A helicopter flew overhead, the land was hot about 43.4°C, hotter than usual but survivable, they flew over a desert city as the sun started to dip below the horizon. It was loud and everything below was aware of their presence.
One by one, 14 people, including Yukiko and Deion, fell out of the helicopter like they were skydiving. There were thrusters strapped to their back and calves. Two bigger ones on their back with two smaller ones on the left and right of their main thrusters. Then, the two wings about their wingspan were attacked, but they rose before stretching out. However, there were two groups, one of 8 and one of 6.
They also had wrist cannons and shoulder rockets, about 600 feet from the ground. The group activated their thrusters and jetted towards the city, where the sun finally dipped below the sand dunes.
Deion spoke through his comms integrated into his helmet, "Everyone stay active and stay alert, the temperature drops to below freezing or pretty close to it... Stay humble. Deion out." The team nodded as they finally landed, and they heard groans. The shadows were cooler at 32.1°C but the deep shadowy alleys were way cooler at 17.9°C.
The groaning grew as the sun fully dipped below the horizon, the blue skies and stars moved into view, and the sandy streets turned blue with the cold air settling in. "What's our objective here?" Isisah, a 5'10 soldier, asked as he looked at Deion to lead like Cam would have. "Primary Objective: Investigate the distress signal sent by squad 19. Secondary Objective..."
He drew a long breath from the cold desert sky and blew it out, "Kill them all." They started walking, a smaller 5'3 girl who was more the cutesy type spoke, "Why didn't we just fly in?"
Yukiko spoke calmly, "Not to attract any demons lurking around." They walked quietly, clung to the shadows like they were the thing that went bump in the night. They moved quickly and silently until they saw a lone man in full gear walking in the middle of the street....
