But below the abilities, another section caught his attention. Evolutionary Path.

Qin Wei clicked on it.

A horizontal progression bar appeared, each stage marked clearly.

Stage 1 – Active

Stage 2

Stage 3

Eye of the Void

Qin Wei squinted. "Eh? That's it?"

That was the end of the path.

There was no mention of the Eye of God, which should come after the Eye of the Void.

"Where's the final evolution? Where's the God's Eye?"

His question was only met with silence.

"Dammit. If there is no God's Eye, what's the use of choosing ocular powers… wouldn't picking physique a better…"

Then it hit him.

*Smack*

He smacked his forehead with his palm. "Ah, of course. I'm an idiot."

He sighed deeply. "Right. To awaken the God's Eye, I would need Natural Energy merged with the Void's Eye."

He slumped against the bedpost. "The problem is that it is next to impossible to acquire the power to manipulate natural energy once I awaken the Void's Eye. It has to happen before. If it doesn't happen and I accidentally unlock the Void's Eye through mental or emotional trauma, I would go blind. I would need another person with a Heaven's Eye just to fix that. And there is likely no person in this world with this eye apart from me."

He groaned again, rubbing his temple. "What a rookie mistake…"

A beat passed.

He exhaled slowly and looked up at the system screen again. "Still… I've been given a chance to live. A new world, Aether, ocular powers, and dual elements… A lot more abilities to unlock. No reason to waste it sulking."

His eyes narrowed with purpose. "Let's make the most of it."

He shook off the unnecessary thoughts and swiped back to the main Character Interface.

Qin Wei

Rank:1

Age: 19

Race: Han

Bloodline: Heaven's Eye

Titles: None

Elements: Fire, Lightning

Inventory: None

Skills:

Fireball: Spits a massive flaming orb with explosive force. Range: 5 meters

Lightning Ground Current: Sends an electric shock through the ground to stun multiple targets. Temporary paralysis for 2-4 seconds, depending on the opponent's strength. Range: 3 meters.

Qin Wei groaned in dissatisfaction, "Skills are good, but the range is quite less. I hope I can raise its range when I rank up in the future."

"Now then," he muttered, rubbing his hands together. "Time to see the rest…"

He swiped across the hovering system interface, flipping through tabs until he landed on the glowing icon labeled:

[TALENT TREE – Tap to Expand]

He tapped it.

A surge of aether shimmered briefly across his vision, and three vertical trees bloomed in front of him, each stylized with glowing orbs and branching patterns like a spirit diagram.

[Elemental Path] [Bloodline Path] [Combat Technique Path]

He tapped the Elemental Path first.

Two side branches pulsed to life.

[Fire Branch] [Lightning Branch]

Below them, five glowing orbs hovered in a vertical row beneath each.

He tapped on the first fire orb.

Fire Branch:

Orb 1: Fire damage +10%. Cost: 1 Talent Point

Orb 2: +20% damage (3 TP)

Orb 3: +50% damage (10 TP)]

Orb 4: +150% damage (25 TP)

Orb 5: +600% damage (100 TP)

Qin Wei whistled. "Damn. That's a serious power curve. With 600% damage boost, even a normal fireball would kill enemies way powerful than me."

Lightning Branch:

Orb 1: Lightning damage +10%. Cost: 1 Talent Point

Orb 2: +20% damage (3 TP)

Orb 3: +50% damage (10 TP)]

Orb 4: +150% damage (25 TP)

Orb 5: +600% damage (100 TP)

Then he noticed a third branch, greyed out and chained with iron glyphs.

[Fusion Path – Locked]

He squinted. "Fusion path, huh? Probably for mixing fire and lightning… Or maybe, the damage increase of the combo attacks?"

His fingers twitched in excitement. "Definitely need to unlock that someday."

He slid over to the second path:

Bloodline Path

There's only one branch under it, though.

[Eye of Heaven]

Orb 1: Duration +10% (1 TP)

Orb 2: Duration +20% (3 TP)

Orb 3: Duration +50% (10 TP)

Orb 4: Duration +150% (25 TP)

Orb 5: Duration +600% (100 TP)

"Not gonna lie…" Qin Wei muttered, leaning closer, "This is broken." But then he shook his head, "No, I can't be complacent. The grandmasters over here could destroy mountains with ease. And above the grandmasters, there are those four semi-deities. Who knows what they could do…"

He swiped to the third and final tree.

This one was quite different from the other two trees.

Combat Technique Path

Orb 1: Movement Speed: +100% (1 TP)

Orb 2: Damage taken: –30% (3 TP)

Orb 3: Skill chakra cost: –50% (10 TP)

Orb 4: Recovery rate: +100% (25 TP)

Orb 5: Ten Seconds of Invincibility at Near-Death (100 TP)

Qin Wei stared at the final orb. "Ten seconds of invincibility… when I'm about to die."

