Gilbert was about to push the door of the room open to enter when he heard Grandma Mathilde speak.
"Cherry, grandchild, tell the truth. Did Gilbert bully you?"
"N-No, grandma. He doesn't do that," Cherry replied in a soft voice.
Grandma Mathilde didn't seem convinced by Cherry's answer to her. "I know that kid speaks harshly, so if he mistreats you, tell me. I'll teach him a lesson."
"Not really, grandma," Cherry replied again. "In fact, when I was sick, he was the one who took care of me. He helped me bathe, eat, and take medicine."
Hearing Cherry's words, Grandma Mathilde's mood brightened. "That's good. By the way, Delya told me that damn Olivia fought you? Is that true, grandchild?" the old man questioned again.
"You know Olivia's mouth is quite sharp. We argued but nothing more happened," Cherry replied again in a gentle voice.
