Chapter 25 - Imperial Concerns

"Baduuuum!"

Raigan slammed into Reidan with his shoulder. "Groaaaar! Thud!" Reidan fell, but she immediately swept Raigan's legs with her tail. "Thud!" Raigan stumbled backward and fell. After that, both got back up, and "Slam!" they crashed into each other again, testing their strength. Each collision they made shook the ground, causing an earthquake for the empire. "Waaaaaaaah!" The residents, who were running to evacuate into the capital, started falling as the ground beneath them violently trembled.

The knights, guards, and soldiers helped the residents get back on their feet and continue running towards the capital's gate.

"Quick... quick!" a knight shouted, turning to see Kiko standing in front of the fortress.

Kiko turned to see the panic inside the fortress. "Uuuuuuuuuung!" Kiko's voice echoed, making everyone inside the fortress even more panicked. Finally, Kiko turned back to see Raigan and Reidan still fighting, then slowly floated towards them. But before Kiko could go far, "Blaaaar!" a huge fireball slammed into her back.

"Uuuuuuuuuuuuuung!"

Kiko's body swayed but didn't fall. Then she turned to see a young-looking lion-faced beastman riding a dragon, floating behind her.

"Prince Leopold... Prince Leopold has arrived! We're saved!" shouts could be heard from inside the fortress, and many soldiers and knights cheered.

"Greeeeek!" Kiko turned, her eyes narrowing at Leopold, who was flying on his dragon right in front of her face.

"My name is Leopold Alexius Sandrion, I am the first prince of the Sandrion Empire. My job is Dragon Knight, SS rank. I ask you to leave, or face the consequences, Gigas," Leopold said, pointing his spear at Kiko's face.

"Uuuuuuuuuuuuung!"

Kiko brought her face right in front of Leopold, who was suspended in the air with his dragon. Of course, Leopold felt fear, but he couldn't ignore the cheers from the knights and soldiers in the fortress.

"Leave, Gigas!" Leopold said, resigned.

"Uuuuuuuung!"

Kiko's eyes narrowed even further, her hands came up, and "Slap!" she swatted Leopold and his dragon like swatting a mosquito. The fortress immediately fell silent, but only for a moment before panic resumed. Kiko opened her hands, and it turned out Leopold and his dragon were still alive, but unconscious in Kiko's palm.

"Uuuuuuuuuuuung!"

Kiko floated closer to the fortress, then she gently placed Leopold and his dragon on the tower, leaving everyone who saw it stunned and speechless.

"Uuuuuuuung!"

Kiko turned and left, heading towards Raigan and Reidan, who were still fighting. A knight approached Leopold.

"Hey, quickly help His Royal Highness Leopold! He's still alive!" the knight shouted.

"How could... that Gigas not kill the prince? Could it be that it's actually kind?" a soldier asked, watching Kiko move away.

"Enough, don't talk nonsense. Quickly help His Highness!" the knight retorted.

"Thump!" Raigan slammed Reidan's head, making Reidan stumble back, then shake her head, her hand rising to hold her head.

"That's enough, Reidan," Raigan said.

"W-why are you stopping me?" Reidan asked.

"Because I want you to control your anger and not repeat my mistakes," Raigan replied.

"Big brother!"

Raigan and Reidan turned to see Kiko floating towards them. After that, Reidan stepped forward, closer to Raigan. She seemed to be starting to remember something as a result of Raigan hitting her head.

"I... Rafina?" Reidan asked.

"That's right, you're Rafina. Do you remember now?" Raigan asked.

"A little... I remember I was almost... oh no, I remember what happened," Reidan replied.

"Alright, let's go. You can tell us later," Raigan said.

"W-where?" Reidan asked.

"East, there's an oasis there," (He looked at Kiko.) "Come on, Kiko," Raigan said, beckoning Reidan and Kiko.

"Okay, let's go, big sister Reidan," Kiko urged.

"Y-yes, let's go," Reidan replied.

"Baduuuum... baduuuum!" The three immediately headed east towards the oasis Raigan mentioned. As they walked, Raigan glanced at Reidan walking beside him.

"If she remembers that I destroyed her kingdom, will she resent me?" Raigan wondered.

Meanwhile, at the fortress, the soldiers and knights saw the three enormous Gigas change their direction and walk east. "Clatter!" Several knights and soldiers dropped their weapons, and "Thud!" they fell to the ground, but their faces looked incredibly relieved.

"We're safe," a knight mumbled.

"Y-yes, sir. Just one was terrifying, let alone three at once. I thought I wouldn't see the sun again tomorrow," a soldier added.

In the palace, "Bruuugh!" Emperor Gelasius fell to a seated position, but this time he exhaled in relief, and his face looked relaxed again. A knight entered the balcony.

"Reporting, Your Majesty, the prince is unharmed. He is currently being brought back to the capital," the knight announced.

"Oh, thank goodness. Please take care of him," Gelasius replied.

"Yes, Your Majesty," the knight responded.

After the knight left, Gelasius slowly stood up. He walked to the edge of the balcony and observed the city, then he looked towards the distant fortress.

"Something like this must not happen again. I must inform the tribal chief of Dark Moon and King Celestria," (He thought.) "But in the Kingdom of Celestria, there's a large monastery of the Eastern continent's religion. This could become a big deal in their hands, and if their religious center hears about it, they will surely attack the central continent, because not everyone in the central continent follows their teachings, and the Gigas will be used as their excuse to make us all convert to their religion, this is concerning," Gelasius mumbled.

Gelasius turned around and walked back into his palace, heading to his study. Once inside, he saw a wolf-type beastman knight already waiting for him. When the knight saw Gelasius, he immediately knelt before him.

"Greetings, Your Majesty," the knight saluted.

"Rise, Atticus," Gelasius said.

Atticus stood up. Gelasius immediately walked to his chair behind the desk, then he sat there while Atticus stood in front of his desk.

"I saw it directly from the watchtower. The Gigas that Guild Master Saber mentioned are truly real, and there isn't just one, when they attacked the city of Trierra, I didn't see it in person because I was out of town, but today I saw them...clearly," Atticus reported.

"Yes, I saw it clearly too. Now can you help me? there is something that worries me," Gelasius asked.

"Just say the word, Your Majesty," Atticus replied.

Gelasius immediately expressed his concerns and his intention to inform the leaders of the three other regions. He asked Atticus to deliver his message directly to King Tiobaid, the king of the Kingdom of Celestria.

"I understand, Your Majesty. I will deliver it personally to him in secret. Before returning to the city of Trierra, I will make a detour to the Kingdom of Celestria," Atticus replied.

"Alright, I will prepare the letter. I'm counting on you, Atticus, thank you," Gelasius said.

"It's an honor to be able to assist you, Your Majesty," Atticus replied, bowing and tapping his chest with one hand.
