Chapter 2 - The Intimidation System and Mosquito Girl

Ding! Host has successfully intimidated a monster. 'Intimidation System' has been bound!

"Hiss—" Zeke sucked in a sharp breath. The excitement almost triggered his King Engine on the spot.

"Damn! That old saying really is true — in any transmigration, the system may be late, but it never skips out!"

After calming himself down a little, Zeke found a ramen shop and ordered a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. He then discreetly opened his system interface.

Why hadn't he checked it earlier?

Simple — he would've looked like a complete lunatic standing in the middle of the street, pointing and talking to thin air.

Shing!

A virtual screen that only Zeke could see appeared before him.

[Intimidation System]

Host: Zeke (King)

Level: 1 (EXP: 0/100)

Attributes: Strength: 7, Agility: 6, Spirit: 5

Skill: King Engine — The heart produces a roaring sound like a race car engine. Aside from sounding cool, it has no combat function. (Novice: 0/50)

Intimidation Points: 50

Friendly Reminder: Normal human attribute values average at 5. Maximum value for any attribute is 100.

Each time the host levels up, 10 free attribute points are awarded, which can be distributed freely.

Once an attribute reaches 100, the limiter must be broken to increase further. The highest attribute cannot exceed the lowest by more than 5 times, or the body will suffer overload.

Skill proficiency levels: Novice, Skilled, Adept, Expert, Mastery, Perfection, Divine.

Intimidation Points can be converted into either EXP for leveling up or skill proficiency. Gained by intimidating monsters.

"Uh…"

Zeke read through the system messages three times carefully to understand its function.

In short, he could earn Intimidation Points by scaring monsters and then use those points to enhance his abilities.

Zeke grinned.

Sure, his system wasn't one of those overpowered ones that made you invincible from the start, and it didn't have an AI to guide him — just a basic tool system.

But it was stable and reliable. It offered a clear path to becoming stronger.

What more could he ask for?

"Here's your ramen, sir. Enjoy."

"Thanks!"

Zeke began wolfing down the ramen and casually dumped all his Intimidation Points into improving the King Engine's proficiency.

Holding on to them wasn't helping him level up yet — might as well use them to see if the skill had any real function.

Intimidation Points -50. King Engine proficiency upgraded to Skilled (0/200).

King Engine: Now emits sonic effects. Red aura will appear around the user during activation. (Now looks even cooler.)

As the system notification rang out, Zeke felt a tremor in his chest.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Powerful heartbeats echoed within him, shaking his chest cavity so forcefully that ripples appeared in the broth of his ramen.

Zeke's eyes widened. The heartbeat was now producing actual sound waves that projected outward.

"Sir, are you alright?" the waiter asked, noticing the strange noise and approaching with concern.

"N-No, I'm fine," Zeke quickly waved him off, trying to calm his wildly thumping heart.

He then noticed several nearby customers staring at him curiously. Clearly, they had heard the strange sound too.

"It's King! That was King!"

"No way! I just came for ramen and ran into King!"

"That heartbeat — was that the King Engine? I felt it shake my whole body!"

King's popularity was far beyond what Zeke had expected.

He had taken off his cap just to enjoy his ramen, but the loud heartbeat had drawn everyone's attention. Now he was instantly recognized.

"King-san, can I have your autograph?"

"King-sama, can I take a picture with you?"

"King-san, can I have your babies?!"

Fans swarmed around him like a tidal wave, encircling Zeke completely.

Sweat beaded on his forehead as he tried to manage the crowd.

"Everyone, calm down. One at a time… And ma'am, please keep your hands to yourself, thank you!"

As he was desperately thinking of a way to escape—

Boom!

A thunderous crash rang out as the roof of the ramen shop exploded inward, debris flying everywhere.

Dust filled the air as something large and broken crashed into the restaurant.

Zeke pushed his way through the crowd cautiously.

As the dust cleared, a damaged figure came into view amidst the rubble.

It was a female monster, missing all her limbs and with her blood sacs shriveled. She lay weakly among the broken stones, barely clinging to life.

Her wings were torn, her sharp proboscis snapped off, and her body was riddled with wounds. She had clearly just endured a brutal battle.

"That's… Mosquito Girl?!" Zeke's pupils contracted. His heart skipped a beat.

The King Engine roared uncontrollably.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

The powerful sound waves shook the air. A red aura like blazing fire surged around Zeke. The glass in the ramen shop shattered instantly.

The nearby customers were stunned by the sudden outburst of power and instinctively stepped back.

"King-sama is angry!"

"He's going to eliminate that monster!"

"What an aura! He truly is Earth's strongest man!"

Zeke ignored the chatter and focused on Mosquito Girl.

According to the original story, she was sent flying by Saitama during her fight with Genos. But now she had crash-landed here?

Zeke's mind spun rapidly, recalling the news broadcast he'd seen earlier that morning.

The TV had reported a massive mosquito swarm attack in Z City. No victims survived contact.

At the time, he had been confused — wasn't that the storyline where Mosquito Girl rampaged with her swarm?

"So that's it!"

Zeke suddenly understood. "She encountered the bald demon in Z City and got slapped all the way here!"

"No wonder I haven't run into Saitama all day…"

His gaze returned to the dying Mosquito Girl.

Next in the original plot, the House of Evolution was supposed to send Beast King to pick a fight with Saitama, leading to Saitama and Genos wiping out their base.

"In other words…" A flash of cunning lit up Zeke's eyes. "Right now, the House of Evolution has no time to retrieve Mosquito Girl!"

A bold plan took shape in his mind.

His Intimidation System needed fear to generate points.

And here was a monster — injured, powerless, stripped of her blood sacs — the perfect, risk-free experience bundle!

Most monsters, when scared, could still lash out violently.

But Mosquito Girl had no means of attack left. She posed zero threat.

And beyond that…

Zeke's eyes inadvertently scanned over her battered yet still shapely body.

Her pale skin glowed with a pearl-like luster under the light. Her slim waist and ample chest formed an alluring silhouette, even bloodied and bruised.

"Keeping her around might not be such a bad view..."
