I gather my stuff and take my sword with me. The girl I just met is guiding me through the woods.
"Don't worry! I know the correct way!"
Somehow, her words didn't make me worry any less.
I could feel my tail moving behind me. I could not control it, or maybe I did not know how.
I don't like how it moves on its own. I imagine how annoying it will be when it betrays whatever I am feeling, and I am trying to hide.
As I feel it moving behind me while we walk, I decide to catch it to keep it teady.
"Come here!" I say while I try to grab it.
I miss it, so I attempt again. I start to turn to catch it.
Is so annoying! Stand still, stupid tail!
"Huh?" I hear her say. "Oh! How cute! I didn't know Vulpins acted like Felins!"
When I hear her, I freeze. I got lost in the moment and now I am embarrassed once more.
This stupid body keeps putting me in these situations!
"I-I am not cute!" I respond. I can tell my face is completely red.
Felins are, by the way, catgirls. The creator just wanted to give them a different name. They even have a goddess.
"But you are adorable, Amber!" She is smiling.
"Can we just continue?" I don't need this type of embarrassment. I can see the steam coming from my face from how red it is.
The forest is getting a bit more dense. We left the river moments ago, and we were going through the woods. I hope she knows where we are going, but I guess it's better than nothing.
But many of the trees are without leaves, since it seems to be that time of the year. On this part of the world, it did snow heavily during said times, when the rest of the year was mostly green.
But I focus on following her. I don't want to get lost.
Then I take a better look at her from behind. She was wearing shorts, which was surprising for this time of the year. The only real armor she had was on her chest, the rest was light clothing.
And she looked... Way too good from behind.
I am respectfully looking at her while we walk.
"Careful." She says.
"With what?"
SMACK!
I feel a hit in my forehead when a tree branch swings directly at my face.
"GAH!" I scream as my body recoils, and I respond by covering the hit spot.
It hurt me a lot!
I mean, I can see my HP, which didn't move, but it did hurt!
"Oh, by Ellen! I am so sorry!" She gets closer and starts to inspect where I got hit. "Sorry, I should have been more careful!"
"N-no...! I should have been paying more attention!" I admit. "I was distracted."
That is what I get for not controlling my eyes.
"Let me see." She asks and takes my hand from my forehead.
I resist a bit but put little effort, and end up complying.
She takes a look at my forehead, leaning her face too close to me. With her backhand, she moves the bangs of my hair to the side and looks at it.
Looking her more closely... she has pretty eyes. And her touch is too soft.
"It is bleeding..."
Is it?
I check with my hand and I get a speck of blood on my finger.
It is barely a concern; it will stop on its own.
"Oh... then is nothing."
SMACK!
"Ouch!"
I got hit on my forehead again!
This time it was her.
"H-hey, what the helll is your-? Eh?"
I check where she hit me... and there is a band-aid there... she probably hit me with it when she tried to get it on.
"Stopping the bleeding!"
"You don't need to be so forceful to do it!"
It did hurt...
From what I can tell... she gets too excited to help others and to do her job as an Eagle.
The game does give personalities to people and text to accompany... but they are usually for flavor and don't cause any issue.
The problem is that she seems to really take that personality.
"That way you won't bleed to death!" She says.
"I-it is a small injury! It was going to heal by itself!"
I take a long breath. I cannot be mad at someone who only wants to help me, and she is guiding me to my destination... I hope.
"Well, better safe than sorry! You never know if you will need it!" She says after backing up a bit.
"Look, thank you for worrying... but I am fine." I end up saying. "Shall we continue?"
She nods and starts to walk once more.
I follow closely... this time paying more attention to my surroundings instead of her backside.
Around 15 minutes later, we arrive at a dirt road. If I am not mistaken, this is the main one that cuts through the forest and goes from the capital towards the port town of Lharrein, with an intersection right in the middle that goes south.
I can find myself on this map.
"Now we just follow the road in this direction!" Kathrina said, happy and pointing to our right, where east is. "I will escort you there so you don't get lost. But the roads are much safer than the forest. We got lucky. We did not run into monsters."
Why do I feel that she is treating me like a child?
And as if waiting in line.
"HELP!"
Was that a scream?
Both our faces look in the direction of the scream. It was due east, where we were our direction.
In those cases, my gut reaction is simple.
"Maybe we should avoid-"
"Malkor Eagle incoming!" Kathrina screams out of her lungs and starts running in the direction of the cry for help.
"H-hey! It is dangerous!" I say, staring to run behind her.
She is scorting me! And she runs towards danger!
At this point, I am following her to make sure SHE is not the one in trouble!
But... maybe I can try my skills... if this is my save, then I must have them.
