Kitazawa arrived at the Uchiha compound not long after.
His appearance drew quite a few glances, but that was about it—just looks, no one approached. Most of the Uchiha were composed, more or less. The real problem lay with the hardliners—those radicals itching for revolution. After years of suppression by Danzo and their obsession with claiming the Hokage seat, some of them were seriously considering taking it by force.
As for Fugaku, well… Kitazawa had always seen him as the indecisive type. In the original story, he wavered, delayed the coup, and only made a move when he had no other choice. And the second Itachi stepped in? He backed down immediately.
A moment later, Kitazawa spotted Itachi and Sasuke in the courtyard. Both had activated their one-tomoe Sharingan. It looked like Itachi was giving his little brother a private lesson.
"Kitazawa-sensei!" Sasuke was the first to notice him and turned to wave.
"Kitazawa-sensei," Itachi echoed, his tone more formal—more like a guardian than a student.
Kitazawa felt the pressure immediately. Being locked in the gaze of two Sharingan was nerve-wracking enough. He couldn't imagine how it felt to be surrounded by them. The only thing that compared was the Byakugan—he always felt like he was being silently judged whenever he visited the Hyuga compound.
"Sasuke, that's enough training for today."
Itachi ruffled his brother's hair, then walked over. "Please come in, Sensei."
He opened the door for him.
"Thanks," Kitazawa nodded. As expected, Itachi's manners were flawless.
"Dad! Kitazawa-sensei's here!"
Sasuke ran excitedly into the living room. The kid had been on cloud nine lately—he'd awakened his Sharingan and earned Fugaku's rare praise. A double win.
Even better, both Fugaku and Itachi were now personally invested in his Sharingan training. That was a first. In the past, it had always been "we're too busy" or "practice on your own." Take the Great Fireball, for example—Fugaku taught it once and never followed up.
"Clan Head Fugaku," Kitazawa greeted.
"Kitazawa," Fugaku stood slowly, calm and deliberate. "Welcome. You've helped Sasuke a lot. I appreciate it."
"I'm just doing my job as his teacher," Kitazawa replied with a smile.
Fugaku didn't fully buy it.
After hearing about Sasuke's eye awakening, he'd asked for every detail—and what he heard was something he'd never seen before. But hey, results were results, especially for a six-year-old.
"Please, take a seat."
He gestured, then added, "Itachi, serve the tea."
"Thank you."
Kitazawa sat across from Fugaku on the sofa. Moments later, Itachi returned with a cup of hot tea and set it in front of him.
"You two go help Mikoto in the kitchen," Fugaku said with a small wave.
Itachi knew exactly what was going on—it wasn't about kicking him out, just Sasuke. The kid was too young to be part of this conversation.
Once the two boys left, Fugaku got to the point.
"Kitazawa… why did you help Sasuke awaken his Sharingan?"
He'd heard from Mikoto last night that Kitazawa was getting close with Tsunade. That alone made Fugaku wary—Tsunade's status was too complicated. He wondered if she was using Kitazawa to send a message to the Uchiha.
And honestly? He wasn't overthinking it. The Uchiha clan was at a tipping point. If Tsunade intervened, it could completely flip the balance in Konoha.
"It was Sasuke's request," Kitazawa said, completely calm.
No way he'd reveal anything about the system's task—or that Tsunade had nudged him.
"Then why would Tsunade-sama tell you that the Sharingan requires emotional stimulation to awaken?"
Fugaku narrowed his eyes.
"She mentioned it casually during an eye surgery."
Kitazawa paused, then smiled. "If you want her help, I could pass along the message."
He knew exactly what Fugaku was thinking. Might as well play along.
People like Fugaku tended to overthink things. If you didn't give them an answer that fit their narrative, they'd only grow more suspicious.
And as for Tsunade? Even if the Uchiha reached out, she'd see it as a logical step—not Kitazawa's doing.
After all, there were only a handful of people in the village who could help the Uchiha right now.
Fugaku nodded internally. Just as I suspected.
There's no way Tsunade had no interest in the Hokage seat. If she didn't, why come back to Konoha? Why stay this long?
"Thanks for the heads-up," he said, finally smiling.
He thought he'd seen through Tsunade's game—waiting for the right time to make her move.
Politics, after all, wasn't about power alone. It was about maneuvering.
Fugaku fell silent for a moment, deep in thought.
The Uchiha's situation was tense—Danzo pressing from the outside, radicals from within. He was barely keeping things together as clan leader.
But deep down, he didn't want to start a war with Konoha. They'd lose.
If Tsunade became Hokage and could help the clan out of this mess, then there'd be no need to rebel.
Ideally, someone from the Uchiha should get a high-ranking position—or at least be considered for Hokage someday.
