Rose School of Thought...
And they're called secret organizations? Selina echoed Mr. Fool's words within her mind.
After a pause, she replied. "Thank you Mr. Fool."
Alger pricked his brows then said. "Based on your description earlier. It is indeed what Mr. Fool said, The Rose School of Thought.
"But such an ancient organization that have origins which traces back since before the Fourth Epoch to experience a divergence in members. It would require a major issue within the organization itself.
"There are factions within it that worships different gods and mind that gods only take a fraction of their powers to sustain an organization. One of them could potentially worship the Child of God you've mentioned."
Audrey, listening attentively, then asked Selina out of curiosity. "Ms. Lovers, what do you think could this major issue be?"
After a few seconds, Selina gathered her thought before saying. "I'm not sure... But it seems it would be connected to the pursuit of resurrection of the Child of God."
She couldn't afford to disclose the entirety of the matter, as her doubts only became apparent at the mention of the cult having other factions.
Let's still try... Attempts are always accompanied by potential danger, what we need is to mitigate that aspect as best as we can, Selina internalized as she attempts to placate herself.
"We're now already discussing the splitting of an organization..." Audrey felt a slight pressure and excitement from the matter.
The fate of a secret organization is now being discussed by their newly founded Tarot Club. Their organization could be the type to pull the strings behind a controversial stage!
After Selina's turn. The Fool, rapped the side of his armrest.
"According to what I know, the Secret Order has lost an Antigonus family notebook."
"An Antigonus family notebook?" Alger repeated before smiling with a shake of his head. "I'm really curious as to what reaction the Church of the Evernight Goddess will have if they learn of it."
At that moment, Audrey asked out of curiosity, "Why are you curious? What sort of special reaction would the Goddess's church have?"
Alger smiled and said, "The Antigonus family was destroyed by the Church of the Evernight Goddess."
"I'm not really sure if it happened at the end of the Fourth Epoch or the early stages of the present epoch."
After hearing The Hanged Man's explanation, Audrey said with deep interest, "I never imagined that such a thing would happen...
"Alright, my turn. Let me think of what I have to share."
She cocked her head and held her head up with her hand before chuckling.
"Yesterday, my etiquette teacher taught me how to faint, how to faint elegantly without any faux paus. It's a practical skill used at social events to avoid awkward situations or nasty guys... Heh heh. I was just organizing my thoughts. What I really wanted to say is that ever since the failure of the battle on Balam's eastern shore, the king, premier, and gentlemen are under immense stress. They eagerly wish to change."
While Audrey recalled the conversation between her father and elder brother about the situation, she put in her own words, "They believe that the government's structure is too chaotic. Every election, if there is a change of the ruling party, there will be a change of personnel from top to bottom. It makes things a mess and lowers efficiency tremendously. Not only does it cause the battle loss, it also brings great inconvenience to the civilians."
Selina understand how the political system of the Loen Kingdom operates, it was one of the things she had noticed from when she first recalled the former Emperor, Roselle Gustav.
The Loen Kingdom had yet to evolve into a system that examines public servants. The state of the Kingdom's political situation can be identified in a preliminary stages; therefore, at each conclusion of elections, many of the so-called positions would be awarded to members and supporters.
How peculiar for my senior to not establish such institutions, considering his personality when it comes to plagiarism, he should've addressed this...
Hmm... Well, there's a high possibility that he instead diverted his attention to other matters in life... Selina reasoned herself with the consideration for the former Emperor. But what could those other matters be?
When the Hanged Man, Alger, heard that he interjected with a soft chuckle.
"They believe? Then their beliefs are a little slow. Perhaps they will only feel the itch a year after they get bitten by black mosquitoes."
Black mosquitoes were a type of creature that resided in the south of the Loen Kingdom. It was extremely venomous, and its venom made victims have the urge to rip apart their skin.
Audrey extended her palm and covered her mouth. Ignoring the Hanged Man's mockery, she expressed the core information of what she said, "Unfortunately, they are temporarily unable to find a good solution to replace this system."
The Fool, fingers interlocked, said in an unhurried voice. "This is a simple problem."
"Simple?" Audrey returned with a question in puzzlement.
Although her education did not include politics, she often heard from the discussions of her father, brother, and people around her. She had a sufficient understanding of similar matters.
For Selina, she have a certain degree of knowledge in matters such as politics and governance. After all, it benefits her in managing connections for the company, which includes political figures and staying informed in relevant laws and regulations.
