Chapter 3 - Gang [3]: Universal Shop

Yogiri hurriedly explored the System Interface to find the solution for his health.

Trait: Void Heart (Heart of the Void)

Description: A unique trait born from Yogiri Handa's deep resentment toward the world. This trait grants the host an unshakable calm, even in the face of extreme danger. It suppresses emotional turbulence, allowing the host to maintain absolute control over their feelings, no matter the situation.

Meaning this trait useless in his current state.

So he looked at the last two tabs.

[ Active Quests: None ]

Between the Quest and Universal Shop tabs, the Quest tab remained blank, offering no guidance. But the Universal Shop tab glowed faintly, like a dying ember refusing to be snuffed out.

It became his only hope.

Without hesitation, Yogiri focused on it. The moment he did, the screen expanded, revealing a massive list of items sorted by tiers.

[ Universal Shop ]

Description: This system function allows the host to purchase absolutely anything they desire. Sole Currency: Notoriety Points.

...and more+

[ Tier 2 (Locked): ]

[ Tier 9 (Locked): ]

Chaos-Breaking Punch – 1,000,000,000,000 NP

Yogiri's breath caught in his throat as he scrolled through the list. Tier after tier, item after item, skill after skill. The sheer number of possibilities felt overwhelming, like staring into an endless warehouse of power.

What had he just seen?

Were all of these things real?

If so, then the path ahead was clear. This was no ordinary system. This was his ticket to rise above it all. To become not just a gangster, but the Strongest Gangster in the Universe.

But power came at a price.

Every item required Notoriety Points, and right now, Yogiri had only one thing stopping him from touching greatness.

Just 75 NP.

He didn't know how these points were earned, but that wasn't important right now.

What mattered was buying something to heal his dying body ASAP.

With growing urgency, he scrolled through the list, eyes darting across the glowing screen. Healing Salve looked useful, but it wasn't enough. He needed something more effective—something that didn't require him to move or apply it manually. He could barely feel his limbs.

Naturally he wasn't in a state to rub ointment on his own skin.

Then, as if the system had heard his silent plea, an item appeared before his eyes and immediately caught his attention.

[ Health-Recovery Potion (E) – 50 NP ]

> A fast-acting potion that heals internal and external damage instantly.

Yogiri didn't hesitate.

He bought it immediately.

As soon as he did, his awareness snapped back to his physical body.

And something else returned with him.

The potion was there, cradled in his weak, bloodied hand.

With fingers trembling from pain and exhaustion, he slowly lifted the green vile to his lips.

The cap gave a soft click as he opened it, and without a second thought, he drank it all in one desperate gulp.

The liquid slid down his throat like fire and frost combined.

Then suddenly a warm light began to pulse from deep within his chest, spreading to every inch of his broken body.

It wasn't just heat. It was restoration.

His torn skin began to knit itself.

Bruises began to fade.

Deep gashes sealed shut.

The agony that had gripped him like a ghost started to dissolve, little by little.

He was still weak.

But he was healing.

And most importantly, he was alive.

For the rest of the night, he slept soundlessly, letting the recovery potion do its work.

The concrete floor beneath him was cold, but it couldn't outweigh the comforting sensation of being healed from the inside out.

This kind of medicine couldn't possibly exist on Earth. There was no doubt in his mind—it came from somewhere else.

But that wasn't important right now.

What mattered was the next step.

He needed to focus on his goals.

He need to take revenge.

But it wouldn't be easy.

Six months had already passed since his imprisonment.

And in that time, they probably had removed all evidences.

Going against them was the same as going against the whole of Yoko City.

Still, he was determined.

It would be tough, but he won't give up.

He had experience with how the underworld operated, and he would use them to his full advantage.

Especially now that he had the System on his side, it wouldn't be that tough.

But first, he needed to escape this prison.

He couldn't stay here any longer.

There was no telling when Jin might change the plan of tormenting and send someone to finish the job.

Even the prison guards might be willing to do the dirty work for a handful of cash.

So he needed escape fast.

The iron bars of the cell were tough.

But in the System's Shop, there was something designed to deal with just that.

[Corrosive Venom – 25 NP]

A rare liquid extracted from a deadly snake, capable of melting through steel with ease.

At the dead of night, he purchased it without hesitation.

That single transaction drained all his remaining Notoriety Points.

He was broke again.

But at least he had obtained what he needed to break free.

With the bottle in hand, just as the first rays of dawn pierced the lingering darkness, Ypgiri crouched beside the cell door and carefully poured the venomous liquid onto the lock.

The moment the substance touched metal, a sharp sizzling echoed through the silence. The lock hissed, melted, then dropped to the ground with a soft clink.

No guards were nearby to hear it.

But one prisoner in the opposite cell noticed everything. His eyes widened in disbelief as he watched the young man step out of his cell.

Still, he didn't shout.

Instead, he tilted his head, eyes pleading. A clear gesture saying,

'Let me out, or I will scream.'

With no other option, Yogiri walked over and poured the rest of the venom on the second lock.

It dissolved just as easily.

The man was free.

But then a notification appeared in front of Yogiru's vision.

Ding!

[ You have committed a Notorious Act by freeing a prisoner. You have been rewarded with 50 NP. ]

Current NP: 50

'So that's how it works. By performing notorious acts,' Yogiri thought, smirking coldly.

But his smirk faded the moment he got a better look at the freed man.

Scarred face. Yellowed teeth. Eyes that held no remorse.

Only now Yogiri recognized him.

He was one of the prisoners who bullied him endlessly in the past six months.

As a vengeful person, Yogiri couldn't allow him to set free.

Clank!

Without hesitation, he shattered the empty glass bottle on the wall and drove a jagged shard deep into the man's neck.

Puchi!

"Y-You…" the man choked, eyes bulging.

He tried to scream, but the glass had torn through his vocal cords. Only a gurgled wheeze came out.

While doing this, strangely Yogiri didn't flinch. His heart was calm and controlled

He didn't even blink.

He just watched coldly as the man crumpled to the ground, twitching.

"No one gets away after touching me," he whispered into his ear, "not even your master Jin Nakamura."

He let the corpse slump quietly.

Then, another notification appeared.

Ding!

[ You have committed a Notorious Act by killing a criminal. You have been rewarded with 100 NP. ]

'Just 100 NP for that dog? That's too stingy.'

Nevertheless, Ignoring the notification, he began to form a plan to escape stealthily. For this, he just needed some special supplies.
