Chapter 105 - Chapter 99 - Stelle: I'll Go!

"Hiss... Wait a moment, all of you. I need to report this to my superior."

Inside the Geobalance Commission office, Mr. Dahao took a sharp breath as he looked at the letter Stelle handed him. His face paled, and he scrambled from his seat.

"Err... looks like you guys found something pretty major," March said, scratching her head and shrugging as she watched Dahao's panicked retreat. She had just been called back.

"It certainly seems to be important intelligence. Let's wait for Mr. Dahao to bring his superior," Welt said. He then found a stool and sat down, staring at the wall, lost in thought.

"Hm? What's wrong with Uncle Yang?" Tilting her head, March looked at Welt's somewhat odd behavior and asked Stelle.

"No idea. He's been in this dazed, spaced-out state ever since he walked in the door," Stelle shrugged. At the same time, her hand flashed out, swiping a document from Dahao's desk.

"Hm?" Wende's eyebrow shot up.

"Ahehehe... couldn't help it, couldn't help it..." Stelle laughed awkwardly and placed the document back on the desk.

"So where did you guys find the letter? Uncle Yang and I wandered around Changle for several loops and found nothing," March asked, looking at Wende and Stelle. Could their luck really be that good? No, that can't be right. Stelle always hit pity on her pulls back when she played games.

"Mmm..." Wende fell into thought. How should he put it? That Stelle saw a glowing spot on the monster after defeating it?

"Mmm..." Stelle also fell into thought. For some reason, she suddenly felt offended.

"Perhaps... Stelle truly is a so-called Child of Fortune," Welt offered from the side, giving his own answer.

"Uncle Yang, I told you to stop reading those weird novels. Look at you, now you're starting to say strange things," March complained, hands on her hips.

"Err... am I? But the ones I'm reading are all Xianzhou novels. They're quite interesting," Welt said, pulling out a book from somewhere. He hadn't started it yet, but it should be decent, right? Books sold in the Changle bookstores should all be proper literature, shouldn't they?

"Phew... My apologies for the long wait. This is my superior. She will speak with you about this matter." Dahao wiped the sweat from his brow, panting.

Behind him, a purple-haired woman was watching them silently.

"This is the Chief Strategist of the Divine Foresight Residence, Lady Qingzu," Dahao introduced her to the Trailblaze crew.

"It is best for her to handle the matter of the letter. I'm very sorry, but I'm unable to help you with something of this magnitude," Dahao said regretfully.

"Err... weren't we originally commissioned by him to find the 'mastermind'? Why has it turned into this now?" March asked, a little confused.

"Hm? You're not used to it yet?" Stelle replied, looking as if this was all perfectly normal.

"Members of the Astral Express, I have read the letter you brought. I was previously ordered by General Jing Yuan to investigate the matter of the Mara-Struck. Thanks to you, we finally have some leads." Qingzu thanked the group.

She then explained the contents of the letter, introducing the crew to a new organization by the name of the [Disciples of Sanctus Medicus].

Sure enough, Qingzu then provided them with a new clue, requiring them to continue the chase.

In the Changle plaza, March kicked listlessly at the pebbles on the ground.

"So, are we a train crew that saves worlds, or some kind of detective agency?! Why do we always run into this kind of work!" March complained loudly.

"It's just like one of those long and tedious quests in a game, designed to pad out the main story," Stelle stated the truth without even realizing it.

.........

"Crap! She figured it out!" Sister Guoguo said in horror.

[BS! Wasn't that the option you just picked yourself!?]

[Indeed. Looks like the writers are quite self-aware.]

[Why are you speaking such truths!]

[The writer has finally gone mad.]

[Dawei! It's her! Get her!]

[Has a rival company already infiltrated the writing team!?]

.........

"So, where do we even start looking? Where are we supposed to find so many weird people?" March finally sat down on the steps by the plaza, looking out at the empty square below.

Many Cloud Knights, fresh from the battlefield, had been lying here before, but they had since been transferred to a secure location.

"Yeah... If the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus were that easy to find, the organization wouldn't have survived for a thousand years. What do you think, Wende?" Stelle sat down next to March and then turned her gaze to Wende.

For some reason, ever since hearing the words "Disciples of Sanctus Medicus," the frown on Wende's brow had not relaxed.

"Hm? I'm not so sure about that."

Hearing Stelle's words, Wende was pulled from his thoughts. He shook his head slightly.

"Look over there."

Wende pointed ahead. A person dressed in green Xianzhou attire was talking to someone who was clearly not from the Xianzhou. Judging by the "Outworlder's" annoyed expression and his clenched fists, it was clear he desperately wanted to punch the guy.

"No way. It can't really be that easy, can it? This is too much of a farce," March rubbed her eyes. They were supposed to be investigating "suspicious people," but did this guy really have to be so cooperative? He might as well have the word "suspicious" hanging on his head!

"So what do we do now? Do we tail him? Or just knock him out and deliver him to the Geobalance Commission?" Stelle turned her gaze to Wende and Welt.

"Hmm... if we tail him, we risk alerting him. Knocking him out is even less reliable. Why don't we find a way to make contact with him first," the ever-reliable Welt offered his most reliable suggestion.

"I think that's a good idea. So, who should go?"

[Option 1: Let me go!]

[Option 2: March, you go.]

[Option 3: Uncle Yang, you go.]

[Option 4: Wende, you go.]

"Hmm... looks like I can't just mindlessly pick Wende this time."

Sister Guoguo stared at the four options, lost in thought.

The last three options were very uniform. Maybe picking any of them would lead to the same result... Might as well let the MC handle it herself!

Sister Guoguo decisively chose Option 1.

"I'll go!"

Stelle raised her small hand, volunteering herself.

"I think that could work," Wende said with a nod, looking at Stelle's eyes, which were brimming with innocence.

"Indeed. Wende and I aren't quite suitable, and as for March... she's not the best fit either," Welt nodded in agreement.