He blinked. "That will be useful to give me one opportunity to run away. But we still don't know its cooldown timer. So, let's leave it at that, too. After all…"

Then he glanced toward the bottom of the screen, where a small box pulsed with faint light.

Talent Points Available: 0

"I don't have any talent points to even start with. I need to look at missions to earn them."

Qin Wei then closed the Talent Tree, and his eyes dropped to the next one.

[LIBRARY]

The icon resembled a book. As he tapped, it materialized into a 3D holographic book with hundreds of pages.

He grabbed the book and flipped the pages.

Each page detailed a skill with name, description, chakra type, required element, and most importantly...

Price.

He flipped the first few pages. They were free.

Two low-level techniques, printed in glowing blue ink:

[Clone]

Element: None

Rank: E

Description: Creates non-corporeal visual duplicates of the user. No combat value.

Cost: Free

*

[Aether String]

Element: None

Rank: D

Cost: Free

Description: Generates thin Aether threads to connect or manipulate objects.

"Only two freebies, huh?" he muttered.

*Ding!

[Clone has been added to the skill list.]

[Aether String has been added to the skill list.]

He flipped again after purchasing the free ones.

The next pages glowed dull red. A price appeared at the top of each

[Phantom Step]

Element: None

Rank: C

Cost: 900 Credits

*

[Thunder Fang]

Element: Lightning

Bloodline: Heaven's Eye

Rank: A

Cost: 162,500 Credits

*

[Blue Fire Bullets]

Element: Fire

Rank: B

Cost: 8,200 Credits

*

[Black Flame Spear]

Element: Fire

Bloodline: Void's Eye

Rank: S

Cost: 2,175,000 Credits

*

Qin Wei's eyes bulged when he flipped a few dozen more pages, and the ink turned black and gold.

[Eternal Dream Illusion]

Element: None

Bloodline: God's Eye

Rank: SSS

Cost: 864,000,000 Credits

Description: The pinnacle of illusion arts. Traps every being who perceives light into an eternal dream realm. Cannot be resisted by any being below Deity Rank without special protection. Require the sun to be at its peak position to cast the spell.

"Eight hundred… and sixty-four million credits?"

Qin Wei coughed out loud.

"I could sell the entire palace and not have enough. But then again, this also means the system would give a way to evolve my Heaven's Eye. That means not overthinking turned out to be good, after all."

But then he stared longer at the description as he knew how much he only had. 1000 credits would only be barely enough to buy a C-rank technique.

"Okay, that's enough about the Library. There are too many skills in here, and I don't have the time and patience to go through each one. And I need to use 1000 credits wisely…"

He closed the book with a mental flick.

The floating archive faded into mist as he backed out of the Library tab.

He swiped down again. Another glowing icon appeared, shaped like a pair of crossed blades.

[GEAR SYSTEM]

He tapped.

This time, holographic walls shifted into rows of weapon racks and armor mannequins, all lined up neatly like a digital armory.

Names, stats, effects, all arranged in clean panels floating before him.

He scrolled through categories:

[Weapons] [Projectile Tools] [Cloaks] [Arm Guards] [Boots] [Battle Armor]

Unlike the library, there are no free weapons; the cheapest dagger costs him 100 credits, and the most expensive one costs him as much as 400 million credits. "Ugh… exploring this only makes me feel poor," he muttered dryly.

He waved his hand and dismissed the Gear window with a flick of frustration.

Qin Wei, cross-legged on the bed, exhaled a long breath.

"All right," he muttered, "Only the last two tabs remained to explore."

His fingers flicked across the air, the glowing menu rippling beneath his touch.

[Summoning Contracts]

He tapped it.

Nothing.

The screen refused to open. Instead, a cold prompt blinked in red at the center:

[LOCKED. Requires Rank 3 to unlock the Summoning Contracts feature.]

Qin Wei groaned, flopping back on the bed like a plank of wood.

"Of course, there will be a requirement."

He rolled onto his side and swiped again.

One final icon remained.

[Missions]

The tab unfolded like an unfurling scroll, golden ink writing itself across the air.

There weren't many missions, just three, floating one beneath another.

[Mission 1: Activate Eye of Heaven in Battle for 5 Minutes] Reward: 1 Talent Point (TP)

[Mission 2: Improve Public Reputation to Positive Status] Reward: 500 Credits

[Mission 3: Marry Your Fiancée or Break the Engagement] Marriage Reward: 100 Credits. Break Engagement: Reward: 1 TP

Qin Wei rubbed his chin, expression darkening slightly, especially when his eyes fell on the third mission.
