Victory Gate POV
Today I'm going to be a good leader. I say in my head while looking in the mirror. I head out of the room after 2 hours preparing myself. Today was the staff meeting. I'm looking forward to seeing the great and trustworthy staff I can rely on in the future. Everyone looked bored out of their mind when we all arrived.
Heck, some were even working during this very important meeting. I don't know about them but I think this is important. Because I see it as the day a lot of the weight that I and the rest of the team carry will be lifted off our shoulders. I didn't say anything, because I believe telling someone off for working hard is redundant.
Now the meeting began and we started off great Mana was an excellent medical expert that can be relied on. Head Coach Tsukasa is a very confident talent. Though he does have an effect on all the girls in the team who are attracted to men. Then after Mana who was being checked out by Spice is when things flew off the rails. Suzu went on stage and even though how strict she was Norn seems to have liked what she had seen.
Making her horny free-loving self to make her moves on Suzu. Making Suzu run out of the room in embarrassment. Norn still tried to chase after her, but thanks to Rose, Jo, and ImP she was held back in time. When I arrived I told her," Norn chase her in your own time, we have a meeting to go through." She smiled as everyone else on the team did as well, did I say something strange?
Once Norn was restrained with Gray who was also restrained earlier, due to her incident with the new coach Mama Blues came to me. She told me," Good job figuring out a time to turn off your no-dating policy." She winked at me while giving me a thumbs-up and walking back to her seat. I did what now?!! I looked around and saw that's what I did as the members who were very smitten with each other began sitting together.
Gosh darn it, one sentence ends the policy and I don't want to take it back because technically we're now locked into this organization. Plus if I did immediately take it back I feel that an in-team rebellion would erupt. I decided to put the issue down and move on in the future, because now this is the org's problem. The meeting soon continued and Takeshi was next, someone very professional and reliable. My Vice Captain seems to really like him and that's good enough for me.
After that, Juna was the head nutritionist and chef of the organization. Former rock star as well apparently as she unleashed a guitar solo that we've never experienced. She showed us a version of punk rock that we've never heard of in our world. Showing that this world still had secrets we've never experienced before. Possibly even horrors we couldn't even imagine and that scares me.
After Juna left and caused property damage that made Mina upset we moved on to Ana and she was magnificent. She showed us a video performance that not only calmed me down, but also made me cry. She was a performance and music genius. I could tell this was made using a lot of research and hard work. I now believe that even with the horrors, wonderful things also exist in this world.
Afterwards was Yuto, who was a smart and villainous type that I felt would get along with Gray. Both of them being the smart yet tenacious in victory. Perfect for the job he was given. After is Hana a real tech type who's preppy and energetic? She was very dedicated and it made us laugh with how loud and proud she was about it.
Haven't had a good laugh like that in a while. Then came Hachi and she was relaxed and nonchalant about not caring about our safety and being unprofessional. She caused me to have a silent mental breakdown after her speech. After she left a tidal wave of criticism and questioning about her qualifications happened. I was one of the loudest in the crowd of players and staff saying these things.
Why am I taking this seriously? This world might be shaped like ours, but its history and culture are completely different. Horse girls have not only shifted history and culture, but geopolitics as well. Going to different countries requires extreme caution. Heck, some governments are way different.
Like both Koreas are united and Hong Kong is the capital of China. Ireland is a constitutional monarchy, and South Africa is a first-world country just to name a few examples. The world is different and having a competent head of travel planning is paramount. Now I'm worried about everything that could go so wrong. Especially with some of the team traveling with us and whoever we're traveling with.
Now I have to do something. Soon things calmed down as Kaito finished up the staff introductions. Now soon enough the meetings ended and I went to my Vice Captain and told her, "Hey Mama Blues, I need to have a word with that Hachi Fukawa lady. You tell everyone that they can do what they want after this, no after-work meeting today." Soon after that I went to Hachi's office for a talk.
This is a serious one too. We usually have end-of-the-day meetings to report anything significant in our personal lives and anything that happens. Then we also announce future events and news that needs to be spread out to the team. Finally, we share complaints and bond over everything as a team. We all trusted each other at this point and have all become pretty close.
That's how important our meetings usually are, and now it's canceled for something more dire. I soon rush towards Hachi's office to talk to her directly. I asked around and was soon led to Hachi's office. I knocked on her door and I heard an exasperated groan before she opened the door. I kindly asked," May I come in Fukawa-san?"
She was silent for a moment before answering," Fine have a seat in front of my desk, it seems to be important." The way to the chair seemed like a million years passing as thousands of panicked thoughts wanting to come out at once flooded my mind. I sat down and as soon as both of us sat I just awkwardly stared at her before being able to ask," Fukawa-san can we trust you?" I wanted to throw up as I panicked in my mind, but I was serious about the question. She responded to me saying," Victory Gate, I know you care about the team very much, but I'm a professional and an expert at what I do."
She was right about me being a leader who cares about my team, but my mind has doubts as I remember her speech. She soon got up and pulled down a map of the world as well as several items she deemed necessary. She spoke saying," I need you to understand that in each country there are always things that can hurt you and your group. Local diseases, powerful groups with insane amounts of power, violent criminals, and dangerous wildlife are a small example. I needed to tell them there are situations where even I will be helpless if they fuck up."
She completed her presentation with," That's why my speech is about listening to me no matter how I convey that message to them." That made me feel a lot better than before. I also felt the professionalism coming off of her the whole time for the first time. I now knew what she stood for and what it was all about. Still, I wasn't too excited as the world contained threats like the Pop Cult and the Uma Musume Supremacists the powerful groups were basically destined to be at odds with our decisions.
