Gilbert had just finished a board meeting when secretary Liam approached him. "Mister Ace Carter, Miss Cherry called earlier and asked if you were busy."
Gilbert laughed to himself. Couldn't that woman really wait for their annulment?
Sitting down on the swivel chair, Gilbert loosened his necktie because he felt like he was choking.
"Recently, the Adler Family invested in a biotechnology company that manufactures and distributes drugs," Liam announced.
Hearing that, Gilbert's vision automatically darkened. "Send someone to scout to see what they are doing."
"Okay, Mister Ace Carter," Liam replied, then quickly turned around and left the room.
Feeling suddenly stressed, Gilbert took a cigarette from his drawer and lit it. After that, he stood up and approached the floor-to-ceiling glass window of his office where the city of Manila was clearly visible.
