Jino got the assassin's outfit from Luo Lun. At Jino's request, Luo Lun also introduced him to several of the city's most renowned tailors.
It was late at night in Gotham.
Jino walked along the street.
The red-light district was a riot of lights and sounds. Prostitutes, listless addicts, and drunken alcoholics sprawled on the sidewalks in a drunken stupor.
The seductive laughter of the women, the angry roars of gamblers after a loss, these sounds created a chaotic yet unique beauty for this city of sin.
The air in this red-light district was thick with a pungent smell, mixed with various odors of vomit. But the people here, looking for pleasure, were already used to it. Each of them wore a happy smile, but from their vacant eyes, you could see the confusion deep within their hearts.
Jino bought a simple Bat Mask from a stall and put it on.
"Sir, would you like a newspaper? Only one dollar."
A wave of laughter erupted from the tavern after he spoke, the mocking smiles carrying far beyond the doors.
Jino continued walking forward. Suddenly, a slender girl blocked his path.
"Mister, wanna have some fun?"
She wore a large brown trench coat, and as she spoke, she opened it to reveal a lacy outfit underneath.
"No, you're too ugly."
Jino flatly refused.
"Fuck you!" Hearing Jino's words, the girl flipped him off, expressing her warm regards. Then, she turned and walked toward another man down the street.
"Mister, wanna have some fun?"
Jino glanced at the two talking and was about to leave when he saw a burly middle-aged man rush out of the corner.
He was wearing a white suit, looking like a nouveau riche.
"Fuck!"
The man seemed to be the girl's pimp, roughly grabbing her wrist.
"Look at this guy, he's dressed like a cop!"
Jino also glanced at the man who was stopped by the pimp.
The other party was wearing a fedora and clean, tidy jeans, but he had a brown trench coat on his upper body.
To be honest, it was a bit odd to be wearing this in the summer night.
"I'm not a cop," Jino heard the man slowly say.
\n\n
But, several burly thugs, wielding various weapons, surrounded him.
\n\n
"Someone's in trouble," Jino said, turning away. He had already reached his destination, a tailor shop.
\n\n
Jino entered the shop. He removed his Bat Mask, revealing his true face, and explained his request to the owner.
\n\n
After activating his "Money" ability, the owner said he could pick it up at noon tomorrow.
\n\n
Ding-ling.
\n\n
Jino pushed open the shop door and walked out.
\n\n
The fight was still going on in the street not far away.
The young man Jino, whom he'd seen earlier, stood in the middle of the road, his fists moving with incredible speed. He was a skilled fighter, and thugs were constantly being knocked down by his blows, groaning and screaming on the ground.
The streetwalker he'd seen a moment ago seemed frozen in place, and her boss clearly hadn't expected the cop to be so tough.
Seeing the young man charging towards them, the man gritted his teeth and shoved the girl standing in front of him towards Jino.
It seemed Jino had no intention of harming the woman; he used his right hand to gently push her aside.
But, from Jino's perspective, he'd already noticed the small dagger hidden in the streetwalker's sleeve.
Swish!
Taking advantage of the moment when the young man's back was turned, the girl drew her knife and launched a sneak attack.
The sharp blade gleamed under the neon lights.
"Aiya!"
She let out a piercing scream, arching her body and wildly brandishing the dagger, aiming to stab the young man's right leg.
The next second.
"Psh!"
The dagger plunged into the youth's thigh!
The sharp blade sliced through the jeans, tearing the skin and piercing the flesh.
"Argh!" The youth let out a scream, instinctively kicking at the woman.
The immense force struck the streetwalker in the abdomen, causing her to grunt and stumble backward before falling.
The situation was chaos.
The bloodstained jeans made the youth's expression grim.
The thugs who had been running away saw the youth injured and regrouped, brandishing their weapons as they charged at him again.
Watching the chaotic crowd, Jino took a step to leave, but the next second.
A cold voice echoed in the boy's mind.
[Negative emotions from Bruce Wayne +10, +10]
"Bruce Wayne." Jino paused, his gaze returning to the crowd.
Looking at Bruce Wayne entangled with the thugs, the man seemed to be wearing makeup and colored contact lenses, bearing no resemblance to the man Jino had seen in the newspaper.
Jino was somewhat silent.
It was hard to imagine that the future, world-renowned Dark Knight, the Justice League's super-brain, was currently locked in a fight with a group of thugs.
And, moreover, he'd been stabbed in the femoral artery by a streetwalker.
Through his vision, Jino could see the wound on Bruce's right leg gushing blood. In a short while, the guy would go into shock from blood loss.
One could only say that the fledgling Bruce Wayne was still too green. He was perhaps still a long way from becoming the city's Bat-Signal.
Jino dismissed the idea of leaving. He even had the leisure to take out his phone and record the fight.
This was a moment of the future Batman's embarrassment, and Jino felt it had some value as a collector's item.
Of course, that was just a casual thing. The reason he stayed was to harvest points from Bruce.
Jino fiddled with his fingers, leaning against the wall, listening to the constant +10 sounds in his mind.
"Beep beep~"
The wail of police cars sliced through the chaos of the street.
It was hard to believe, but it had been almost thirty minutes since the fight started before Gotham's police finally arrived on the scene.
Hearing the sirens blare in the red-light district, thugs who knew the ways of Gotham's corrupt cops scattered, leaving only Bruce Wayne standing in place, his fists stained with blood.
"Hey!"
Two black cops in dark blue uniforms drew their pistols from their waists.
For Gotham's police, the best way to deal with trouble was to eliminate it.
They raised their guns, aiming them at the man.
They pressed their index fingers on the triggers, choosing to shoot without hesitation.
Bang!
The spent shell ejected from the chamber, and a bullet shot out of the muzzle, accompanied by a wisp of smoke.
Bruce widened his eyes. The training he received from the League of Assassins made him instinctively crouch down, trying to dodge the bullets.
A grimy kid blocked Jino's path.
Kids in Gotham were all
