"Winner: Uzumaki Naruto!"
Kitazawa's voice rang out just in time, and Year 1 Class A immediately exploded with shocked gasps.
Naruto had always shown solid strength—but his opponent was Uchiha Sasuke, the famously untouchable genius. And throughout the match, it had looked like Sasuke had it in the bag.
Naruto's explosive comeback win? Left everyone stunned.
"Wait... Naruto actually won?"
Choji's jaw dropped. A chip hovered halfway to his mouth.
"Didn't see that coming," Ino agreed, nodding.
Compared to Naruto, Sasuke was basically the poster boy for 'top dog.' And to be fair, that rep wasn't unearned—since enrollment, Sasuke had crushed every metric with flying colors. Naruto? His first weeks were practically tragic.
"That's just broken."
Kiba couldn't help but grumble.
"Who the hell learns a B-rank Shadow Clone Jutsu at age six?"
Kiba considered himself a prodigy in the Inuzuka clan. But in Class A, he was average at best. Comparing himself to Naruto now? Instant ego kill.
"Sasuke's already mastered the B-rank Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire."
Shikamaru shook his head, analyzing.
"Naruto didn't win because of clones. He won because of that final burst of speed."
"Yeah," Shino said, his tone more serious than usual.
"Even my bugs couldn't keep up with that speed."
"Think it's Might Guy's training?" Choji asked, remembering Naruto bragging about it.
"Then yeah, Naruto earned it."
Ino visibly shivered.
Might Guy's training was legendary. And by legendary, they meant inhuman. No normal person could survive it.
"Sasuke-kun... how could this happen...?"
Sakura stumbled a step back, completely lost.
Ino glanced sideways at her. Yeah, their little bet? Clearly settled in Ino's favor.
Sasuke had just lost his title in the practical exam. And while the theory exam results weren't out yet, Ino trusted Shikamaru. The guy was lazy, but if he'd gone all-out for once, the results were probably monstrous.
…
"Naruto, excellent work!"
Old man Hiruzen's face practically bloomed with joy.
Honestly, he hadn't been this happy since the Nine-Tails rampage. Naruto wasn't just Minato's son—he was also the Nine-Tails jinchuriki. The stronger Naruto got, the better it was for the village.
And unlike most jinchuriki who only relied on their tailed beast, Naruto had real talent. That kind of combo? Rare.
Minato's genes. Kushina's blood. Plus the Nine-Tails?
Hiruzen couldn't help but imagine the future. Konoha's golden age, here we come.
And Naruto wasn't the only rising star—Sasuke, Hinata, Shino, all of them were standouts. This generation? Total monsters. A straight-up golden age of talent.
[Current Mission: Help Uzumaki Naruto defeat Uchiha Sasuke once.]
[Reward: +10% Chakra Capacity Card.]
[Mission Complete. Reward Delivered.]
Kitazawa's eyes flicked to the floating system message, and he couldn't help smiling.
Finally got that one knocked out—and the reward wasn't bad at all.
Adding this to his previous boost and that 10% chunk of Senju bloodline, his chakra pool was just shy of a full card now. At this point, he was a legit elite jonin. Not just that—he could go toe-to-toe with most and still win. No glaring weak spots.
But he knew one thing well: in the ninja world, bloodlines were everything. Being strong was great. Having a bloodline? That's what got you into the history books.
The problem? Bloodlines were stupidly hard to get.
Still, even tough odds beat impossible ones. With his system, he was already miles ahead of the competition.
…
"Don't touch me!"
Sasuke's voice cut through the murmurs.
Kitazawa glanced over.
Naruto had reached out to help Sasuke up—but got shut down hard.
Honestly? Kitazawa got it. Sasuke had been called a genius his whole life, always ahead of the curve. Watching Naruto go from nobody to "the guy who beat me" in a few months? That stung.
If Naruto had always been strong, maybe Sasuke wouldn't feel this bad. But seeing someone catch up—then overtake you, step by step? Brutal.
