Chapter 92 - Batman vs. Gino

Crack!

The sharp Batarang, made of refined steel, was easily bent and twisted.

And those pale hands were completely unharmed.

It seemed that those hands were far more durable than steel.

Clang!

The crumpled Tekkai fell onto the stone slab, making a crisp sound.

Gino clapped his hands, tilted his head, and stared, as if saying, "Is that all you've got?"

The bright lights shone on Batman. He spoke in a low voice, "Those people, did you kill them?"

"Oh, I killed them, so what?"

Gino shrugged, his attitude deliberately antagonistic, a "heh heh" laugh escaping from beneath the pure white mask.

"So, you killed them," Batman stated, his tone shifting to a declaration.

Gino didn't respond to Batman, instead continuing his own train of thought. "You know?"

"Every Saturday, your Gotham Gazette has a small section, a lifestyle column called 'Gotham Is….'"

"In this column, randomly selected Gotham citizens complete the sentence 'Gotham is…'."

"I've been looking through the papers these past few weeks."

Gino leaned languidly against the cold wall, saying, "They say Gotham is…"

"Damn it."

"Cursed."

"Asylum."

"Murderous."

"It's hopeless, it's vicious, the odds are slim."

"These answers are all interesting."

"But none of them are what I believe the answer to be."

His voice gradually rose, and his originally languid posture vanished. He straightened his back and lifted his head.

Spreading his arms wide, the fluorescent lights shone behind him, making his silhouette appear to be bathed in a beautiful halo.

Gino raised his arms high, his voice booming, "In my opinion, Gotham is fascinating!"

"The rot at its core is constantly breeding and nurturing new lunatics."

"They scream, they laugh, they celebrate their wickedness around Gotham!"

"I love Gotham so much!" Gino roared with laughter.

This wasn't because he was insane or had been infected with Joker's laughing gas.

It was because if you were to rank the villains of the world, no one could surpass the city of Gotham.

The famous Gotham City, brimming with talent at Arkham.

These villains were all walking negative integrals, and how could that not make Gino happy!?

"You're insane."

Batman's voice was low as he looked at the guy who was laughing out loud.

"Now, the only thing you need to do is go into Arkham Asylum and get treatment!"

Batman's killjoy words interrupted Gino's performance. The youth put his arms down somewhat helplessly and said with a light laugh, "That's the only thing I don't like about you, Bat."

"The Joker is right, you're always too serious."

"Why don't you laugh more?"

His words were like a heavy hammer slamming into Batman's heart.

Being a natural skeptic, he immediately started to consider whether he knew someone called "Joker," and then the relationship between Joker and this guy.

Batman felt increasingly tense, sensing an invisible net slowly spreading out from the other person.

"Alright, let's get down to business, Bat-brat."

Gino rubbed his neck, his eyes under the mask gazing at Bruce: "You said you were going to throw me into Arkham Asylum, but reality is cruel."

"How are you going to bring me to justice?"

"With your ridiculous Batarangs?"

Gino started walking towards Batman slowly.

One step, two steps. As the distance closed, a terrifying aura and killing intent rose from the masked man. Batman clenched his fists, his breathing quickened, his body tensed, and his pupils constricted.

In the next instant, both men moved.

"Whoosh!"

Batman's cape sliced through the air with a sharp sound. He used the fabric to obscure his opponent's vision, then spun, unleashing a powerful right leg kick aimed at the side of the man's face.

The moment the fight began, Batman, a master of combat and strategy, had already formulated his plan.

Just hit the jaw's nerve, then use an elbow to lock onto the neck, applying eleven pounds of pressure to induce asphyxiation.

"Swish."

The black cape flew out, striking at his opponent. Batman executed a perfect "golden cicada shedding its shell," like a predator pouncing on its prey.

"Crack!"

The arms clamped around the neck, muscles bulging as they strained.

Enough force to snap a neck was applied to the opponent.

But, Batman felt like he was squeezing a piece of Tekkai.

Not only did his opponent not budge, he even heard a sneer coming from beneath the mask: "Too weak."

This was the second time Gino had said this, and he was starting to get bored.

The current Bat-brat was still far too weak.

Before experiencing the "training" from Scarecrow, Two-Face, and the Joker, Batman was just a greenhorn.

"Snap!"

A cold arm clamped onto Batman's wrist, and a terrifying force surged from the arm, spreading throughout his entire arm.

"Boom!"

Gino used a classic back throw to hurl Batman behind him.

Like a cannonball, Batman slammed into the wall.

"Cough, cough!"

Batman opened his mouth and coughed up two mouthfuls of blood.

Pain. His internal organs felt like they were on fire.

The black chest armor was dented, stained with red blood.

Every bone ached.

His legs trembled uncontrollably, but a storm raged within Batman's heart.

One punch, just one punch!

That terrifying power gave Batman a new understanding of the mysterious figure. The opponent's strength was far beyond his current capabilities.

The mysterious figure's voice took on a slightly flippant tone: "Is that all? How could I lose?"

As he spoke, Gino slowly approached Batman, who was struggling to his feet, leaning against the wall.

"I need to help you grow, Bat. Don't refuse this gift."

Before the words had even faded, an arm suddenly clamped around Batman's neck, effortlessly lifting him up and slamming him against the wall.

His cheek slowly pressed against the bat-mask, and his voice was like a phantom's: "Remember today's nightmare, Bat-brat!"

Clap! He freed a hand and hooked it under Batman's legs, slowly lifting him up.

"Ugh?" Batman wanted to struggle, but that punch had already left his body unable to resist.

He watched himself being lifted.

Then!

Crack!

The sound of something like bones breaking echoed through the empty corridor, accompanied by Batman's pained wail.

Thud!

Like a stray dog that had lost its spine, Batman collapsed painfully to the ground. The extreme agony caused him to clench his teeth so hard that his gums began to bleed.

"Ding, Negative emotions from Batman +1000, +1000."

Gino watched the man, who had fallen unconscious due to the pain.

In the last moment before Bruce lost consciousness, he vaguely heard the voice say, "Remember tonight, Bat. Remember this fear, and then become stronger. Next time, don't disappoint me again."
