Kitazawa froze in place for several seconds. Only after the system finished pouring information into his mind did he slowly come back to himself.
As expected of one of the legendary dōjutsu born of the Five‑Village conflicts, the Byakugan is an enormous boost for an ordinary ninja.
If his strength had already been close to jōnin level before, he could now—barely—be called a jōnin.
Add Gentle Fist on top of that and he was a bona‑fide jōnin.
Kitazawa hurried toward the training ground on Konoha's outskirts.
It was after working hours, so the grounds were deserted.
He took out a hand‑mirror. His eyes in the reflection were still black.
"For once the system did something smart,"
Kitazawa nodded in satisfaction.
When the Sharingan activates, a comma‑shaped tomoe appears, but when it's deactivated it looks like an ordinary eye—for Uchiha, anyway. One big reason Kakashi is always so drained is that he can't close his Sharingan.
The Byakugan, however—the second great eye technique of Konoha—works differently: open or shut, it is pure white and instantly recognizable.
Fortunately, Kitazawa had his "cheat."
His eyes turn white only when he activates the Byakugan; when it's off, they look perfectly normal.
Activate.
Veins bulged around his eye sockets. In the next instant his world flipped upside down: from 360‑p "smooth‑play" to 4‑K ultra high‑def—with a full 360‑degree field of view. It was like having eyes in the back of his head.
"Marvelous."
The more he examined the all‑direction panorama, the more he grasped how frightening the Byakugan was. No wonder most Hyūga with decent talent make it to jōnin.
He turned toward a nearby tree. With a thought the tree vanished from his vision, replaced by whatever lay behind it.
He looked at his own hand and saw, crisp and clear, the meridians, tenketsu points, bones and flowing chakra.
The Byakugan has three main functions: insight, x‑ray vision and telescopic vision. He had tested the first two; only distance vision remained.
He lifted his gaze. His sight kept extending, pulling in every scene along the way, until it finally stopped one kilometer out.
A full kilometer—in radius, not a straight line. And that wasn't the ceiling; with training the range could grow.
Kitazawa shut the Byakugan off and let out a slow breath.
Testing showed his current Byakugan equaled that of an average Hyūga jōnin. The system had also delivered all the relevant knowledge, so further training could refine it—though evolving it into a Tenseigan was out of the question.
Even so, an ordinary Byakugan was plenty useful. He felt his combat power had skyrocketed.
Calming down, he headed home. Several times on the way he itched to turn the Byakugan back on, but resisted. He couldn't explain where it came from, and getting caught would be messy—especially since high‑level ninja can sense when someone is peering at them with the Byakugan.

The Next Morning
While buying breakfast, Kitazawa casually picked up a pair of sunglasses.
"Kitazawa‑sensei!"
Hinata Hyūga greeted him with a bright smile.
"Did you tell your father you can eat normally now?" he asked, remembering her mission—feed her properly and have her reveal her secret herself, the second part likely tied to Hiashi.
"How did you know?" Hinata blinked in surprise.
"I guessed." Kitazawa tapped her forehead. "Congratulations."
"Thank you…" She lowered her gaze. "It was your courage that helped me, Sensei."
Her voice was soft, almost whisper‑like.
"I didn't do anything," he said, shaking his head. "You were brave on your own."
Hinata stared, momentarily dazed.
"How's your water‑walking practice?" he asked, changing the subject.
"I can walk clean across the lake now."
"Good—that means you've finished the basic drill." He smiled. "What do you want to train next?"
"Eh?" Hinata looked blank for a few seconds, then said, "I'll follow your plan, Sensei."
"Then tell me—what's your current wish?"
He was fishing for a new mission trigger.
"Me?" Hinata tilted her head, thought a moment, and said, "I want to awaken my Byakugan as soon as possible."
Four glowing lines popped up in front of Kitazawa; his smile widened. He was starting to get a feel for how the system generated quests.
[Your deskmate Hinata Hyūga is seeking your help.]
[Current Mission: Help Hinata Hyūga awaken the Byakugan.]
[Reward: Eight Trigrams Mountain Crusher.]
[Accept?]
Of course he accepted. Mountain Crusher is a Gentle Fist taijutsu—akin to monstrous strength—that can smash through mountains.
"Very well," he said with a smile. "In this afternoon's combat class I'll give you a different exercise."
"What kind of exercise?" Hinata asked, curious.
"That's a secret." He held a finger to her lips. "Promise you won't tell anyone—not even your father."
"Mm." Hinata blushed and nodded.
…
Afternoon Combat Class
Class 1‑A started the personalized drills Kitazawa had assigned the day before.
"Sensei," Sakura Haruno asked, "why does only Hinata get a different exercise?"
Her chakra control was excellent; though she'd lagged at first, she'd caught up and was practicing water‑walking alongside Hinata and Ino. Since their progress was about equal, Sakura was puzzled.
"We're competing with Class 2‑A in four events," Kitazawa explained. "For chakra‑control I'm betting on you and Ino."
"Really?" Sakura looked shocked.
"Absolutely," he said. "Which means your water‑walking practice needs tweaking."
"What tweak?"
"When you're on the water, Ino will pelt you with wooden kunai to disrupt your focus," he said with a cheerful smile. "Then switch—she walks, you throw."
"Sensei, are you a devil?" Sakura's eyes went wide.
"To prevent cheating I'll add one more rule," he mused. "Whoever gets hit the most—double homework."
"You really are a devil!" Sakura said, stunned.
"Sorry, Sakura!" Ino rolled up her sleeves, showing her pale arms. "Looks like you'll be doing the homework!"
Kitazawa chuckled softly.
Three sentences—and I've got the girls ready to turn on each other.
