Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A Typical Day

Adelaide walked down the hallway with Remi, laughing and chatting about their weekend plans. The sun streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow over the bustling corridors.

As they approached their lockers, Ethan caught her eye. He had had a crush on her for a while, and Adelaide appreciated his friendly nature, even if she didn't feel the same way. She smiled politely as he said hello.

Remi teased her about Ethan's obvious admiration as they switched out their books. "You're so popular, Addie! Ethan can't stop staring."

Adelaide playfully rolled her eyes. "Remi, stop. He's just being nice."

Their conversation was interrupted by the bell signaling the start of class. As they headed to their next period, Adelaide's thoughts turned to her family. She was looking forward to seeing her parents and siblings, Liam and Charlotte, after school. Maybe they could work on a project together or have a family game night.

The day flew by quickly, with Adelaide enjoying her classes and catching up with friends. As the final bell rang, she gathered her belongings and met Remi at the entrance.

"Hey, want to come over for dinner?" Adelaide asked, already knowing her parents would love having Remi over.

Remi grinned. "Sounds like fun! I'll ask my mom and let you know."

Adelaide smiled, feeling grateful for her loving family and close friends.

As Adelaide and Remi stood by the entrance, discussing their plans for the evening, their friend Casey jogged over to them. "Hey, guys! I just heard the most amazing gossip," Casey said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Adelaide raised an eyebrow. "What's the scoop?"

Casey leaned in, a conspiratorial look on her face. "Apparently, the school's basketball team is going to perform at the spring talent show. And rumor has it, they're going to do a slam dunk competition!"

Remi's eyes widened. "That sounds epic! Are you going to try out?"

Casey shook her head. "No way, I'm just here for the drama. But you guys should totally come and support the team. It'll be so much fun!"

Adelaide grinned. "Definitely, we'll be there. Maybe we can even get Liam and Charlotte to come and cheer them on."

Casey smiled. "Awesome idea! I'll make sure to save you guys some seats."

As they chatted, the three friends laughed and joked, enjoying each other's company. The stress of schoolwork and exams seemed to fade away in the face of their friendship and the excitement of the upcoming talent show.
