Chapter 66 - 66

The school day ended, but Ren didn't go home. He had a mission, a new path to walk down. He was on his way to the Service Club, his steps light and purposeful. As he turned a corner, he saw her. Yukino Yukinoshita, with her elegant gait and her signature black hair. A wave of anticipation washed over him. He started to approach her, a friendly greeting on his lips, but she walked right past him as if he didn't exist. She didn't even spare him a glance.

This was a first for Ren. Since his transmigration, no one had ever ignored him. He was a beacon of charm, a magnet for attention, and yet, here was a woman who was immune to his aura. It was a refreshing challenge, one that his logical, calculating mind had expected. Yukino, with her sharp wit and her guarded heart, was not the type to fall easily for a handsome face. Her life experiences and her deeply ingrained sense of logic were her greatest defense, a shield against people like him. It was because of this that she hadn't fallen for Hayato Hayama's charm in the original story. She was a woman who valued substance over superficiality. Ren didn't mind. This only fueled his resolve. He would win her over not with a ticket, but with his own charm and wit.

Ren followed her in a respectful distance until they arrived at the Service Club room. As they stood in front of the door, it opened and Hachiman and Yui appeared. They all froze for a second, surprised to see each other. Ren simply gave a small nod, and they all entered the room.

Yui and Yukino immediately took their places at the table, a comfortable familiarity in their movements. Hachiman, however, sat a little further away, leaning against the window, his eyes filled with his usual cynical expression. Ren decided to sit beside him. If he were to describe himself in his past life, he was a lot like Hachiman. He was a cynical loner who had a hard time trusting people. He even admitted that watching Oregairu in his past life had contributed to his belief that people were not to be trusted. He had learned from Hachiman's mistakes. He knew how to be a villain for the greater good, but he was also starting to learn that there was a better way.

As Ren sat down, he looked at Yui. He had to be careful. He knew she was falling for him. He saw it in her eyes, in the way she blushed whenever she looked at him. Yui was cute, and he was tempted to pursue her. He considered his options. He had an idea, a very bad one. He remembered Yui's mother. The thought of adding her and her daughter to his harem made him feel a bit excited— he shook his head, a bit disappointed with himself. He had to stop thinking with his "third leg." He was going to regret this decision later if he didn't stop thinking about it.

Ren decided to shift his focus. He remembered another mother, Chisaki's mother. She was beautiful, and she had a graceful maturity about her. The idea of seducing her and adding her to his harem was more appealing, and it wouldn't directly involve his new friends from the Service Club. He was already planning to destroy a family, but at least it wasn't the Yuigahama family. He can destroy Yui's family too , but that's only when he can take responsibility by having both mother and her daughter become his lovers. He shook his head again, telling himself he was a scumbag. He had just vowed to stop thinking with his "third leg," and he was already doing it again. He decided to stick to his decision for now. He was going to add Chisaki's mother to his harem(?).

The club meeting was short. Yukino explained their role in the school festival and the need to attend another meeting with the Executive Committee. "We will be attending a meeting with the Executive Committee tomorrow after school. Be prepared to introduce yourselves," she said, her voice serious and professional.

As the meeting came to an end, Hachiman looked at Ren with a new light in his eyes. He had been quiet, but he had been observing. This new guy wasn't what he expected. He was more than just a popular face. He was smart, observant, and he seemed to understand the subtleties of the situation, the unsaid tensions in the room. Suddenly, in Hachiman's eyes, Ren's handsomeness transformed into a kind of beauty. Hachiman immediately felt a chill run down his spine, realizing what he was thinking at that moment. "I'm not gay," Hachiman thought, feeling a bit of an existential crisis.