While I'm here relying on this lazy lady in front of me. Then I responded still unsure," I see." I might of still been unsure and will keep an eye on her but credit is due. I then soon honestly told her," It does seem that you know what you're doing, so please explain the same way you did to me to everyone else, because they're all trying to get you fired Fukawa-san." She was startled by this comment, I guess maybe she just has bad self-awareness.
It's what she deserves for scaring everyone with myself included. Still, I get up and begin leaving with a more peaceful thought process. I was still worried, but I could also make some peace with Hachi. I smiled and told her," Oh yeah, Fukawa-san, please call me Vic from now on." I soon left deciding to have a less formal relationship with Hachi and showing her we were somewhat cool.
Soon I heard a panic in the office with some loud sounds. It seems she's preparing for that explanation. I need to be more ready than I thought. I'll need to learn more about this world, and have a plan when we arrive in other countries. That's when I heard my phone receive a message.
It read," Yo guess whose girl just got her agency hired as the Org's primary agency?" It was from Spice and after sending a congratulatory message for Ayana. This changed things and it means I can speak with Ayana about bringing in travel experts and assistants to cover for Hachi's slack. I can also have Mina have her servants help us prepare. It's all coming together, and the nights are still young I can probably ask for things now as I head there.
That's when Hachi popped out of her office all of a sudden and rushed carrying multiple objects rushing off to Mina probably. While screaming curse words in a repeating pattern. She soon passed me not realizing she did, and soon another message on my phone arrived. It read, "Calm, here's some info you're gonna love and forgive me with. I hear from Ayana that the staff are gonna have a meeting tonight, so if you want to have a meet up with your new interest right after this would be the time."
It seems my plans are going to be delayed to the next day. Now I could rest for a night. Who am I kidding that's not even close to what I would do. I'm headed to the library and after I grab my laptop. I'm in preparation mode and I'm going to find every possible threat to us, and how to deal with such groups.
On my way to my room, I hear a ruckus in Jo's room and know KiWi was there causing trouble. I soon got my stuff and soon saw Norn zoom by carrying multiple objects in a box. Then I saw Mama Blues come out of her room skipping like a young girl in love dressed gorgeously. She was so in her head that she didn't realize she passed me. I get going to see outside Gray being carried in by Rain.
I keep walking seeing Sweets and Rose lost in their own world walking by. Then I see Lily trying to convince ImP to do anything other than what they were about to do. I follow them through a building where I know the meeting was being held. I had to pass through to get to the library faster. There I saw on the floor BlaD working on the floor as I passed by after getting past Lily and ImP.
Next, I saw Steel going into the office buildings as I came out of the building I was in. With GW passing by me to enter the building I was in. I didn't notice her there for a second. Soon though I pass the infirmary and see through a window Spice sleeping in a hospital bed. I finally get to the library and soon my work begins.

The next day arrived and it was time for breakfast. I studied in the library all night it seems. A new message from my phone and it was from Mina. It read," Dear Vic, I know you care about your team a lot, but this is too much. From now on we are implementing a curfew and you cannot violate it."
It continued as it read," Especially you, Jo, BlaD, Sweets, Gray, and Rain as all of you are insane workaholics. Then there's KiWi, Spice, ImP, Rose, and Norn who in common speak,' party way too hard.' Now inform Jo, Gray, and BlaD that all their gear will be assigned to work stations and not their bedrooms. It is not okay for my staff to tell me you and BlaD were up all night working. Jo as well is not doing well for herself with sending me and my staff groundbreaking research after working all night."
It kept going as I read," This will be implemented on all staff with the exception of our night shift staff. You have your work hours, stick by them, or there will be consequences. Now have breakfast, and sleep in your room tonight, remember I'm watching all of you. By, Mina Sakamoto Du Vault. Goddesses damn it, she found out, guess it's time to talk to the girls.
I soon gathered all my stuff and headed to breakfast deciding to work before tonight's curfew. Everything is coming so soon as training camp begins in a week according to a syllabus given to us a week ago. Now I get to eating as everyone seems to have had a crazy night in their own way. After we all flipped off Spice for his douchebag ways things escalated really quickly. KiWi got up as she was obviously upset at Jo for some reason and grabbed a glass of water from the desk and spilling it on her head.
Jo nodded for a few seconds as she, her food, and her phone were now wet. She then jumped at KiWi deciding to choose violence instead of defusing the situation like she normally does. It seems both were mad at each other. Still, KiWi is fast, and Jo, whom I know is exhausted from working all night can't land a hit. Soon their scuffle crashed into everyone else and things went chaotic.
People were either fighting or staying out of it. KiWi put Jo in a sleeper hold, while Gray went after Rose for some reason. ImP and Lily were somehow fighting, while everyone else was tiredly avoiding it all. Spice though was filming the whole thing in joy calling everyone idiots. That's when I screamed," Enough!!"
I soon began my speech saying," Goddesses damn it all Mina was right. This fighting will stop now before the organization gets involved. Mina just texted me, from now on everyone is on curfew. All work instruments will be kept in your work stations and everyone will get a good night's sleep or else. Are we clear?!"
Everyone agreed mumbling and that's when we heard a voice say," Good that we are all in agreement." I turned around and saw it was Mina, Iguro, and Takeshi." We are so in trouble. She continued saying," It seems all of you have caused a ruckus so please separate from one another." Everyone did so and soon she continued saying," Until summer camp begins all of you will be in lockdown in your own rooms separately, and are only allowed to come out for meals."
Everyone gasped in shock and Jo asked," Are you grounding us?" Mina replied," You really are the smart one Jo. Yes, I am, now get to your rooms I have already had staff move your work items to your work stations. Now move along as this place now needs cleaning." That's how this all ended, and now it seems all my work requests are delayed again for the foreseeable future.