Yes... it is simple. That is, in the case where we apply modern solution. Selina mused silently as she began to recall the political system back from Earth.
Feeling as though she regressed back to the election days of yesteryear, she muttered to herself inwardly. Hmm... They should held an examination. Similar to an entrance-exam, open for the public. The method for choosing the elites should be objective, like holding multiple-choices... Also, it can be split into multiple rounds in order to validate and confirm the public's decision.
Afterwards, utilize these elites to occupy different positions which also includes the direct handling of the matters such as the Cabinet Secretary.
And...
As Selina immersed herself in thoughts. She suddenly overheard The Fool's suggestion in a loose sentence before slowly becoming clearer:
"Different positions should be given different requirements. The second or third rounds can be tested based on locale and region. Professional matters should be left to the professionals.
"As for political positions such as ministers, governors or mayors, they will be left to the parties that win the election. That is a slice of the pie they deserve."
Wait... Mr. Fool's suggestion somewhat goes similarly to my line of thought...
Although it differ in delivery. It still captures the same essence it intends to convey. Identical to mine which I took inspiration from governance procedure back on Earth... Selina's brows furrowed slightly. Why's Mr. Fool... Concerns "Himself" in that domain?
No, more importantly... How does "He" know that? Could it be that Mr. Fool's origins can be traced back from an alternate world? My home... Earth? Selina's interlocked hands unknowingly tightened by the second.
She doesn't intend to interrupt or add in Mr. Fool's explanation.
Alger, who lacked interest in such matters, unknowingly turned his head and listened carefully. Audrey frowned slightly as she fell into deep thought.
"There's no hurry in replacing everyone at once. The cabinet and various agencies in the civil service will be crippled if that happens. You can have an examination every year or every three years. They can be gradually replaced. Finally, in light of the kingdom's expansion and the salaried civil servants' resignations that will bring in vacancies, you can systematically allot spots.
Such a design can bring the kingdom's insightful elites into the government. Regardless of the party in power or who the minister is, the civil service will allow the kingdom to maintain its basic and effective operations."
While considering the suggestion, Audrey asked doubtfully, "Are you implying that even if those ministers become monkeys, the effects would be insignificant?"
"No," Alger interjected suddenly. "I believe that monkeys are a better choice than the present ministers."
He paused before adding, "After all, monkeys only need to eat, sleep, and mate. They would not come up with foolish ideas and insist on brainless projects."
What a way to describe them, I guess...? Selina mused over Alger's line of thought, then added. Mr. Hanged Man, from your mannerism. Do you perhaps... Have terrible superiors?
Audrey ruminated over the suggestion Mr. Fool had offered and after a while, said in surprise, "It sounds like it actually might work...
"It's a very simple but effective solution!"
She looked at the enigmatic man and sincerely marveled, "Mr. Fool, you must be an elderly person with outstanding intelligence who is very experienced in life!"
Selina, taking on a role of an onlooker, kept her poise as much as she can.
As she's somewhat restraining herself because of Audrey's choice of words when referencing Mr. Fool.
Then, just as she decided to inquire further information about the secret organization, Rose School of Thought. The Fool suddenly declared in a low voice:
"Let us end today's gathering here..."
Then, The Fool added by the last second. "Ms. Lovers. Hold the donation for the time being. Requested by the admirer of mine."
Hold... Selina took the tidbit in mind and said. "Very well, Mr. Fool."
"Then, let's look forward to the next gathering"
The next moment, the trio stood in unity as they echoed. "By your will."
Dark crimson light surged the trio in a blinding flash.
Selina saw an aqueous illumination that engulfed her along with Audrey and Alger.
The serenity of gray fog returned after they phased. Depicting as though it had been untouched for millions of years.
...
The crimson light quickly receded from Selina's peripheral.
She found herself back to her residence, lying on the soft fabric of her bed, feeling slightly disoriented.
Feeling tired, Selina extended her arms to her face, then covering it before sighing. Mr. Fool... From Earth...
Please don't let this be another false hope...
To her, The Fool's mysterious origin and familiar domain may lead a clue to her transmigration.
Perhaps, becoming his blessed, can lead her to the truth, potentially opening a path back home.
But it seems Mr. Fool had just awakened... If I can aid Him in regaining His former self, will that help me return?
