Chapter 72 - Chapter 71

Chapter 71 The King of Shipping.

Brett gazed at the Fishman hovering above the pirate vessel before him.

Vander decken IX, an Fishman of the tiger-shark species characterized by prominent stripes, serves as the captain of the Flying Pirates, and utilizes the Mark Mark fruit

Brett had memorized this data, since Vander, caused alot of trouble for him.

Fish-Man Island is also inhabited by pirates. They are not pirates in the traditional sense, akin to the Sun Pirates, who navigated the open seas; rather, they are fish-man pirates who roam Fish-Man Island and engage in hostile actions against humans traversing the area, as well as against Fish-Man Island itself.

Arlong exhibited this behavior in the past and Vander is the same type of Fishman

Following the economic development of Fish-Man Island, Vander appeared to recognize entrepreneurial opportunities and initiated periodic attacks on human trading vessels.

This elicited considerable anger in Brett.

Whenever Vander engaged in attacks on other human merchant vessels, Brett did not deem it necessary to focus his attention on him; however, he intervened near Fish-Man Island, resulting in the demise of numerous fish-man guards.

However, at this moment, Brett became cognizant of the challenges faced by the navy. He was aware of his existence and harbored the intention to locate and Kill him. Nevertheless, Vander did not revisit Fish-Man Island; instead, he remained active in proximity to the Red line's large hollow. He was nowhere to be located.

However, this circumstance concludes today.

As Brett said, Vander is very unlucky, because he won't let him leave here alive.

In stark contrast to the exhilaration and enthusiasm exhibited by the Fishman warriors and merchants, the facial expressions of the fishman on the pirate vessel abruptly transformed, as they exclaimed in dismay, "What shall we do, Captain, it is that bastard Brett!"

The Fishmen were unaware of Brett's history of assassinating numerous high-ranking naval marines. All that was known about the fishman before them was his adeptness at unifying the entirety of Fishman Street and his frequent, solo captures of sea beasts. In the preceding year, he guided his team in the simultaneous eradication of multiple sea beasts. Then there was the massacre of tens of thousands of human pirates, he's undoubtedly a monster.

"What are you idiots afraid of?!" Vander clenched his teeth and exclaimed, "Regardless of anything, he is just one person!"

Brett exhibited a slight twitch of his lips.

"Hehehehe, you will regret arriving alone, Brett!" Vander experienced a sudden surge of courage, and he smirked ominously, stating, "By killing you, the Entry Administration will descend into chaos, thereby enabling me to invade Fish-Man Island and engage in plunder!"

'This guy, sure is delusional.' Brett held this viewpoint.

"Everyone, assemble! Kill this Bastard ! Numerous riches await us on Fish-Man Island!" Vander exclaimed.

Pirates reacted vehemently.

OOOH!

The immense Wadatsumi vigorously struck his chest with both hands and exclaimed at a high volume.

Brett abruptly perceived the voice of Alexander.

He oriented his head, and the sea King situated at the seabed not far from him exhibited a slight inclination to engage.

'Is combat the sole preoccupation of your thoughts?'

Brett shook his head, aware that Alexander was observing him.

'What?' Vander observed Brett's actions. 'Who is he shaking his head at?'

Vander surveyed the vicinity, yet observed nothing beyond a substantial submerged rock formation.

'Never mind, it's not important, let's kill him.'

The fish-man pirates have initiated an offensive.

Vander concealed himself among the pirates and discreetly removed his gloves.

'Hahaha, provided that I can make physical contact with him, the matter will be over!'

"Protect Director Brett!" The fishman warrior emitted a vehement roar and prepared to engage the pirates in a life-or-death battle.

"Unnecessary."Brett gestured dismissively, stating, "Allow me to handle it." Lighting flashed across both of Brett's arms.

"Electric current- Sea current shoulder throw!"

The immense ocean current was expelled by Brett, ascending rapidly, before abruptly descending. The substantial ocean current, characterized by a thickness ranging from tens to hundreds of meters, consumed all the fish-man pirates without exception.

The prevailing current reached the seabed, dispersing all particulate matter, and directly impacted the underlying bedrock.

"!..."

Vander Decken, having narrowly avoided death by seeking refuge behind an object, was rendered astonished.

He is not naive. He has acquired knowledge of the fish body technique and understands that antagonizing an opponent capable of employing such a significant maneuver is inadvisable.

"Wadatsumi!! Wadatsumi! What are you doing! Go kill him!" Vander's voice exhibited a heightened pitch indicative of considerable apprehension.

"Yes, Captain!" Wadatsumi replied loudly before striking Brett.

Quickly advancing forward, he evaded Wadatsumi's punch and seized his arm, applying significant pressure.

