, then he is unsuccessful as a king."

I looked into her eyes, then leaned in and kissed her. "What do you like about me?" I murmured against her lips. "My chaotic nature, or my innocence?"

She smiled. "I like both parts. But what made me fall for you was your chaotic, fearless nature."

I gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. This king will not let down his queen or his empire."

Afterward, I went to my next destination. I entered Tiffany's office and sat down in front of her.

"You know," she said, her voice a cool, analytical monotone, "I gave my report to my mom. She said you are a master strategist. But I corrected her. You are a ruler."

I just smiled.

"You defeated me," she continued, "and then formed a power difference, but at the same time, you praised me. I can see you are playing a very good game."

"Then what conclusion have you come to?" I asked.

"You are a brilliant leader," she said, a hint of genuine respect in her voice.

"Miss Watson," I said, my own voice turning serious. "When you first came, you were arrogant. But now, you are cooperating with us. I am really amazed. I know that if there is anyone other than me who has the capabilities to lead, it's you. Thus, I let you be the Vice-Leader. I also expect many things from you, because setting up just an investment firm is not the end."

"Then what?" she asked, a flicker of curiosity in her cold eyes.

"Real estate, banking, film production," I said, my voice a low, ambitious hum. "I have so many ideas."

"You are ambitious," she said, a hint of a smile on her lips. "And I like that trait of yours." She paused. "But I have a doubt."

"What?" I asked.

"As you said, you will handle the Friedrich and Lina matter. What's your plan? I won't tell anyone, not even my mom. I'm just curious."

"You might not be able to handle it," I said, my voice turning cold.

"I am damn sure you are not going to kill them," she replied.

"I am going after the women in their families," I said, a devilish smile spreading across my face.

She was shocked. "You mean… you are trying to acquire the Colson group, and a powerful figure in the police department?"

I just ignored her question and went outside, leaving her to ponder the true, ruthless nature of my ambition.

I went to Anna next. She was engrossed in some tech work, her fingers flying across a keyboard. I sat beside her. "You should also rest," I said gently.

She looked up at me, her amber eyes wide. "Adam, I'm just working on something."

"Anna," I said, my voice soft. "I know how much pressure you have, but don't push yourself. You are doing amazing."

She looked moved. She hugged me, her small frame trembling slightly. "Adam, you are the best senior. I don't want to be a burden on you or anyone else. Thus, I am giving my best."

I patted her head. "Anna, you are my best asset in the guild. Don't ever belittle yourself." I consoled her for a few more moments, and she suddenly dozed off, her head resting on my shoulder. I already knew she was tired. I let her sleep on the sofa, whispering in her ear, "Good night, my cute junior," while I stroked her hair.

Then, I went to my last destination. I entered Stacy's office to find her gazing out the window. I stood beside her.

"I was thinking about something," she said, her voice a low murmur.

"What?" I asked.

"You know, I was thinking about our exes," she said. "Lina and Charles."

"She betrayed you," Stacy continued, "and here you are, orchestrating the demise of her family. I betrayed Charles, and I am still having the most perfect man in the world. I thought about it. You are intelligent, daring, strategic, promising, and committed. You are everything Charles could never be. And obviously, I am thinking my ex has a limp dick, and now I am standing beside a man with a monstrous dick of ten inches."

I got cold feet.

"I didn't investigate your private life with Isabel," she said, a sly smile on her face. "I heard the conversation Isabel was having with her friends, Maya and Chloe. The way she was explaining it… huge cock, insatiable, limitless stamina. Really amazing."

I was embarrassed, thinking, What the hell did Isabel tell her friends?

"I am really happy you helped me to leave that bastard Charles," she continued, her voice turning serious. "You are a true alpha male. I can see my dream becoming a reality. My mother was the third wife of my father, and she belonged to a poor family. Thus, she was always treated like a maid, even in her own home. I was always mistreated, belittled by my cousins. My father never accepted me as his daughter. Thus, I want to become the chairperson. I bet him that I would prove that I could handle more than him. In the beginning, I thought you were just a pawn. After knowing what happened to you, I felt bad for you, but I was amazed that a weak boy could change himself so much. You are my hope. You are not a pawn; you are a king. A real king. I want to become one of your queens in this world-changing quest."

She took a deep breath. "I love you. I want to be with you in your ups and downs. Please."

She looked at me, and I could feel her sincerity, her innocent confession. I don't know what moved in me, but I leaned in and kissed her. We were mutually accepting each other, signing a contract through our souls. After I pulled back, I said, "Finally, I got my answer, Stacy."

And we were embracing each other, two rulers who had finally found their equal.