Return... Selina's heart ache at the thought that she might never return.
Regardless, she held hope that it might not be the case. And that one day, she'll see her parents... Her family, once more.
Attempting one more uncertainty... Selina then let out a self-deprecating smile. Was I ever such a daring person?
I always believe that I'm the cautious type... A soft chuckle escaped her lips.
The next second, she brushed her doubts aside as she let out a soft sigh. Let's go make dinner... It's almost dark.
Selina pressed both of her palm and propped herself from the mattress.
Turning her head to face the veiled windows, she saw golden light being tainted with a shrouding darkness.
Then, she recalled Mr. Heath and his wife. The meal they had given her with pure intention.
That's right... I haven't returned their pot. Selina addressed in silence. Let's first return it before making dinner.
After changing into a corset dress and tying her hair once more. She suddenly remembered another variable:
"Did I bought ingredients earlier?"
After the realization, her hands almost reached her cheeks, attempting face-palm herself in regret. Augh... I forgot!
I'll have to visit the market at this time again...
While brooding, Selina left the bedroom and descended from the second floor, entered the kitchen from the short hall afterwards.
The pot, containing a left over of the Veggie Beef she had earlier, stood closed at the kitchen counter.
Upon opening the lid, and seeing the leftover stew. The scent lightened her mood.
With a sigh, she muttered. "I'll just heat this up..."
After placing the left over stew to an empty, clean bowl. Selina held the pot over and exited the house.
Marl Heath's residence is located next to hers. And upon taking a short walk over the street, she arrived at their front door.
Then, with both hands holding the pot, she reached the back of her right hand for the bell.
Ding!
The sound echoed from the front yard and into the inside of the house.
After doing this, Selina stood by the door and waited patiently for a respond.
It didn't take long before she began to hear light and progressive footsteps from the door.
Followed by fast and successive steps of another.
The door clicked, then it was slowly swinged open from within.
Marl's wife, Martha, appeared from behind the door, holding an infant on her right hand and a child by the other.
"Oh! Ms. Roy... How nice of you to drop by." Martha greeted with delight.
Selina didn't expect that Marl and Martha had two childs instead of one that she had imagined.
Raising both of her hands holding the pot. She presented the empty pot with a soft smile. "Mrs. Heath, I'm here to return the pot from your previous visit."
"The Veggie Beef was sumptuous. I would be pleased to have it again sometime."
Martha's face lightened. "I'm glad that you've enjoyed it dear..."
Then, upon taking a quick glance at her child. She added. "Oh! Dear, Have you had dinner?"
Selina was slightly taken aback.
Realizing that it was just a question with concern. She shook her head and replied. "I haven't yet, but I planned to have the heated leftover Veggie Beef as my dinner."
"But won't you feel lonely dear?" Martha interject. "I've just finished preparing dinner. Care to join us?"
Selina was suddenly caught by an unconventional felt. Feeling that she'll just be a bother. She calmly retorted. "No, it's fine Mrs. Heath, I'm used to it."
Then, upon realizing her choice of words. Her hands trembled, having a desire to slap her face.
"Used to it?" Martha displayed a look of worry. "That's unhealthy dear. Come... My husband wouldn't mind another company at the table."
On her side, the toddler clinging to her dress looked at Selina with curiosity.
"N-No, It's really fine Mrs. Heath. Forget about what I said, please." Selina still tried her best to decline.
"Nonsense. Come." Martha said in a somewhat declared manner.
At that moment, Martha's daughter spoke as she points her finger at Selina. "Mom... Big sis?"
Selina was suddenly caught by surprise and couldn't form a thought for moment.
Martha smiled at her child and nodded. "Mhm... That's big sister Selina."
The response made the child's eyes gleamed. Her hand quickly let go of her grasp from Martha's skirt and rushed to hug Selina by the leg.
"Big sis! Big sis! Can we go play?" The girl asked gleefully as she performed little jumps by each moment.
Selina looked at Martha with a somewhat visible cry for help. But the lady seemed to care less as she revealed a slight smug to her face.
Children was naturally drawn to Selina, this was one of the traits she had that made the townsfolk of Milo fond of her. Even herself as Linda, she would often experience the childish initiatives of the children around her.
As such, she had developed the habit to care and tend to the children she would encounter.
This aspect of mine can truly be my weakness... Selina brooded her own nature.
With a sigh, she decided. "Alright..."