"Huh?" Wadatsumi was confused, his physical form was elevated by Brett. He executed a circular motion in the water before descending forcefully onto the seabed.

"Whaaaaa!!" Wadatsumi emitted a loud scream.

"Finally! I got you!" Unexpectedly, a voice emerged from behind.

Brett didn't need to turn around to know what was happening.

'Instead of fleeing, you have the audaciously approached me?'

Vander Decken exhibited considerable enthusiasm and was poised to make contact with Brett's back.

'As long as I can touch him, it'll be my victory!'

He possesses the Mark devil fruit. As long as he makes physical contact with Brett, the target, irrespective of what he throws, even a Mountain. His aim will be directed towards Brett, the target.

In the subsequent instant, just as Vander was about to touch Brett.

Snap-

"Whaaaaaaaaaaah!!" Vander decken exclaimed in anguish due to the abrupt onset of pain.

Brett pivoted and seized Vander's wrist with his right hand, exerting considerable force that fractured the bones directly.

"You are right, my friend, this is indeed a challenging battle!''

Brett heard the voice emanating from afar and directed a smile in that direction.

"I will resume my training regimen forthwith, I am confident that I will be markedly stronger by the time we meet again!" Alexander stated as much.

Brett nodded before looking at Vander who was wailing in agony, stating, "You are finished, Vander decken."

Before he could finish his sentence, Brett was stabbed in the chest with a knife.

With a single click, the knife shattered.

"What...?" Vander Decken exclaimed in astonishment

"People like you can't change."

Brett clenched his fist, "Only death can make you change."

Wooosh~

Boomâ€"!

The muscles were smashed, the bones were shattered, and then the power penetrated into his body before his heart exploded.

Brett threw Vander Decken aside like a piece of trash.

As he slowly landed towards the bottom of the sea, Vander saw a huge monster slowly leaving in the distance.

"That's...a Sea King? Was he communicating with it? So it turns out that the person that my family has been pursuing for generations is actually this man? But why... he's a man?'

With doubts and confusion, Vander stopped thinking, embracing death.

After the crisis was over, the fishmen warriors and merchants cheered, especially the human merchants, who was extremely grateful to Brett.

Brett expressed his apology for shocking them, and the businessman was flattered.

After a few pleasantries, the fishman guards escorted the merchant ship away.

Brett looked at the pirates scattered on the bottom of the sea. Vander Decken was already dead. The Fishmen who were lucky enough to survive could just as well be thrown into prison.

'What should I do about him?' Brett looked at Wadatsumi who was knocked unconscious. ' Didn't Vander say, he just joined his pirate crew?

Brett remembered that Wadatsumi in the original work was a very simple fish-man who was very loyal to his superiors. He cried sadly because of being abandoned by Vanderdecken.

Later he left Fishman island, he posed as a sea god and helped people, but his carelessness led to him destroying two towns. After being scolded by Jinbei and apologizing, he asked to travel with Jinbei and eventually became a member of the Sun Pirates. When the Straw Hats fled from cake island, he helped them.

'He has potential. I'll leave him with Brother Jinbei, he'll guide and train him.'

Brett contacted headquarters and requested a patrol team to assemble all the pirates along with Wadatsumi.

Wadatsumi was of such considerable size that multiple sea beasts was needed to move him.

The fish-man pirates were incarcerated, while Brett and the sea beasts escorted Wadatsumi to the training facility.

"Who is he?" Jinbei experienced a degree of astonishment upon observing Wadatsumi's positioning on the training field. Fishmen of such a significant size were exceedingly rare.

Brett told the circumstances surrounding Wadatsumi to him.

Upon receiving this information, Jinbei exhibited a slight nod, remarking, "I understand."

He clenched his fists and declared, "I will make this kid change his ways"

'I wonder how, he'll do that?' Brett thought curiously.

'Well It doesn't matter, as long as it serves a purpose.'

The following day, Tesoro made his appearance.

Tesoro has been visiting Fish-Man Island with increasing frequency recently, as Brett has at last discovered the underwater gold mine he had long envisioned. While it is a considerable distance from Fish-Man Island, the logistics of transportation present significant challenges; however, this is inconsequential, as Tesoro possesses substantial wealth.

"Tell me Tesoro, what technological advancements have you brought to me this time?" Brett asked with a grin.

Following an extensive period of collaboration, the interpersonal relationship between the two is notably positive.

At least that is how it appears superficially.

"We will discuss that later. Unfortunately, I bring bad news." Tesoro said in a solemn demeanor.

"What do you mean by bad news?"

"Someone holds considerable amount of dissatisfaction towards you." Tesoro remarked.

"Who?" Brett experienced a degree of astonishment.' Just who had I offend?'

"King of Shipping, I imagine you are familiar with this title, Brett."
