Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: hellfire against storm

Kyle had learned the skill Ryo entirely on his own after being struck by it twice. During that fight, he also discovered a third variation

He-ryo.

In this form, Ryo is released into the air, travels forward, and strikes the target without physical contact.

"Yeah… I'm sure this will work", Kyle thought.

Suiryu, furious, stepped forward and swung his spear, expecting Kyle to rage and attack recklessly as usual.

But Kyle jumped back.

Suiryu lunged again, aiming straight for Kyle's chest

Kyle unleashed He-Ryo.

"WHAT?!" Suiryu roared. "How did this fool learn that technique?!"

"Huh… impressive. Didn't expect that from an idiot," Oni muttered and was immediately blasted backward by a snowstorm from Opium.

Grandpa Caesar, alive and safe thanks to Lucy's healing magic, stared in shock.

"So this is why Ryzen sent Kyle to fight the gods… The son of the King of Gods… a genius. Learning a technique after seeing it only twice… remarkable."

He-Ryo stopped Suiryu mid-charge. Kyle followed up with Ryo strikes.

"Hah! A cheap trick!" Suiryu sneered.

As the God of Sky, Suiryu possessed immense Roh. Lightning crackled around him as he overpowered Kyle's Ryo.

While Suiryu focused on countering him, Kyle's floating orbs began to shift. They transformed into clones

One fast.

One strong.

One ranged.

One wielding weapons.

Kyle had never used them before. He lacked the focus until now.

The clones attacked from all directions.

"This is pointless!" Suiryu shouted, dodging and striking back. "You're all going to die!"

Kyle narrowed his eyes and He vanished and reappeared above Suiryu, slamming him down with a falcon dropkick. Red sparks exploded outward, and a violent surge of Roh shook the entire battlefield.

Now Suiryu got serious.

Lightning erupted from his body as he released 100% of his power. In a flash, he appeared mid-air and delivered a rising kick.

Kyle's nose burst with blood as he was sent flying. The clones dissolved back into orbs.

Lightning struck randomly across the battlefield.

Kyle stood up, breathing heavily, thinking of his next move.

Meanwhile,

Oni struggled against Opium's relentless snowstorm.

Oni, the Hell King, did not rule over fire alone. Hell had many domains. At 20% of his power, he had unlocked Ice.

He formed a massive ice wall and shaped an ice lance in his hand.

One side of his body burned with scorching heat.

The other radiated freezing cold.

"Hell King?" Opium said calmly. "You're weak for that title. But even if I lose, I'll be proud to have challenged a king."

Oni stared at him coldly.

"Weak?" he said flatly. "You mistake restraint for weakness moron."

Opium remained silent.

"You worship an evil god and call it loyalty," Oni continued, voice turning sharp. "You're not noble. You're blind."

"I serve Lord Suiryu because he saved me," Opium replied. "When I was starving in the mountains, freezing to death, he was there. I owe him everything."

"And now?" Oni snapped. "Look at him. Does he treat you like family anymore? Or like a disposable tool?"

Opium hesitated.

"He was once worthy of your loyalty," Oni said harshly. "Now he's rotting from the inside. The Curse of Ebony has twisted him, and you stand there pretending you don't see it."

Oni launched a beam of ice from his lance.

Opium dodged and retaliated with wind slashes from his wings.

Oni summoned a white eagle from Hell and mounted it, diving at high speed. Only a blue streak marked his path as he repeatedly struck at Opium mid-air.

Opium shielded himself with his wings.

Oni leapt off the eagle and released an incinerating wave, heating the air itself.

Opium countered with a freezing gust, but the eagle slashed him five times with compressed air blades.

Opium fell, wounded.

Oni landed before him and raised his palm

Then stopped.

"You don't deserve to die," Oni said coldly. "You're not evil. Just foolish."

Opium looked up, confused.

"You call this loyalty?" Oni's voice hardened.

"You follow orders without question while your 'god' commits atrocities. That's not loyalty. That's cowardice."

Opium's breathing grew heavy.

"If you truly cared about him," Oni continued,

"The best thing you can do for Suiryu now," Oni said bluntly, "is step aside and let Kyle kill him. Only that can purify him and end the Curse of Ebony."

Silence.

Opium lay on the ground. He could still fight.

But he didn't.

Memories flashed in his mind Suiryu laughing with his people, treating everyone like family.

