Thanks to having caught them before they could surprise us, we are standing between the two Royal Mages and the nomads from the Movers. Lars was already giving orders to get back and retreat.
Karina is more useful than she seemed to believe. Gathering information and giving it in real time is a good capacity for hidden enemies. Information is important; having it or not can define success.
And they don't know everything about us.
"Seems we got a couple of bitches who believe they can do the shit they want, don't we, boss?" Auralia is smirking at them.
Both stood up and hurried to get back into a defensive position. We cannot see their faces, covered by blue masks.
"They are stronger than we thought, Grey." Says the woman.
"You are right, Ann..." Says Grey. "But that is all, they caught us by surprise."
"You see, Dear Amber, we are chosen by the..."
"Lisa, buffs!" I yell at her when I notice she is still around.
"H-hey! Don't tell them I am here!" Lisa complains.
Then fight with us, coward.
I get both of Aurelia's buffs and [Blessing] from Lisa. The dragonkin gets it, too.
When they notice I am getting biffed while monologuing, Grey jumps at me.
"Don't interrupt us!" He yells and swings his arm. Fire comes out of it, like he is holding it.
I don't dodge, and the hot attack manages to hit me, but thanks to my resistances, I only receive an acceptable amount of damage.
[You were injured (1380)!]
I cast [Sound Bolt] directly in his face. Damage number is 3456, and he has to cover his ears and take a step back.
[Lisa chants Demisaus's sacred words! You heal for 2450 HP! You get [Return in flower form]! Each hit you get increases overall damage!]
That would have been useful seconds ago.
"Kill the Priest!" Grey yells.
Ann, the other mage, runs past Aurelia at great speed.
"Oh, no you don't!" Aurelia screams.
She follows her with a swing of her scythe.
Ann notices and casts [Magic Shield] on herself. The attack of the scythe managez to penetrate it, but most likely absors most of the damage.
Aurelia manages to make Ann lose her vector of attack and sends her flying in a different direction, passing by me.
"[Death Ray]" she chants when she is near me.
The same attack she used on Lisa days before is hurled and is going towards her!
I jump towards it, dodging an attack from Grey, and stop the Death Ray from hitting Lisa.
[You have been critically injured (3980)!]
I feel a hot pain hit my right arm as my body gets thrown into the air, and I fall right by Lisa's feet. She falls to the ground from the shock, while I get my face buried in the snow.
And if I didn't have those resistances, that would not have been good. Maybe I would be dead. I cannot chance a higher roll on the next attack from that spell.
"Shit!" I complain that it hurts too much.
"A-Amber!" Lisa screams.
"Stop panicking and heal me!" I yell at her. "Do it or we die!"
"Ah! L-ligh..."
"No, you won't!" Grey yells and jumps at her. Ann follows him.
I turn around, pull Bloodless out with my right hand, and stretch my left arm to cast [Inferno]. I see their expression change when they figure out I am still managing to cast spells.
That forced them to defend from the spell. They both cast [Magic Shield], but the push from the spell makes them step back.
Lisa heals me with [Light Heal].
"We were told she was weakened! What the hell is happening! That adventurer lied to us, " Ann yells.
"You are not wrong." I answer.
Aurelia swings her weapon, and both Mages jump back. I pull out Bloodless while touching the metallic blade and cast [Explosion]. A small red ball appears between them, and they see it. But it is late. It explodes and hits them both.
The damage gets increased by stacking Bloodless active skill and Lisa's [Return in flower form].
[Royal Mage Grey gets critically injured (-7890)! Royal Mage Ann gets severely injured (-5625)!]
Grey has a hard time getting up. He is grunting each time he makes an effort to stand up. Between the two, he is the one who received more damage ,and it makes sense he is about to kick the bucket.
I will give him a hand.
I run towards him and stand beside him, looking down at how he is attempting to stand up.
His mask falls off, showing a young face with several scars.
"You're not supposed to be this strong... You ran from us... Just days ago." He says, managing to get on a knee.
"Grey!" Ann yells and starts running towards me. Aurelia stops her by throwing herself at the mage and launching them to the ground.
"I got punched in the face by my allies here..." I answer his question. "[Ice Stakes]"
I cast several spikes of ice that fall on him and pierce through his torso. He cannot move, and he gargles as blood comes out of his mouth.
[You killed Royal Mage Grey!]
"Shit! Grey!"
"What did Lucio tell you?" I ask Ann and walk towards her.
"Ah?" The Royal Mage flinches when she sees me approach. She looks around, like looking for a way to run away.
"She asked what the person you tortured said!" Aurelia repeats the question, placing her scythe's blade just centimeters from her face.
"... Fuck you two..." She answers. "He said you lost all your power, and that you had no way to regain it... Guess that was a fucking lie."
A smirk forms in my face. Torture is known for not giving correct information, the person will tell you whatever makes you happy just to stop the torment and pain. Lucio gave them partial information.
"You idiot... You should have proven we could trust you in another way..." I answer.
"What are you going to do to me...?" Ann asks, I can feel the fear in her voice.
"Aurelia, kill her. We need the Kingdom believing I am weak." I answer.
"No, you son of a...!" She prepares a spell.

Aurelia swings her scythe at her head. The damage is enough to cut it clean off.
Their deaths won't go unnoticed, but that will give us time.