"Time to eat!"
Mikoto came out from the kitchen carrying dishes. Sasuke followed with chopsticks in hand, Itachi with bowls.
"Please, join us," Fugaku offered warmly.
In his eyes, Kitazawa was no longer just a teacher—he was Tsunade's unofficial spokesman.
The dinner was relaxed and cheerful.
Kitazawa enjoyed the benefits of being "close to Tsunade." And it wasn't entirely fake—he really was halfway to being her student. At this point, it was practically official.
Before he left, Mikoto discreetly handed him a scroll. She didn't say what it was, just that it was a thank-you gift for helping Sasuke awaken his Sharingan.
Back outside, Kitazawa opened it.
As he expected, it was a ninjutsu scroll—but not Fire Release. Wind Release.
Sasuke had seen him use Wind techniques before, so it made sense Mikoto knew about his affinity.
He gave the scroll a quick scan—and his expression immediately turned weird.
Every technique listed had once been used by Shimura Danzo.
Six in total.
Two he already knew: Vacuum Sphere and Great Vacuum Sphere.
The other four were: Vacuum Wave, Vacuum Serial Waves, Vacuum Shuriken, and Vacuum Blade.
"…Is this some kind of jab at Danzo?" Kitazawa chuckled.
Well, probably not intentionally. Even without Sharingan theft, the Uchiha could have gotten these through other means. They'd done plenty for Konoha over the years.
"A Wind Release starter pack, huh? I'll take it," he thought, stroking his chin.
Mastering all six would definitely qualify him as a Wind Release jonin. Most jonin only mastered seven or eight solid jutsu per element.
[You've received a gift from Uchiha Mikoto. As a prodigy, you're not allowed to waste it.]
[Mission: Learn four Wind Release jutsu by the end of the second term.]
[Reward: Proficient Wind Chakra Nature Transformation.]
[Accept?]
Kitazawa blinked. Nice. System's being generous today.
He already had proficient Yin and Yang Release chakra control. Adding Wind to the mix? Very welcome.
His thoughts drifted to the Rasengan. With Wind proficiency, he could start developing Wind Style: Rasengan—and eventually, Rasenshuriken.
That S-rank beast of a jutsu? Even at 50% completion, it wrecked two of Kakuzu's hearts.
Only thing that puzzled him was the time limit.
"Why the second term?" Kitazawa mused, rubbing his chin.
Maybe because my genjutsu task is locked to summer break? Guess the system's being nice—worried I'll be too busy.
He wasn't worried. From his experience with this "dumb system," as long as he learned the fourth jutsu before the second term ended, he'd clear it.
And this summer was already jam-packed: Genjutsu, Medical Ninjutsu… now Wind Release.
…
The third week of summer vacation rolled in.
It was already August. The heat had eased slightly, but it was still blazing out.
As usual, Kitazawa had breakfast, then headed to the ninja academy.
Out by the artificial lake, dozens of Narutos in green jumpsuits were walking across the water's surface.
Gotta admit—Shadow Clone Jutsu was totally busted.
Because of Kurama constantly messing with him, Naruto's chakra control had always been awful.
But sheer quantity leads to quality.
After two weeks of water walking with his clones, Naruto's chakra control had noticeably improved.
Still, he was just a kid. If he were older like in the original timeline, he could've spammed hundreds or even thousands of clones by now.
Kitazawa rubbed his chin.
There were really only two ways to fix Naruto's chakra control issues:
Option one: reinforce the seal.
Option two: make peace with the Nine-Tails.
But the first one was a no-go. Minato had intentionally left a hole in the seal so Naruto could gradually learn to harness the Nine-Tails' chakra.
If the seal had really been unstable, guys like Hiruzen or Jiraiya would've stepped in and reinforced it long ago.
In the original story, Naruto eventually mastered Kurama's chakra through reconciliation.
But that didn't happen until years later—post-graduation.
Still, Kitazawa figured he could set up an earlier encounter. He just needed a little more authority.
Even though Hiruzen trusted him, he wasn't part of Konoha's leadership yet.
Once he officially became Tsunade's student, he might be able to make a move—and hopefully trigger a system quest.
If he did, the reward would probably be chakra.
Which, honestly, was the one thing he was seriously lacking right now.
"Naruto! Come over here!"
Kitazawa shouted across the lake.
"Kitazawa-sensei! You need me?"
"Hey, move it—I'm the real one!"
"No way! I'm the original—he's calling for me!"
A stampede of Narutos swarmed him.
"Sensei! What's up?"
The real Naruto pushed through to the front.
"Water walking training ends here," Kitazawa said with a smirk. "Time for Rasengan training."
Naruto's eyes lit up. "No way! Seriously?!"
"Finally! No more falling in the lake!"