"Iruka, tally the scores."
Kitazawa casually handed over the score sheet.
This state of mind Sasuke was in? It was exactly the right time to trigger another mission.
"Sasuke."
Kitazawa stepped forward.
Sasuke didn't say anything.
He wasn't the type to throw a tantrum—especially not at Kitazawa, who'd helped him more than most. But today hit hard. He lost to Naruto. Barely scraped by against Shikamaru. Hinata and Shino looked stronger than ever.
Why am I not like my brother, Itachi? Why is this so hard? I'm supposed to be a genius... right?
"One loss isn't the end," Kitazawa said, giving his shoulder a reassuring tap.
"You're an Uchiha, remember?"
"I'm not worthy of the name."
Sasuke's voice was tight and bitter.
To lose this badly, over and over... it was humiliating. He could already imagine the look on his father's face. And Itachi's.
"Have you forgotten what makes the Uchiha truly dangerous?"
Kitazawa met his eyes.
"It's the Sharingan."
"The Sharingan..."
Sasuke jerked his head up.
"Hinata, Shikamaru, Naruto—they've all shown their strengths. But you? You've only shown half of yours."
Sasuke blinked, stunned.
The Hyuga had Byakugan. The Nara had shadows. The Aburame had bugs. Naruto had ridiculous taijutsu.
The Uchiha? Fire jutsu… and the Sharingan.
And he hadn't even activated it yet.
"If I awaken the Sharingan, I can beat them all!"
Sasuke's eyes lit up with fire again.
But then—
Wait… how the hell do I awaken it?
He'd asked Itachi once, but got a cryptic non-answer.
"Kitazawa-sensei… can you help me unlock it?"
Sasuke looked up with rare vulnerability.
He normally wouldn't ask an outsider for help. But Kitazawa wasn't normal. All the top performers—Hinata, Naruto, Shikamaru, even Ino—had trained with him. And Sasuke knew just how mediocre they'd been when they started.
Especially Naruto. The kid had been a disaster—couldn't even do a proper clone. Sasuke had honestly thought he'd never become a ninja.
And now… Naruto had beaten him.
The reason?
Kitazawa.
[New Mission: Help Uchiha Sasuke awaken the Sharingan.]
[Reward: Proficiency in Yin Release Chakra Nature.]
Kitazawa raised an eyebrow.
Now that was tempting.
He already had Yang Release proficiency, and it made related jutsu a breeze. Yin Release was perfect for genjutsu, Nara-style tricks, and Yamanaka stuff too. Sharingan and eye-based abilities? Pure Yin Release.
This reward made sense.
"Let's give it a shot."
Kitazawa smiled.
"You're training with me this summer."
"Thank you, sensei!"
Sasuke looked like he'd just found hope again.
"Today's practical exam is officially over. Go home and rest. I'll see you at 9 AM, day after tomorrow," Kitazawa announced.
No way was he diving straight into training right after finals. He wasn't that cruel.
"Yes, Kitazawa-sensei."
Sasuke exhaled. The cloud hanging over him had lifted a bit.
"Kitazawa-sensei's amazing," Naruto muttered, impressed.
He hadn't known what to say to Sasuke—but Kitazawa handled it perfectly.
"Naruto, just wait. I'm taking the top spot next term!"
Sasuke huffed.
"The Sharingan makes your speed useless!"
"Rivalry is the fire of youth!"
Naruto flashed a thumbs-up, teeth gleaming.
"..."
Sasuke wanted to scream. He really doesn't get it.
All this "youthful energy" crap? Just another name for psychological torment.
"Sensei, is it our turn to spar now?"
Naruto suddenly perked up.
"You're what?"
Sasuke's eyes widened. Why didn't I think of that?!
"You're going to spar?"
Hiruzen walked over, catching the tail end of the conversation.
Kitazawa quietly explained the setup: Naruto wanted to learn a jutsu like Shadow Clone, but Kitazawa wanted to test if he could handle it.
"Still haven't decided what to teach him," he added casually.
