It didn't take long for Hazuki to return with a pair of freshly retrieved Three Tomoe Sharingan. As for what happened to Ren during the process, Kanzou didn't care; Hazuki was capable enough to have taken care of everything—what mattered was that she had brought the eyes back.

"You may go, take a break or something…" Kanzou instructed.

"Yes, Patriarch!" Satoru nodded, disappearing.

"Fresh Three Tomoe Sharingan—absorb them," Kanzou said, turning to Mikoto.

"Yes, Kanzou-sama—" Mikoto began, but was interrupted by Kanzou.

"You don't need to keep addressing me like that, as if you're my subordinate," Kanzou said, interrupting her gently. "You're going to be my wife… You can call me without honorifics."

"Wi… without honorifics?" Mikoto mumbled awkwardly, uncomfortable at the idea. It wasn't something she could do so easily.

"If you're not comfortable, then it's fine," Kanzou replied with a shrug, not pushing the matter.

Mikoto fell silent for a moment. Then, after a brief hesitation and a faint blush on her cheeks, she murmured,

"Then… Kan… Kan-sama… would that be alright?"

"Kan-sama?" Kanzou murmured, blinking in surprise as he looked at Mikoto. He hadn't expected her to use a nickname.

"Is it not okay?" Mikoto asked softly, fiddling with her fingers.

"…It's fine. Call me Kan-sama from now on," Kanzou chuckled, pulling her gently into his arms.

She didn't resist—she had grown used to it by now… and besides, the warmth he offered brought a strange comfort to her lonely heart.

While being held by Kanzou, Mikoto murmured, "Kan-sama, please don't gouge out our clansmen's eyes for my sake. If word ever got out, it could damage your reputation within the Uchiha."

She truly meant it for Kanzou's sake. Even if Ren had been his enemy, many within the clan would feel uneasy knowing such an act had been committed.

As a clan possessing a dōjutsu-based Kekkei Genkai, the Uchiha held their eyes in the highest regard. While they didn't go as far as the Hyūga Clan—who placed Caged Bird Seals on members of their branch family—they still treated their dōjutsu with utmost reverence.

If an outsider dares to transplant a Sharingan, the Uchiha will never let it slide.

In the original story, Kakashi was allowed to keep his Sharingan only because he wasn't weak and had an exceptional background. After all, his teacher was the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato; his father, Sakumo Hatake, was once a revered hero who had fought alongside many Uchiha; and the Third Great Shinobi War had only just ended.

It was likely due to Sakumo and Minato's influence, combined with Uchiha Fugaku's passive nature and reluctance to spark conflict, that the matter was overlooked. Moreover, since the eye had been gifted to Kakashi by Uchiha Obito himself, the clan ultimately chose not to pursue it.

But if it had been anyone else, the matter wouldn't have been overlooked. The Uchiha would have fought tooth and nail to reclaim the Sharingan.

"Do you think I care about any of that? In this world, strength is all that matters. If you're strong enough, you can do whatever you want," Kanzou said coldly.

As long as Kanzou remained powerful, his position as clan head would be as immovable as a mountain.

"Now, hurry up and absorb it. Don't waste my time," Kanzou added impatiently.

Hearing the edge in his voice, Mikoto—fearful of displeasing him—nodded, "I… I understand, Kan-sama…" Then activated her Mangekyō Sharingan and used Kuninotokotachi to absorb the visual prowess.

Under the power of her Kuninotokotachi, the pair of Three Tomoe Sharingan slowly began to turn grey as she drained their visual prowess.

Watching her, Kanzou thought to himself, 'Looks like Mikoto's still quite afraid of me. Is it fear of being abandoned? Well, whatever…' He nodded slightly, a faint smile on his face. 'It's not such a bad thing—it'll allow me more control over her and keep her obedient and loyal to me.'

That night, Mikoto didn't leave Kanzou's residence, but it was nothing new.

