Hook: The Mirror Sky Bleeds
The sky above her bled red.
Lyana opened her eyes slowly, blinking against the violet haze. The ground beneath her was black crystal, cracked like a shattered mirror. Where was the academy? Where was Kayn?
She sat up, her breath catching.
Everything was familiar, yet wrong. The Celestial Realm — but warped. Trees made of glass, rivers of glowing ink, constellations shaped like screaming faces.
And then, a voice.
"You finally returned."
She turned.
There he stood — Azarel.
But… different.
Younger. Sharper. Colder. Draped in robes made of starlight and shadows. His eyes held no sorrow. Only hunger.
"I've waited," he said, stepping closer, "for you to remember. For you to choose me… again."
She stepped back. "You're not him."
He smiled.
"I am him… before he became weak."
The Realm of Reversal
Lyana scanned the environment, her mind racing.
This wasn't a dream. The pain was real — the ache in her chest, the dissonance in her soul. Something inside her screamed that this place was ancient. Wrong. Designed.
System Message: [Caution] You have entered a corrupted Soul Mirror Realm.
Warning: Reality unstable. Identity fragmentation at 42%.
Her hands trembled.
A mirror floated nearby. In it, her reflection flickered — shifting between her current form and a crowned version of herself, eyes glowing gold.
"What do you want from me?" she asked.
The alternate Azarel — Prime Azarel, she named him — circled her like a predator.
"To rewrite the path. The love we had was perfect… until you betrayed me."
"That wasn't me."
He smiled sadly. "It always is."
Confronting the Echo of Love
She summoned her blade. The same silver energy that had once pierced through dimensions hummed around her.
"I'm not here to relive lies."
Prime Azarel's expression didn't change. He waved his hand, and the mirror behind her exploded into fragments — each showing a different past: battles they fought, kisses stolen beneath falling stars, her betrayal, his death.
"Which one is real?" he asked.
Her mind burned. The memories were too vivid.
"No… I made a choice. I chose him."
Prime Azarel stepped closer, cupping her cheek. "But you could choose again."
She flinched.
A battle began inside her.
System Alert: [Soul Sync Instability Detected]
Incoming Connection Attempt from Kayn…
Her eyes widened. "Kayn..."
Prime Azarel's gaze darkened. "No."
The Battle Within: Identity Fracture
Inside Lyana, two wills collided.
One pulled her to the past — perfect, absolute, but suffocating.
The other — flawed, present, but real.
Images bombarded her mind: her first meeting with Kayn at the academy, the stolen glances, the warmth of his voice. His confusion. His restraint. His... humanity.
"I don't want perfection," she whispered. "I want truth."
She drove her sword into the ground. The realm shook.
Prime Azarel roared, dark tendrils exploding from his hands. "You were mine!"
"No," she whispered. "I was never yours. You were a possibility. Not destiny."
He lunged. She raised her hand — and light burst forth.
Soul-Link Engaged: Connection with Azarel/Kayn Reestablished.
Kayn's Voice Across the Realms
"Kayn…?" her voice cracked.
His reply echoed inside her thoughts like a whisper across time.
Lyana… don't believe him. That's not our truth. I'm here. I'm always here.
She dropped to her knees. Prime Azarel clutched his chest as if stabbed by the link.
System Message: Class Fusion Progress – 52%
Caution: Dual Realities Detected. Path convergence imminent.
"Lyana," Kayn whispered again. "You chose love. Not control."
She sobbed, tears trailing across her cheeks. "Then take me back."
Prime Azarel's form began to crack — gold light bleeding from his core. "If I can't have you… no one will."
Breaking the Realm
She stood, trembling but resolute.
"I don't belong here."
A surge of energy rose from within her — not just power, but choice. The very essence of free will.
"Release the memory," she said, slashing her blade through the sky.
The Mirror Realm split in two. Realities flickered like torn pages. Stars fell from the sky. Prime Azarel screamed, disintegrating into light and shadow.
System Update: Soul Reclamation – Success.
User: Lyana – Integrity Restored.
She closed her eyes as the realm collapsed, feeling Kayn's presence guiding her home.
But just before it faded — a second version of her emerged from the ruins.
Same face. Same soul.
But her eyes were… cold.
Cliffhanger: A Splintered Soul
She awoke on the stone floor of the academy.
Kayn held her, his breathing ragged. "You came back," he whispered.
"I think… I broke the mirror."
But something was wrong.
In the reflection of the broken ceiling crystal, she saw herself — standing. Watching. Smiling darkly.
System Alert: [Soul Fragment Manifested – Designation: Lyana|Omega]
Warning: Unknown Entity Has Escaped Containment.
Kayn followed her gaze. "What is that?"
Her hand gripped his tighter.
"I don't know. But… it's me."
To be continued in Chapter 21 – The Moonlight Pact