"Teach him the Rasengan," Hiruzen said after a pause, a nostalgic gleam in his eye.
Bingo, Kitazawa thought. He already knew it. And given who Naruto was, the Rasengan was practically his birthright.
[New Mission: Help Naruto learn the Rasengan.]
[Reward: +20% Senju Bloodline.]
Kitazawa blinked.
Now that's what I'm talking about.
His previous 10% Senju boost had already been game-changing. Another 20%? Massive leap.
"Understood, Hokage-sama."
"See me after finals," Hiruzen nodded, clearly pleased.
The class suddenly went dead quiet.
Kitazawa and Naruto had walked into the center of the field—and formed the seal of confrontation.
"Naruto's fighting Kitazawa-sensei?!"
Ino's eyes nearly popped out of her head.
"...Huh?"
Even Shikamaru short-circuited for a second.
"Is he getting cocky after winning?"
"Naruto doesn't strike me as that type," Shino muttered.
"Sasuke-kun!"
Sakura ran over.
"What's going on?"
"Naruto's challenging Kitazawa-sensei."
Sasuke shrugged.
"Don't know why, though."
"What a mad lad."
Kiba whistled.
"Still, it's so Naruto."
Kitazawa wasn't just a teacher—he was the teacher. Everyone he trained had come out leagues better. His strength was basically a given now.
"Naruto's gonna get wrecked," Ino judged.
Hinata nodded quickly. Yeah. Same.
"I think it's pretty cool," Choji said, munching chips.
"Let's go, sensei!"
Naruto shouted, forming the seal and charging straight in.
Kitazawa didn't even flinch. He clenched a fist—and threw a punch.
"Leaf Whirlwind!"
Naruto kicked out mid-run… and got sent flying back a few steps by a single counterpunch.
"Still as strong as ever, huh."
He straightened up.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Three Narutos charged from different directions, fast enough to leave afterimages.
Kitazawa watched, unfazed. Even without Byakugan, their moves were telegraphed.
Naruto was strong for a six-year-old, sure—but his ceiling right now was Chunin.
Kitazawa dodged the front kick with a blur of movement, then punched left and right—launching the other two clones with ease.
"Again!"
The remaining two got up fast. Kitazawa had pulled his hits—no one was injured.
Hiruzen watched silently. Kitazawa was handling the match like a pro.
Just taijutsu. No jutsu needed. And still, Naruto couldn't keep up—speed, strength, technique… Kitazawa had him beat in all three.
Only thing Naruto did have was a bigger chakra pool—but too few jutsu to make use of it.
Hiruzen stroked his beard thoughtfully. A new jutsu reward for Kitazawa, maybe?
"They'll wrap this up soon," Kiba said.
"Sensei's just on another level."
"If Naruto's struggling this much, the rest of us are toast," Shikamaru added, leaning back.
Sasuke nodded silently. Watching this? Made him believe.
Yeah… with Kitazawa's help, I can awaken the Sharingan.
"That's our Kitazawa-sensei," Ino said proudly.
Hinata glanced at her. Why did Ino sound so into him lately?
Choji nibbled another chip, wondering—should he ask to join the special training too?
"Leaf Double Whirlwind!"
Two Narutos closed in, one front, one back.
Kitazawa hopped back, formed a quick seal—
"Wind Style: Gale Palm!"
A blast of wind roared from his palm, ballooning outward.
BANG!
The lead clone took the full force and popped into smoke.
Kitazawa scanned left and right—spotted the real one. With the clone gone, Naruto had just absorbed a flood of memories. He'd be disoriented for a split second.
Perfect timing.
Kitazawa flickered forward.
"Rasengan."
A sphere of spiraling chakra exploded to life in his palm.
He drove it straight into the last clone.
In less than a second—poof!—it vanished.
And the remaining force slammed into the ground.
BOOM!
The earth cracked. Dirt flew skyward. Within seconds, a crater formed—its rippling edges etched like water waves frozen in time.
