The silence dragged on for a long time as Hani sat there, frozen, looking at Emma's flushed face. Emma fiddled with her thumbs, taking peeks at Hani, hoping to hear an answer of any sort of acknowledgement of what she had just said.
Did Emma say she liked me? Like a friend? But she has already said this before, so why is she repeating it?
"Just before you go thinking some random things, no! I like you as a woman, a partner, a girlfriend, not as a friend!" Emma could basically see that Hani was thinking at that moment, "Well, it's not like I don't like you as a friend either... but I don't want to be friends with you. That's cause I want to be your girlfriend, it's... You know what I am saying, right?"
Emma was starting to get flustered as she muddled up what she was trying to say to Hani, who was still mute at this point. Having her thoughts shot down instantly, she was still lost for words, even more now than before.
