The next day we get back to work. Taking notes of everything that happens in town, what could be the reason for the deaths and who has been planting the chickens around town.
We are past noon already.
"This is boooooring!" Aurelia complained.
I just stare at her for a few seconds, annoyed like this was my plan. We are walking around town, asking questions if anyone has seen anything weird these last few days.
The other thing we learned is that Lisa managed to get more information on the sister that got killed that was part of the temple, so we are also going to her house.

Without stopping, Aurelia looks at me with the side of her eye and then back to the front. It takes her a few moments to speak again, and I believe I saw her shudder a bit after I asked the question.
"Yeah... Don't worry, that place can live without me for a while."
That is not a reassuring answer.
"Do you want to return?"
This time she stops. Her hands are fists, then she shakes her head and starts walking once more.
"Sure." She answers with her usual upbeat energy gone.
I was not expecting that reaction, I am surprised she reacted that way. Thinking about it, she never speaks about her job and did not question that much about what was happening and got into traveling with me almost immediately.
"So, what do we know about this saint." She moves the topic.
I sigh.
"Single woman, lives in a house alone."
"I thought priests, nuns and other people from the temple lived in the monasteries or temples." Karina comments.
"Same, but she decided to stay in her house, based on what Lisa managed to get from the priest."
"What an odd woman, then. What if she has a lover? Imagine it! A holy woman, hiding a strife with a local man!"
"It wouldn't be scandalous in the church of Sul." I comment while crossing my arms. "Sul teaches about growing a family."
"Huh? Meh, I don't really know much about deities and their creeds."
"And you seem to be knowledgeable about them, Amber." Karina points out, flying in front of me.
"I just read a lot about them... It's not like I follow a deity, anyway."

I felt the amulet of Demisaus shake for a moment and getting warm in my chest before returning to normal.
Is the amulet a way to speak to Demisaus? This is the first time it contacts me and I did not know it allowed that. Some items do allow you to speak with them if they wish to speak with you.

We are arriving at the house.

"Gah!" She gags in surprise and pain when her body drops to the ground.
The force of the cast was so strong, it caught me by surprise. Seeing Aurelia get thrown to the ground with such ease is not something I see constantly.
Lisa, who looks like a tomato, is breathing with heaviness, angry from Aurelia's comments and panting like she cannot contain her rage.
I saw her as we approached the house, which is why I avoided commentary. I saved myself.

"M-me?" I answer and take a step back. "I have not said anything!"

Lisa squints her eyes and takes some air to calm herself.
Aurelia, slowly, like she is afraid of more retaliation, stands up.
"I was intending to save that for a monster or enemy... But I don't appreciate neither of you talking about my body like that in front of me."
"We will keep it in mind..." I answer.
"Tche..." Aurelia clicks her tongue but when she stands up she smiles. "But damn, that was a strong attack. It took the air out of my lungs."
"The Father helped me to learn it. And I brought the key to Anita the nun's house" Lisa pulls out a small key. "He was hesitant but I told him we needed it for our investigation. Seems that the nun kept a lot to herself, and enjoyed her own privacy."
Good, we don't have to break ourselves then.
"Thanks." I answer.
Lisa opens the door. It creaks while it lets us in. There is an odd darkness inside.
Aurelia goes first, I follow, and Lisa comes behind me.
There is a bizarre air inside of this house.