"My youth can finally start burning again!"
"Kitazawa-sensei, I'm going first!"
"Hold up—I'm obviously the strongest one!"
The clones immediately broke out into chaos, talking over one another.
Kitazawa sighed. Why did Shadow Clones need independent personalities again?
"Quiet down!" he raised his hand.
"You heard the man—shut up and listen!" Naruto shouted, trying to restore order.
"Rasengan training has three stages. We're starting with the first one."
Kitazawa pulled out a summoning scroll and took out a bunch of water-filled balloons. "Naruto, hand these out."
"One per clone! Line up!"
It took Naruto three minutes to distribute them all.
"Now, focus chakra into your palm, gradually feed it into the balloon, and keep it rotating until it bursts."
Kitazawa grabbed one himself and channeled his chakra—the balloon exploded instantly.
"That's phase one."
"Sounds easy enough," Naruto said, scratching his head.
"Watch this!"
"Youth is power!"
"I'll be the first Naruto to pop mine!"
Before the real Naruto could say anything, all the clones had already started trying.
Kitazawa watched for a moment—none of them were getting it.
No surprise. Trying to learn this years ahead of schedule was tough.
But they had time. And with Shadow Clones, brute-force learning was totally viable.
"Train at your own pace. If you run into problems, just ask."
With that, Kitazawa turned and made his way toward Hinata.
"Looks like Naruto's having fun," she said softly, having seen the whole scene.
"Want to learn Shadow Clone Jutsu?" Kitazawa grinned. "A whole bunch of Hinatas? Honestly, kind of adorable."
"I… maybe later," Hinata said, flustered but thoughtful. "I want to master Eight Trigrams: Sixty-Four Palms first."
"You've already got the first six strikes down. At this rate, by the end of summer, you'll hit ten easily."
He patted her on the head. "Compared to last term, you're way ahead of where Neji was."
"Really?" Her eyes lit up, a big smile blooming across her face.
Neji had always been considered a genius—someone far beyond her reach. She'd never imagined she'd actually catch up.
"Yeah," Kitazawa nodded. "But after this summer, who knows how much he'll improve."
Neji had also learned the first six strikes during the first term. He'd definitely be training this summer too.
But there was a world of difference between self-study and having proper instructors.
Hinata had both Kitazawa and Hiashi teaching her.
"I'll do my best!" she said with newfound determination.
"Let's get started, then." Kitazawa nodded approvingly.
He genuinely liked Hinata's character. She looked gentle and timid on the outside, but inside she was tough as nails—determined, focused, and able to grind through anything without complaining.
After lunch, Kitazawa left a Shadow Clone behind to supervise and returned to Kurenai's house.
In just over a week—technically, one week and two days—he'd already learned two genjutsu:
A-rank: Temple of Nirvana Technique
D-rank: Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique
Just one more and he'd complete the system's genjutsu task.
"Kurenai—"
He stepped into the living room and nearly called her "sensei," but stopped mid-sentence.
Because sitting there with Kurenai were Tsunade and Shizune.
Well, that's not normal, Kitazawa thought. Only one thing came to mind.
"Did the new jutsu work?"
He got right to the point.
Tsunade yawned. "Had a sudden burst of inspiration at the casino this morning. Came back and threw it together."
Kitazawa twitched. Casino inspiration? More like 'I lost all my money and needed a plan fast.'
Still, he smiled. "As expected of Tsunade-sama. You make the impossible look easy."
"You're not too bad yourself," she said with a smirk. "Shizune told me—you're already practicing the Chakra Scalpel?"
"Yep," he nodded.
After learning Delicate Illness Extraction, Shizune had started guiding him on the scalpel technique—though truthfully, the system had already installed it into his brain.
"So fast?" Kurenai looked stunned.
Kitazawa was simultaneously studying genjutsu and medical ninjutsu at top speed. It was starting to make her question the laws of learning itself.
Does this guy even have breaks? Is learning jutsu seriously this easy for him?
Compared to her own slow progress with genjutsu, Kurenai felt completely demoralized.
"You'll get used to it," Shizune said gently, patting her on the shoulder.
She could already see the future: the day when she would go from senpai… to kouhai.
"So, how's the new jutsu?" Kitazawa cleared his throat and got them back on track.
"It's similar to Yakumo's Realm," Kurenai explained. "It creates an illusionary world and drags the target inside. But it's not unbreakable. A stronger shinobi could probably snap out of it. I'd rank it as a B-rank technique."
Yakumo's genjutsu was so powerful that even elite jonin struggled to detect it, let alone escape.
"I've got a name for it," Kitazawa said suddenly, inspiration striking. "How about… Mirror Flower, Water Moon (Kyoka Suigetsu)?"
