Chapter 94 - Enemies United

Cate realized that there was no way for her to talk her way out of this trouble, and so she stopped trying to. She looked into Nesiamun's eyes and allowed a small smirk to appear on the corners of her lips. At this moment, the werewolf that had been standing by the side watching everything as though whatever was happening had nothing to do with her made a move. She did not attack. She just moved faster than lightning to appear between Cate and Nesiamun.

"I do not care about his wife's death. He wanted revenge, but I never agreed to let him have you. I will be the one to kill you. I will feast on your heart and finally bring an end to your accursed bloodline." Cate was caught off guard by these words. She took a closer look at the feminine werewolf before her. She was a humanoid wolf with a terrifying yet mesmerizing appearance. She had curves in all the right places, and she radiated power.

From what Cate could tell, this woman was as powerful as Nesiamun, if not even more powerful. Some people thought that vampires were more powerful than werewolves, but this was not the case. Any vampire could easily come face-to-face with an equally powerful werewolf. If the vampires were more powerful, the rivalry between the two races would have come to an end long ago instead of dragging on one century after another with no end in sight.

The most powerful vampires were the vampire gods, who wielded power equal to some of the gods. The werewolves had Origin Alphas, beings that could match vampire gods with ease. In the case of the female werewolf and Nesiamun, Cate was not sure about which one of them was more powerful, but this did not matter since they both wanted him dead.

"You both want me dead, but I do not want to die. Since this is the case, I will have to deny you your revenge, and as for you..." Cate pointed at the werewolf. "I do not know why you want to eat my heart, and I do not care. I will give the both of you a single chance to escape this place. Choose to walk away now, and I will allow it."

Nesiamun just looked at the werewolf. "Ladies first." "Hmmmph. Just as expected from an arrogant vampire. You think that I do not have the power needed to take her out. You might even be hoping to take advantage of my weakness after I kill this bitch, but I can assure you that such a scene will not be playing out. I am a werewolf," she said before releasing a powerful howl that made the earth tremble.

Suddenly, a figure began rushing to this place... It was clear that in a matter of minutes, more werewolves would be gathering in this place. This was more than enough power to deal with Cate and Nesiamun at the same time. "I have always envied the bond that you werewolves share. Unfortunately, I can never trust anyone to that level."

Before the werewolf could digest these words, Cate appeared behind her and punched her through the back with her hand coming out through the woman's chest, covered in blood and pieces of her heart. "You failed to heed my warning. I was not trying to get away from you two because of fear. I simply wanted to enjoy being chased so relentlessly. It is rare that anyone dares come after me."

Nesiamun immediately understood that he had overlooked something very important about this situation. He turned into shadows and attacked Cate with all his power. A crimson blade that was seemingly made out of blood went after Cate and cut off her left hand and shoulder in a single go. Blood slashed all over the place. The werewolf fell to the ground with the hand still in her chest.

Cate conjured her hand to come to her. She grabbed it and put it back in place. This all happened before the crimson blade struck the ground behind her, creating a powerful explosion that rocked the earth. The werewolf howled once again, and this time, the werewolves that were rushing over howled back. It was clear that they were pissed. They increased their speed.

"I have less than a minute. Once those beasts get here, they will attack us both. There is no way they allow a vampire to leave this place in one piece," Cate said. Nesiamun already knew this. He was not moved by Cate's logic even though it was an accurate prediction of what would happen once the werewolves reached this place.

The werewolf woman got to her feet once again and began her attack on Cate. At this moment, the vampire and the werewolf placed their ancient feud to the side, deciding to first kill Cate before dealing with each other. It was as though they were united by their overwhelming hatred of Cate. It was laughable since Cate had never met these two until now.

Cate exchanged blows with the two beings, shattering the earth and covering each grain of sand with blood. Cate began casting a spell, and the two beings could sense the terrible power she was conjuring. A simple black dagger, an athame, appeared in her left hand, and then another appeared in her right.

Cate threw one of the daggers into the sky as she continued to fight against the two powerful beings. Cate was a little distracted, and she paid the price for this with a blow that turned her lower body into blood mist. This was an attack from the werewolf. Bang, the dagger that Cate threw into the sky pierced the firmament, creating cracks that spread out as though the heavens were about to collapse.

In the next moment, the skies became so dark that it appeared to be nighttime. A drop of water fell from the sky and struck Nesiamun over the head. Bang, it landed like a blow from a sledgehammer, forcing Nesiamun into the earth. The werewolf was shaken by this, but before she could make heads or tails of the kind of sorcery at work, she was hit by ten drops of rain.

Her body was filled with holes that went right through her head. It began raining cats and dogs, with each drop being just as heavy. "You dare conjure the Demon Rain," Nesiamun cried out as he dodged a few raindrops.