That god was gone.

Now there was only a tyrant giving cruel orders.

Opium lowered his head.

And accepted it.

Meanwhile, Noah was battling Osric. They were evenly matched Until Osric released his Light Roh.

The radiant pressure forced Noah to his knees. His undead, Eldric and Alexer, began to fade under the holy energy.

Noah clenched his teeth and activated Dark Body Enhancement, spreading the power to his undead as well. Shadows wrapped around them as Noah unleashed air slashes with his shadow blade.

Osric slammed his hammer into the ground.

A shockwave tore across the battlefield and launched Noah into the air.

In a blur, Osric vanished reappearing above Noah, hammer raised to crush him

Alexer intercepted, slamming his claw into Osric. The hammer blocked it with a deafening clang. Eldric followed with a mid-air slash, and soon the three clashed violently in the sky.

Noah extended his hand and formed a massive creature from Dark Roh, launching it at Osric.

Osric answered with a divine roar.

"Hammer of Judgment!"

A colossal construct of light formed around his weapon.

The two attacks collided and everything nearby was obliterated.

The force was massive. Eldric and Alexer were hurled backward like ragdolls.

The clash ended in a draw.

Without hesitation, Noah and Osric charged into the explosion itself, exchanging blows inside the burning cloud of energy.

After several brutal strikes Noah was slammed into the ground.

Osric hovered above him, breathing steadily.

He had heard Oni and Opium's conversation.

He did not finish Noah.

Instead, he turned his gaze toward Suiryu.

There was nothing holy in Suiryu's expression anymore only a twisted, evil smile.

And just like that, two of his most loyal subordinates chose silence over obedience.

Kyle was losing.

Barely dodging. Barely blocking.

Suiryu struck him again and again, lightning-infused blows tearing into his body. Blood covered Kyle from head to toe.

"HAHAHAHA! DIE, FOOL!" Suiryu roared.

He glanced toward his subordinates.

"What happened to you?!" he shouted at Opium. "Why are you lying there, useless worm?!"

"And you finish him!" he barked at Osric. "What are you waiting for?!"

Both remained silent.

Suiryu's expression darkened.

"Fine. I'll killyou both after I deal with these pests."

Opium froze.

The man he once called savior had just threatened his life without hesitation.

Kyle staggered to his feet.

He activated his own mana different from every other mana types. different from anything else on the battlefield.

He closed his eyes.

His body began to glow as that strange energy flowed through his veins.

Suiryu punched him.

Kicked him.

Struck him with lightning.

Kyle endured it all and kept focusing.

Suddenly, his four orbs fused back into his body.

His muscles expanded. Veins bulged. Power surged violently.

"Bullshit…" Suiryu muttered, aiming his hand for a finishing strike.

Kyle vanished from the attack.

He reappeared with a devastating kick

Hellfire erupted from the impact.

He learned this transformation from his father but he didn't use it before was because it needed sufficient time and roh to use.

Before Suiryu could recover, Kyle grabbed his legs and slammed him into the ground.

Now they exchanged blows at close range raw, savage strikes.

Suiryu growled and drew his true weapon

The Blade of Thunder and Wind.

With every swing, the air itself split apart.

A tower behind Kyle was sliced clean in half.

Another swing

A portion of the Sky Fortress was severed and destroyed.

Kyle kicked the blade directly. Because it carried Wind Roh, the impact caused the hellfire to spread wildly through the currents.

Kyle aimed a kick at Suiryu's chin

Suiryu dodged and countered with a brutal punch, followed by a kick and a slash.

Kyle's chest tore open.

He crashed into the broken remains of the fortress.

From afar, Suiryu raised his hand.

The sky roared.

Thunder gathered into a massive lightning bolt.

He hurled it at Kyle.

The explosion swallowed him entirely.

Lightning spread in every direction

and the entire Sky Fortress was destroyed.

The Metsuju stood speechless.

"That idiot… did he die!?" Oni muttered, sprinting toward the ruins.

Suiryu intercepted him with a lightning strike

Oni blocked it.

"KYLE!" Grandpa Caesar screamed as he ran toward the collapsing debris.

Amid the rubble

Kyle lay broken.

Bones shattered.

Blood pooling beneath him.

His vision blurred as his consciousness began to fade.

"I failed…"

And darkness slowly closed in.
