Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Small Step Toward Your Heart

That morning, like usual, Ren came very early to school. He walked to class 11 2C, which was his class.

‎However, before arriving at school, he helped an old lady cross the street. Because of that, he was slightly later than usual.

‎When he opened the door to enter his classroom, he was surprised because he accidentally saw Aiko wiping her sweat while only wearing women's innerwear. Both of them were shocked, and Ren quickly apologized while spontaneously closing the door out of embarrassment for seeing Aiko wearing only her innerwear.

‎While outside, Ren sighed, and from behind him, Cecilia, who had just arrived and looked confused, tapped Ren on the shoulder, surprising him for the second time.

‎"Ren, why did you suddenly slam the door shut? What happened?" asked Lia (Cecilia) curiously. "It's nothing, I was just a little surprised," Ren replied while turning his gaze away. "Hmm, you're hiding something from me," said Lia while giving Ren a suspicious look. Then, without saying another word, she directly opened the door.

‎As Lia opened it and both of them (Ren and Lia) peeked in, she was also stunned by Aiko's beauty as she tied her hair while raising both her arms. "Luckily, she's already put her clothes back on," Ren said to himself while remembering the earlier incident in embarrassment. "Looks like he fell in love at first sight," Lia said to herself while gazing at Aiko.

‎When Aiko realized someone was watching her, she turned and said, "Why are you two just standing there and not coming in?" Then Ren and Lia entered the classroom, with Ren and Aiko still feeling awkward.

‎Not long after that incident, students began arriving in class, and the first lesson bell rang.

‎During the break between the first and second period, Ren, who was looking out the window, got hit by a paper ball thrown by someone from the side. Ren picked up the paper, opened it, and read it. "KEEP THIS MORNING'S INCIDENT A SECRET." There was no name written, but Ren knew who had written it. Ren had an awkward smile while turning his face back to the window because he knew the one who threw the paper was sitting right next to him on his right.

‎Throughout the lesson, Ren didn't dare look to his right and tried to stay focused on looking straight ahead.

‎After school, Lia asked Ren because usually, he would space out and look around, but today he was focused straight ahead. "Ren, why were you suddenly so focused looking straight ahead?" Lia asked Ren. "Ahh… you're just imagining things..." said Ren while turning his gaze away. "Yeah, maybe I only happened to catch you when you were focused." "Alright then, I'm heading home… If anything happens, just message me."

‎Back in the classroom with only Ren and Aiko there, as Ren was packing his things, Aiko approached him. "Why did you keep looking straight ahead during the whole lesson and not dare to look at me? You must still be thinking about this morning. Forget about that incident, you pervert," said Aiko, embarrassed, turning her face away from Ren and leaving with a cute yet annoyed face.

‎After school (at Ren's house), Ren lay on his bed and murmured, "I really didn't mean to see that (this morning's incident). What was her name again… but she is really pretty, ehh... no, no. I have to apologize to her, but I don't know how~" Then Ren remembered Lia's words: "If anything happens, just message me." So Ren gathered his courage to ask Lia how to properly apologize to a girl. "Maybe Lia knows how to sincerely apologize to a girl," said Ren with a guilty tone.

‎Lia then suggested they talk over the phone to avoid any miscommunication.

‎The next day after school, Ren looked at the notes he had written and tried to follow all of Lia's advice from the day before.

‎...… Contents of the note:

‎"First, apologize when she's not in a rush or busy.

‎Second, do it when the class is quiet, not crowded.

‎Third, don't describe your mistake in detail. Just admit your fault.

‎Fourth, speak softly, humbly, and politely.

‎Fifth, don't force her to forgive you right away.

‎Sixth, give her something to increase the chances of success. Seventh, Make a note so you won't get confused when apologizing.

‎'I'm really sorry... I honestly didn't mean to do that earlier, and I deeply regret it. I know it was wrong, and I promise to be more careful. I hope you're not still bothered by it. Once again, I'm really sorry.'

‎...…

‎Ren tried to gather the courage to apologize to Aiko after school.
