Chapter 1 - Chapter 1-Awakening

When I opened my eyes, the heavy chandelier hanging from the ceiling dazzled me. My breath quickened, and my heart felt like it was about to leap out of my chest. I jumped out of bed, but the carpet beneath my feet was soft—not the one I was used to. It was thicker, embroidered, and smelled of history. I looked around. The furniture, the curtains, even the comb next to the mirror—all of it was old. But this wasn't a movie set.

I was Elif. A psychology student living in the year 2025. A young woman with big dreams and an ordinary life. But this place… this was the year 1915. I could feel it—and when I opened the window, the view confirmed it. Horse-drawn carriages, Ottoman officers, conversations in Greek instead of Turkish… And when I looked in the mirror, I was no longer myself.

My face had changed. Staring back at me was a blonde, blue-eyed girl who looked noble. I rubbed my eyes. Was this a joke? Was I losing my mind? But no—deep inside, a voice whispered the name of this body: Alina. I was now the daughter of a Greek general.

In time, I understood. Elif's soul had become trapped in Alina's body. But why? And how? I struggled with these questions, when suddenly a voice from inside the house startled me.

"Alina, breakfast is ready!"

The wooden door creaked open and a woman stepped in, smiling warmly.

"Come on, dear."

My body began to walk. It wasn't me—I wasn't in control. It was as if she was guiding it. But somewhere deep inside, Elif was still there.

And I knew… this was only the beginning.