Since before Kanzou expelled Fugaku from the clan, Mikoto had been living with him—and no one expressed dissatisfaction or spoke ill of it.

After all, Mikoto had openly confessed her feelings for Kanzou on the very day Fugaku was cast out, so everyone was aware of where her heart lay.

Given what Fugaku had forced her to endure, many pitied Mikoto and were genuinely relieved that Kanzou had forgiven her and accepted her.

To them, she had been truly wronged—and this outcome felt like a small redemption.

With Mikoto tending to him, Kanzou had been enjoying life immensely. Even simple things like dinner, baths, sleep, and breakfast had become far more satisfying and pleasant.

After all, Mikoto devoted herself wholeheartedly—tending to his needs with her body every time he desired to have fun with her without a single word of complaint

Naturally, the days had become nothing short of satisfying and pleasant.

"Ahh… this is the life," Kanzou sighed contentedly, gently stroking the raven-black hair of the beautiful, naked woman bobbing her head back and forth.

After completing his training, Kanzou decided to visit the Konoha Police Force—a rare occurrence lately.

He hadn't shown up at the Police HQ in a while, even though the Police Force had been bringing him substantial Evil points on a regular basis.

Following Kanzou's orders, the police force had been especially active—extorting security management fees from shop owners and deliberately stirring up disorder throughout the village.

As Kanzou once said, "If Konoha becomes too safe, we'll be out of a job."

Thanks to that approach, the Police Force had earned a fearsome reputation across the village.

"Have the security management fees been collected?" Kanzou asked Shin and Souta.

Kanzou hadn't visited the Guard Team lately, leaving everything in the hands of the two.

"Patriarch, there are still a few stubborn holdouts who haven't paid," Shin replied with a sinister smile. "But I doubt they'll last much longer. Either they'll pay up or go bankrupt."

"After a few more rounds of 'reminders,' I don't think they'll be able to keep resisting," he added with a chuckle.

"By the way, Patriarch—about Hatake Sakumo, whom you had me monitor… I heard he recently returned to the village after failing his mission."

Souta relayed the update. Kanzou had indeed instructed him to keep an eye on Sakumo. Ever since acquiring Ryūjin Jakka, Kanzou had taken a keen interest in the famed Hatake Kenjutsu—and was now entertaining the idea of replicating it.

It was a pity that Konoha's White Fang, Hatake Sakumo, wasn't in the village recently—he had been away on a mission.

'A failed mission… looks like Hatake Sakumo's suicide isn't far off,' Kanzou thought.

Judging by the timing, it was about that point in history when Sakumo would take his own life.

He had risked life and limb for Konoha, only to be driven to suicide by baseless rumours. His fate was undeniably tragic—but Kanzou felt no pity for him.

For a man of Kage-level strength to be shaken by the words of weaklings was, in Kanzou's eyes, laughable.

'Before he dies, I want to meet him,' Kanzou decided.

Don't get him wrong—he wasn't planning to save Sakumo. At best, he wouldn't fan the flames. But help? That was out of the question.

After all, Sakumo's loyalty to Konoha was unwavering. If that weren't the case, he would've rebelled instead of choosing suicide under pressure.

Kanzou wanted to meet Sakumo purely for one reason—his Kenjutsu. The legendary sword techniques of the Hatake clan had always intrigued him.

The Hatake residence was quite large, which made sense. As a Kage-level powerhouse, Hatake Sakumo had completed countless missions and amassed significant wealth. A spacious home was only natural.

Without so much as knocking, Kanzou pushed the door open and stepped inside. Courtesy was never something a man like him cared for.

As it happened, Sakumo was in the courtyard. When he saw the door forcibly swung open, his brows knitted together in displeasure. His mood was already sour from the backlash and stigma that came with his decision to abandon the mission in order to save his comrade, which resulted in heavy losses for the village.

And now, someone was entering his house without even knocking.

"…It's you, Uchiha Kanzou," he said, his frown deepening as he recognised the intruder.
