** Chapter Warning: Violence and bullying are in this chapter, so please be aware! **
"Make sure you are not caught." Leo sat huddled with 3 guys. He decided to do an unofficial test for Hani to see if she really deserves that spot.
If that F-ranker can survive these weaklings, I'll accept the fact that she is somewhat skilled, if not well, she should not be able to participate. I mean, it's only C-rank minions. Leo grinned to himself, legs resting on the table, leaning back, basking in this oh so brilliant mind of his. His need to put Hani in her rightful place was insatiable.
---
Hani's whole schedule was mapped out and provided to these goons. These 3 minions, number one, two and three, followed every order Leo gave them. They had to get close to the Randell family, and they believed that Leo would protect them as long as they got the job done, cause they would be helpful to Leo.
They waited in the library, where Hani entered a training room as usual. But every Wednesday, she is alone without Emma. As soon as they saw Hani walking towards the training room, Minion one slammed the door as two and three blocked the view for others passing by. Not many people are around this part of the library overall, so it was easy. Coming from a reputable school, no one would guess they would be doing something unjustifiable.
"Hey, F-ranker, Leo wanted to give you a little surprise gift." Menacing in his massive build, he towered over Hani as he swiped the card to open the door into the training room. He dragged her in as minion two, and three followed.
"Um... please let me go, let's talk over this like civilised people, huh?" Sweating, Hani tried to reason with these people, but her words fell on deaf ears. Who are these guys? What is going on? OMG!! What do I do!!!!?
Hani, who looked tiny compared to these men, was easily lifted into the room by the collar. Minion one, who was grabbing her, threw her onto the floor. She slipped across the floor, getting skid burns on her hands and knees as she slid. "Oww, no need to be so rough." Hani lifted her palms, skin peeled, as she blew on them and shook her hands frantically. That really hurts! I need to get this treated soon. I hope whatever this is won't last long.
The minions looked at her, brows lifted, and then laughed at Hani's words. Minion two gets down and grabs Hani by her chin, looking at her, "They say you are the genius F-ranker. Hmmm..." He shoved her face left and right, " Dun seem like anything special to me. Haha." He laughed at Hani's face, spitting in every direction.
"Ewwwwww, when did you last brush your teeth?" Hani felt the drops of spit against her face and the vile odour that came out of his mouth. Red with anger, Minion Two threw Hani back from the chin, causing her head to go backwards and hit the floor.
Hani winced in pain as she grabbed the back of her head, and a bump had instantly formed. Not pleased by the situation, she picked herself up and stared at these three minions as they laughed. "What do you want from me?" She spat out her words, uncertain why this was happening, but not caring, as she was determined to beat them up now.
All those days of training, Hani! If you can't beat them now, how can you even think about the tournament? Yeah... think of it as practice! Hani hyped herself up, focused on the situation, and prepared to take anything that was coming towards her.
"Oh, look at her go, she's getting ready, boys, be careful." They laughed and mocked Hani as she stood there ready to attack at any given moment. Minion one took out his weapon, a small baton, firm and strong. Minion two musters a fireball as the third one prepares to defend. "Let's see you try to beat this!" The fireball, the size of a ball, drills towards Hani quickly. She slices it using the magic blade, the air compressed tightly, snuffing it out before it could even reach her.
"Oh, that wasn't so bad!" Hani said out loud instead of in her head due to the excitement. This enraged the minions more as number one pointed his baton towards Hani, but it was too far to reach her. Hani scoffed for a second until the baton, with lightning speed, grew out of nowhere as it punched her in the stomach, knocking her back. Thankfully, she was quick enough to block part of the attack and stood her ground, or it could have been fatal.
"Yeah, it's not that bad." Minion one grinned, but knowing that she still partially blocked their surprise attack, got anxious. Number three, who had also felt the same feeling, started to cast a buff on the other two, increasing their attack power.
Hani smirked, Ok, I see. I don't think it will be that bad! It's nothing like fighting against Emma, and she used to go easy on me, but hit twice as hard as these scums!
Hani, who had started to study their abilities, exchanged a couple of blows, and she quickly analysed the type of ability they had to a certain extent. Hani was ready to end this little play. As the baton extended towards her again, she grabbed onto it, making sure to protect her hands with magic. Flustered, the minion drew back the baton, taking it back to its normal size, but instead of letting go, Hani jumped, letting herself be dragged by it as she came at him with a flying kick with a sprinkle of magic. He was out cold.
"One down!~" she then aimed the baton and threw it towards minion three, trying to pull up a shield, but the baton, infused with some magic, broke right through it and bonked him on the head, knocking him out too.
"Strike two!~" The last guy was the only one remaining who had already finished preparing his spell, and in a sudden blaze of fire, hurricanes swirled around. Hani stood in awe as the shields maintained against such an attack. If it's not breaking the shields, it must not be that strong, it just looks powerful! Hani thought to herself, ignoring it and running straight towards Minion Two.
Getting too close to one of the pillars of fire, she was scorched and burned a part of her hair. "ARRGGGHHHHH!! MY HAIR!!" She stopped mid-attack as she grabbed the strand of hair that had gotten singed off, mourning it and crying. "My precious hair, the 5-step hair care routine I use to keep it lucious and thick my one and only asset I had but now it's burnt whyyyyy meeee!" Without taking a second to breathe, she cried.
Minion two decided to take this as his chance. This bitch is crazy, how the hell is she an F-rank, Fuck. I have to get this done and over with it when she is distracted, or I am fucked. He rushed towards her with a hidden blade at hand. He engulfed it with fire as he stabbed her.
Hani, who may have been distracted by her hair, still had maintained a perfect shield that covered her body. The knife bounces off her.
Within the last month, Hani had grown vastly, in such a scary manner that it felt like they were facing a monster. The minion could not believe that the girl crying over some hair in front of him was an F-rank. We have had hero training for years, and still can't beat her. Did Leo fuck up? How the hell is this a F-rank person? Surely he is mistaken.
"Please! I am sorry! Leo made us do this. I swear I will never do it again. Hey, I will even help you so you can report Leo!" He starts to plead as Hani snarled with anger on her face at her loss. She picked up the dagger he dropped as she walked closer to him.
"I don't need your help, you scum!" She thrust the dagger at his face and stopped just before it touched him. The guy saw it coming and believed this was death right here as he foamed up and passed out.
Hani looked at him with disgust as she dropped the knife on him and pushed the emergency button on the entrance door.
Security staff came flooding in and saw the men all knocked out, with a petite girl standing in the middle of this whole commotion.
Beating these three scoundrels, Hani seemed to have realised how great her ability is. With the combination of her innate skill in understanding things so quickly and her ability to perform these skills, which she could technically only think of in theory before, she had become strong. Excited for the new future that seemed to have opened in front of her, she felt eager.
The head librarian walked in sternly towards Hani, and before she could say anything, Hani spoke up first.
"I would like to file a complaint, please." She smiled an innocent smile, taking a leaf from Stella's book.
